Welcome to what may be our 21st Healthy Eating thread!

We take it with varying levels of seriousness- in fact we are a pretty light-hearted bunch generally, but we do support each other, whether we are trying to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, or just get fitter.

Shiney is our Glorious Leader , ably backed up by the ass-kicking Sycamoretree and many other lovely regulars.

Come and join us- post as much as you can and join in the fun, nay, the phenomenon that is the Shiney thread

Why do you have to go to hosiptal BoF - or is it not you?

What kind f dog do you have?

BitOfFun · 02/10/2009 09:12

It's a check-up to monitor the meds I'm on for my psoriasis, Trill. They are immunosuppressants, which fuck your liver and blood pressure, so I need to be seen regularly. I want to come off them though, as I'm fed up of being sick all the time. The alternatives are A) cheaper option of a long-term drug which you cant drink with, EVER , or B) expensive option which is miles more effective but they don't like to give out. New consultant, so don't know what view he will take. Eek.

Dog is on my profile pic- Terrierus Bastardus, I think.

Morning all

Typically I missed loads whilst I was sleeping

Slimey do you think it's the friend that is making DD behave the way she is? Is it out of character for her (your DD I mean)?

I'm on for a good weight loss this week if I can just keep on track food wise

NormaSknockers · 02/10/2009 09:15

Hope your checkup goes well BOF, sorry to hear you have to be on meds all the time

TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 09:18

I kinda want to say 'aww, a cute little dog like that can't make very much poo' but I know it's not true. Good hair by the way!

NormaSknockers · 02/10/2009 10:09

Cute dog, much cuter then our scruff bag! Loving the curly girl hair too

TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 10:10

Once I have used up my current (massive massive) bottles of shampoo/conditioner I will be bugging you on how to do that. But not sure how it will work with swimming - I have to use shampoo to get the chlorine out.

TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 10:13

I was bored so did an AIBU, and in classic style worded the title much more strongly than I actually feel in order to get attention

Need to work up to doing actually controversial AIBUs I think.

StrictlySazz · 02/10/2009 10:21

Hello all, sorry RL taken over for a bit trying to get my messy overstuffed house to resemble something more Homes & Gardens. Sadly still failing

Sorry to hear about your friends daughter Jet, that is tragic . Hope the funeral goes ok for everyone

BoF Sorry to hear of poorly DD2 and your lack of sleep. I am dreading a bout of flu here as i never seem to get enough sleep

Bella - glad you got your physio but sorry to hear of your kneeling setback

Shiney - difficult to say what is best if you don't know whose idea it was. Would she tell her dad the truth? Could you scare her a bit with the length of sentences for youth offenders for stealing and breaking and entering? Sorry no other ideas i'm afraid , but sounds like a break of spending time with this girl might help. Then of course you become 'cruel mummy who stopped me seeing my best mate'. So hard but i hope you can nip it in the bud

Well done Flamingo on your size 10's - that is amazing, you have done so well

Only 1lb off here this week which is annoying as I have been really really good food & exercise wise. Never mind it is still downwards, AF still not here so hopefully some additional loss will come with that.
On the upside this 1lb brings me to exactly 2 1/2 stone off [hurrah]. My target for next week is 2lbs which will bring me down to a mere 1 stone to lose

If i do manage to lose that i will have lost the combined bodyweight of both DD's [cripes i was fat before emoticon]

wastingaway · 02/10/2009 10:30

Morning!

Well done on your lb off Sazz!

I have stayed the same, which is awesome after a slightly crap food week and approach (I think) of AF.

Hope you get some positive results at hospital BoF.

Lizzy, you need a large glass of fresh orange juice, followed by a mug of fresh coffee.

How about TrillianAAARRGHHH!stra?

TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 10:43

Can we have punctuation in names?

I had thought of that actually, just wanted to see what others came up with. It seems great minds tink alike. I think it's good. Nice and simple, and definitely me. Now, how many of each letter?

SqueezyCheese · 02/10/2009 10:58

Morning all

Am having an unashamedly lazy day today.

wastingaway · 02/10/2009 11:10

Oh, I don't know about punctuation in names, but the upper case letters should do it if not.
Definitely don't use equal numbers of each letter, other than that, it's your name!

Enjoy your lazy day Squeezy.

You have to chat and try to eat healthily and/or lose weight. That's all.

Well, and there's the matter of Terry Wogan's Cock, but I'm not sure what the rules are there...

SqueezyCheese · 02/10/2009 11:50

Hiya Lenin

You don't have to do anything in particular. Write what you eat every day, count your calories on foodfocus, do a bit of exercise or just make a little plan to eat healthier. Do you have any goals? The support on here is fab!

BitOfFun · 02/10/2009 12:23

I think we could give Lenin a special dispensation on Terry Wogan's cock actually, but she still has to look at just once to see this thread's mascot

Maybe we should come up with another delight for the retinas on our next thread?

Sympathies on the three hour shift Lenin- I feel your pain, believe me...

Just got back from the hospital, and I can come off my tablets for a fortnight and decide whether or not to go for another type. They sound even worse though- basically low-dose chemotherapy which will still suppress my immune system and make me catch bugs all the time and feel like shit. Oh, and not drink more than tiny amounts.

I don't think so.

I'd rather take my chances with the psoriasis flaring up again. I think I am going to start a health kick in earnest instead, and get my energy back. Exercise, losing weight, it will get much easier when I'm not fighting off infections constantly.

So, a weekend with a few glasses of wine, and A Plan for next week!! I am dying of cold/sinus trouble right now, but hopefully I have a chance of getting over it now I'm not taking immunosuppressants.

Positive attitude

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 12:34

Positive attitude.

Going for dinner with my ex-housemates and our DPs tonight. Just got an email asking if we have boggle. Well, no, beceuase we would only ever play games after lots of wine and boggle would be too hard when drunk.

BitOfFun · 02/10/2009 12:36

Twister?

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 02/10/2009 12:53

I think we're likely to be too full to do any game that isn't sitting down.

daftpunk · 02/10/2009 12:56

trill..have you thought of name yet..?
