Welcome to what may be our 21st Healthy Eating thread!

We take it with varying levels of seriousness- in fact we are a pretty light-hearted bunch generally, but we do support each other, whether we are trying to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, or just get fitter.

Shiney is our Glorious Leader , ably backed up by the ass-kicking Sycamoretree and many other lovely regulars.

Come and join us- post as much as you can and join in the fun, nay, the phenomenon that is the Shiney thread

thanks for the link trills - could be what it was, as i had a bit of a temp, nausea and the pain in stomach could have been a muscle cramp

VictorMeldrew · 27/09/2009 21:02

I might name change now, as i am no longer grumpy and hungover

awww shiney - hope you are feeling better soon

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/09/2009 21:16

Sorry shiney.. I think I am beating you in the recovery stakes even though I was poorlier than you ..Anadin Extra has done it for me.

Quite right Sazz....I tend to think that generally, that how you are with people reflects back in how they are with you. I have been 'shy' in the past so tend to grin like a loon in new situatios as a cover up...I always find people really friendly where-ever I go (or maybe they are just nervous and smile back to humour me)

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 21:16

Hope you feel better soon Shiney

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 27/09/2009 21:16

Shiney - hope you get well soon, being ill sucks.

Lost it a bit on the other thread. Oh well.

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 21:26

Urgh, sat here trying to squint at the screen & catch up (was watching X Factor with DH) but I can't find my sodding glasses & it's blurring together! I swear my eyes are getting worse I never used to be this bad, good job I can touch typist as I'm having to hang my head right over the keypay to see the damn keys

TrillianAstra · 27/09/2009 21:27

Poor shiney

Just had spicy beef and pepper stew with far too much tiger bread. Tired now, too much exercise!

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 21:28

Shiney, sorry to hear you're feeling crapola - get any honey & lemon?

MavisGrind · 27/09/2009 21:35

Sorry to hear you feel crap Shiney, hope you're better soon.

Right, I have eaten half a box of thorntons chocs and a third of a box of choccy fingers. There are no treats left in the house so I'm ready for new-improved-healthy-eating-me.

It's the evening snacking that gets me. I have the three meals a day thing going on but it's tea at 5 with the boys then the long stretch out until bed. Any suggestions for resisting the fridge??

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 21:37

Nutella on toast usually does the trick for me Mavis, kicks the chocolate & snacking urge into touch at the same time!

Right, tis no good all this squinting is making my head hurt so off to bed for me & then maybe I'll remember where I put the sodding things - really should put them on a chain around my neck but I don't want to feel oooooooooold!

Nighty night all Xx

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 21:48

Night Norma

Shiney - are you starting again tomorrow?

MavisGrind · 27/09/2009 21:59

nah, Shiney, all the thorntons are gone. I have kept the wrappers though for ds1's shoe box doodle drawers so not all bad.

Will possibly explore the possibility of nutella, suspect I will just scoff the whole jar with the aid of a warmed spoon.

Night night Norma!

leaningtoweroflaundry · 27/09/2009 22:33

holy smokes! how fast are you guys filling the threads!!!!!

RL has taken over yet again so just a flying visit but hopefully things will settle after next week

still hanging in there (by the fingertips). will post when i get 5mins.....

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 07:26

Got caught watching Dirty Dancing last night, then fell asleep

Shiney - hope you are feeling better today and ready for that big step up onto the weightloss wagon

Mavis - how about some light hot choc sachets, or consider eating a very small amount with the boys and some proper supper? I know eating late is a bit crap but we never eat until 7.30/8pm so no snacking risk before bed

Playgroup this morning, pilates at lunchtime and 3rd birthday party this avo so will not be around much. See you later

NormaSknockers · 28/09/2009 07:31

Morning all,

Helloooo to Leaning

Will take a ham sandwich to work for lunch and then myself and the boys are going to have some king prawns for tea with pasta. DH out straight from work tonight.

Salsavita · 28/09/2009 09:25

Yep, shiney, it sounds like you need one!

I have never been to Center Parcs..

Ah I see about the Soya milk, I thought it was a new thing for a new start today with your healthy eating.

Do you have to smother your DS in loads of cream and stuff?
