Welcome to what may be our 21st Healthy Eating thread!

We take it with varying levels of seriousness- in fact we are a pretty light-hearted bunch generally, but we do support each other, whether we are trying to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, or just get fitter.

Shiney is our Glorious Leader , ably backed up by the ass-kicking Sycamoretree and many other lovely regulars.

Come and join us- post as much as you can and join in the fun, nay, the phenomenon that is the Shiney thread

Buenos dias.

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 10:03

Swam a mile this morning! And only got into work at 9:50. But I don't think they care too much - I always work more than the theoretical 37 1/2 hours.

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 10:11

I have to confess - I had 4 bits of tiger bread last night ith my stew. DP had about 6. The remains are a sandwich for his lunch and some for my lunch with soup. No fear of it going stale in our house!

Poor Shiney, do you know what's wrong ith you? Sounds like you;'ve been off for ages, is it worth seeing the docotr? Or would an injection of fruit and veg help?

norma- everything is okish here. started back at uni in august so have been swamped still, new term started last week and hopefully the timetable will settle down so i'll have a better idea of what free days i have, at least until placements start

late start today so took full advantage of empty house to de-fuzz.....my expression at the state of my legs

right, off to expand the mind.....

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/09/2009 10:54

Hmm....a virus shiney? It is lingering somewhat. It might explain while you also express from time to time that you don't feel on top form. And can't get back into the swing of this dietting malarky.

The wet wrap thing sounds tough, but they are usually so resillient aren't they?

I am improving except for a problem with my feet for which I have saved up to see the chiropidist. It is like having headache in my feet and as I am on them most of the time is starting to be tiresome. If the chiropodist sorts them I am going to propose, even if she is a hairy arsed trucker on her days off because I am fed up of my poor feet being in such a state.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/09/2009 10:55

Wow, I am in awe of you Trill, wish it was easier to get to the pool. I love swimming.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/09/2009 11:01

Can I do a mini AIBU on here?

AIBU to wear a couple of the rings I inherited from my Gran on my wedding ring to ward off evil spirits unwanted attention from someone. I have been told my relationship status has been enquired about and I am SO not interested in anything right now. (Gran would approve)

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 11:03

If gran would approve of your use of her rings then go for it.

Poeple might ask questions though, and if you answer them the fact that you are not actually married might still get back to the person in question.

Salsavita · 28/09/2009 11:03

Of course you should wear them - on any finger you wish them to be needed on!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/09/2009 11:08

Dunno, I am crap about all that stuff and need to sort my head out before I even think about anything like that. And it makes me all stressy because I just can't 'do' the man thing. I feel like a stupid guache teenager and just want to crawl in a hole. Oh bum. I am overthinking this, someone shake me pleae.

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 11:27

While it would be lovely to wear your gran's ring (just generally) I think you need to let it be known that you're not interested in any relationship stuff right now. People will notice if you suddenly start wearing a ring on your wedding finger.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 28/09/2009 12:22

Yeah...that would be more appropriate Trill, I just wasn't prepared for dealing with that sort of thing and my head and heart are really not 'there'.

StrictlySazz · 28/09/2009 13:13

Well done on the mile Trill . I am sure a fit and healthy employee is better than a clockwatcher

Shiney - hope the special oranges work their magic. Unfortunately with doctors and viruses they just shake their heads knowingly whilst unhelpfully saying 'nowt i can do for you love i'm afraid'

Just scraped together some lunch. very little food in the house as no chance to go before tomorrow. Poor DD's i ate the last tomato, last piece of cucumber and last carrot in my salad and they got a ham sandwich . At least there are no temptations

TMW - how awful, your feet having a headache . I have absolutely no idea what that must feel like but sounds painful

Are you in your new old shoes today?

vacaloca · 28/09/2009 13:30

Sorry for not being around much. Loads to do at the moment.

I went for a run this morning. A friend joined me who used to do running quite seriously and she FORCED me to run 1 mile without stopping. I hated her at the time but now I'm really pleased I did it.

DH cooked some amazing soup yesterday - Thai lentil soup from the Saturday's Guardian. It was yummy and it looks like it shouldn't be too calorific. Does anyone know if coconut milk is okayish calorie-wise?

Off to have a bowl of it with a slice of dry toast.

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 13:35

This soup vaca?

Sounds yummy. Coconut milk does have calories in it, not sure how many - have a look on the tin I guess.

vacaloca · 28/09/2009 14:15

That's the one. Absolutely gorgeous. No nutrition info on the tin unfortunately.

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 14:20

I have to confess - I had a pub lunch. Office bonding is important, and I did swim a mile this morning.

Some guy is over from the US so everyone was going. I had ham, egg, chips, and peas, it was lovely (I think it's important to get something nice if you're spending money.calories).

Food focus says (for example):

Amoy COCONUT Milk

Amoy COCONUT Milk, Reduced Fat

Oh thanks Trill. It's not too bad I guess then.

Shiney, you need some proper old-fashioned chicken soup in you. But you don't eat that, do you?

Mmm, fake chicken. Is it soup or just packet stuff?

If it's soup then it will help. Chicken soup is magic y'know.

We're making up aims for the 3-month review - supposed to have done it at the beginning - 3 months is in about 3 weeks time.

vacaloca · 28/09/2009 17:17

Isn't that real chicken?

Am I in a time warp or has this thread really been quiet for almost 2 hours now?

TrillianAstra · 28/09/2009 17:21

I'm at work, don't blame me...
