Welcome to what may be our 21st Healthy Eating thread!

We take it with varying levels of seriousness- in fact we are a pretty light-hearted bunch generally, but we do support each other, whether we are trying to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, or just get fitter.

Shiney is our Glorious Leader , ably backed up by the ass-kicking Sycamoretree and many other lovely regulars.

Come and join us- post as much as you can and join in the fun, nay, the phenomenon that is the Shiney thread

Because your body thinks it is not going to get enough food and so it 'overstores' incase the fast lasts a long time IYSWIM, Kerry
Stomachs often need targetted toning and not just general weight loss or exercise.

I do a kickboxing workout and the warm up includes a lot of exercises that work on the Abs and stomach muscles, but my mummy tummy is still the last thing to go....

I have been lazy with food so probably not a good day. I did a 2 hr hike yesterday as I thought the fresh air might revive me but might have overdone it as I am limp and raglike. I have come off iron for the first time this year and think it is starting to tell on me.

There is only so much flippin' cabbage a girl can eat and enjoy life.

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 19:28

Norma - do not skip breakfast. Is there any chance you could make yourself some 0 point veggie soup for lunch or some 0 point veggie curry? Then that will leave you with enough for dinner?

Don't worry about what you have had today. You have had it and that is it.

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 19:29

Glad she's ok Jet, you did the right thing walking away I'm sure JrJet will see sense in that, she sounds like a smart chicky

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 19:32

Ok Salsa tbh I wouldn't be able to skip it anyway! Will have small bowl of bran flakes. Got my friend coming round for the day tomorrow so have lunch planned already, joacket pots with prawns & a big fresh leafy salad - will eat the salad first so that I'm less hungry for the potato. Hopefully dinner won't be to heavy a meal but I have a feeling it might be pasta - I'll just go for a small portion & hope for the best!

Kerry - is granola full of sugar? I could eat bowls and bowls of Alpen, but it is a huge no no.

Could you do say some cut up banana and yoghurt or other fruit and yoghurt? The 0% Total Greek Yog mixed with some fruit is really low in fat and very healthy. To boost it up a bit you could put in a handful of sunflower seeds and a drizzle of honey - this recipe came from Syc. I have this most days.

Norma - jacket pot, prawns and salad sounds lovely.

NormaSknockers · 27/09/2009 19:45

Think it'll be ok with that for lunch, small bowl of bran for brekki & then mystery dinner?

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 19:46

cut up some [doh emoticon]

jetonthedancefloor · 27/09/2009 19:46

sounds ok to me Kerry - but hey, what do i know

Talking of drinking water..... I had baked some cookies today for Jrjet - apricot and soft cheese - and must admit to tasting one. Was def only one, as not sure how well they would mix with my tablets Shortly after that (there is a point... bear with me.....) i had the most awful stomach cramp, on the right side. Now, given the tablets, i expected the worse but couldnt shift the pain. I ended up taking a paracetomol with a glass full of water. As soon as i had a drink, the pain went, which was too fast for the paracetamol to work.

My question (finally) is is that what happens when you get dehydrated? I didnt think i was, but then realised that after a stressful morning, i hadnt had anything to drink at all

Successful day here, DH has built my shoe cabinet i designed out of a recycled sheet of MDF which was in the hall along with all our other shite and i got 3 lined baskets for £15 to go on top to hold hats, scarves, gloves. I just need to spray primer and paint it and it will be just lovely

All our 19 ebay items sold for a grand total of £327 . Just need to put the other 30 items on now

Good day food wise (special k, cottage cheese salad & rice cakes) as so busy and gym this morning cycle/ski/row/powerplate. DH cooking pork fillet for dinner. Goodness knows what time we will eat, given he has just run a bath . I also now have a large glass of red so things may go downhill

Salsa - fab result on the shoes and great they still go with a number of 'new' outfits . Very of Shiney's £70 find

Trill - 20 miles. Wow . well done you , and it sounded very enjoyable too

Jet - sounds like you are one step ahead of the twat your ex. As others have said, the fact that you are getting help and are getting out and about with Junior and Mini will all count in your favour, not against it . on your behalf that it was let slip to the twat your ex. I would be having words. Stern ones.

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 27/09/2009 20:35

Sounds good StrictlySazz, I sold 6 items of DD's clothing for £33 so was happy with that.

Had a lovely day here as the sun was out so did some more obliteration of the garden. DD though has got a nasty cough and coughs so much she throws up but Docs won't do/can't do anything for her (this happens every time she has a cough).

Dh has just cooked me supper of locally caught plaice, new potatoes and tenderstem broccoli and am enjoying that with a glass of wine.

Jet - I am sorry about everything that has gone on today, definitely phone someone tomorrow as surely that stuff is confidential.

Kerry - agree with the others, 3 meals a day is best.

Probably won't be on here again so catch you all tomorrow.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/09/2009 20:35

I had completely forgotten DD gave me a makeover a couple of hours ago and have just got her out of the bath. I caught sight of myself in the mirror and I look like morticia meets stig of the dump.....

Wow to E-bay stuff sazz... I keep meaning to start as I want to have a real clear out. I have this dream of selling up and going on a trip around the world to see places like Machu Picchu, as and when the DC's are old enough to have lives/careers of their own....

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 20:37

I have got some stuff to ebay. Will put it on tomorrow night (DH out till about 9.30) so I won't have any interuptions.

VictorMeldrew · 27/09/2009 20:40

( . ) ( . )

StrictlySazz · 27/09/2009 20:41

Fanny - my friend said kiddy clothes weren't selling well atm (she does them a lot) so i have a pile of these and maternity clothes in the study which i can't muster the energy to ebay if they will get 99p each. Maybe i'll give a couple a go and see how i get on. Your dinner sounds lovely BTW

TMW - Do it, honestly you would not believe what people will buy. We never put a reserve as we just want to get rid and usually sell everything

DH still in bath...............

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 20:47

Victor - is that you (VT) or BofF?

You look a bit perkier than earlier anyway

Lizzylou · 27/09/2009 20:49

Strangely enough, have just been putting some stuff on Ebay. How did you make that much Sazz??? I did have £50 in paypal this morning but I seem to have bought more Papo zoo animals for DS2's Christmas present.

Fanny, your dinner sounds lovely

Jet, hope jjet is OK.

Hope you all have a good evening, have been doing the opposite to fasting today, oh yes.

Bt tomorrow will start the day with bran flakes and it can only get better after that

TrillianAstra · 27/09/2009 20:50

Wow, well done on the ebying Sazz!

The picture of tits might make me think it's Vinny, but thre's only one person round here who actually shows us her tits

Dehydration info

VictorMeldrew · 27/09/2009 20:51

Oh yes i've perked up Bella, only after having a glass of wine with my dinner

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 27/09/2009 20:52

Getting riled on another thread about Dorset. Am I rude? as she thinks we all are down here.

VictorMeldrew · 27/09/2009 20:52

has bof been showing her tits again?

Salsavita · 27/09/2009 20:52

You are a one!

jetonthedancefloor · 27/09/2009 20:55

strictly - i am liking the sound of your shoe cabinet - i am needing to sort one out for the utility room, as need to start using the back door instead of front door - there is too much crap useful stuff accumulating in the rather small hallway. I figure if i use the back door, then the pushchair, shoes coats etc can all stay out of sight, and i can have the lovely minimal hallway i am longing for

Not sure if we are still logging exercise, but i just jogged for 30 mins, at a much faster pace than i could manage before. Am bloomin knackered

StrictlySazz · 27/09/2009 20:56

Lizzy - big items were £100 for Dh's spare Land Rover seats, £50 for 4 dining chairs, £30 for a train play table, £25 for a baby carrier. It all adds up amazingly

Fanny - anyone saying that everyone from said large area is rude is just a small minded bigot. There are good, bad, kind, cruel, rude, polite people everywhere. they do not all crowd together in one county
