Eat fruit and vegetables - 10/10 thread BOOTCAMP, all welcome

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hi Fran, how very odd, the last time i think i did any MN lurking i remember reading that thread!

FK - just made marrow soup. It was so successful that I am scrabbling around frantically for delivery menus. Shit it was. Only place for marrow is the compost heap.

SuperBunny · 16/09/2009 20:52

Do people really search to see who's looked for them?

Marrows are made for compost. And sex, apparently. But not for eating.

FrannyandZooey · 16/09/2009 22:19

i don't expect normal people do searching, no
it is useful though because you can see where people have asked questions and stalked you like a big loon
i know some other people who do it so am not only big head

anyway sorry, i was going to put other things earlier but then the boys went a bit wild and i was called away
tiger how exciting this time is
looking forward to hearing news
sweeps are great, i think they work very well
going long overdue is pretty gruesome but it will all be forgotten about in a week or so

i am fine but chasing my tail
did guad appear
did she move

i saw cod briefly

and was very sad to hear about trinity - how is she now, do you know?

i can't think of any news
we went camping and a goat bit me
ds2 can say 'dog' and 'bird' but my mum had the temerity to say they sounded the same
when one is clearly "gogger" and one is the very different "girgir"
i think she needs a hearing aid probably
anyway good night, i am very tired, good night, i hope you all sleep well and eat lots of fruit for breakfast

p.s. boco THANK YOU and sorry i let you down by being a big show off after all

ABitWrong · 16/09/2009 22:21

d'you know,I was going tosay that, but I thought it might be tactless

FrannyandZooey · 16/09/2009 22:21

SuperBunny · 16/09/2009 22:51

Well done Franny, a stone is a lot. If you could lose one for me, i'd be very grateful.

TooT, I have no tact. None at all.

Is it bad that I haven't really invited anyone to DS birthday party? There will be little boy from our road, and my sister's DP's family (his parents, sister, & his 8 yr old nephew) and maybe the upstairs neighbour. And I have no plans other than to stick a sandbox in the garden. [crap party emoticon]

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 17/09/2009 14:39

Franny, well done on the stone..

I believe Trinity is as you would expect but a thread was started to get some scottish MNers to visit and help her through what must be a devastating time, and I am sure she posted on a little.

mollyroger · 17/09/2009 16:23

hello! I missed franny

I haven't abandoned you lot, just in a very odd place at the moment.Any of you are welcome to make me friends on fb or email me or whatevr for chats, it's just I am too poor in spirit and pocket to focus on buying 10 portions of f&V per day. I probably am eating very well and healthily but....
Love you all!

TF, particularly wishing you lots and lots of luck and a nice easy labour x

littlerach · 17/09/2009 16:42

Hi Moll. Take care love, hope to see you around soon.

TF hasn't been on today yet

Os - Nigel Slater did a marrow recipe on his show the other week and he keeps promoting www.bbc.co.uk/digin, so it may be on there.

OsmosisBanana · 17/09/2009 17:45

What happened to Trinity?

I have eaten nothing but Maoam and crisps today. It was inevitable. But car is now fixed.

I saw that recipe on Nigel t'other day, thought if he cooked it, yes prob tasty, if I cooked it.. probably a bit... meh.

Offski to set up festival stall where doubtless there will be more Maoam and crisp consumption.

Laterz Vegugaterz
