I think this is thread 10. We are an unruly bunch of MNetters trying to shed a lot a little or just some pounds through a variety of methods. Others just trying to eat healthily.

Newcomers most definitely welcome, just be advised the post rate is insane so be sure to check in regularly!

Our hostess Ms Diamond will be along soon I'm sure.

OP posts:
ellagrace · 03/08/2009 13:53

and how much does it weigh?

Marthasmama · 03/08/2009 13:53

I've just had yummy chicken and veggie soup but boohoo, no bread. I miss bread already....

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 13:55

found i can't cut out/down carbs too much - get depressed

alicecrail · 03/08/2009 13:55

Hello again,

Trillian did you have a good weekend?

Ella i think you will fit in fine here not meaning you post a lot or anything

I was a bit bad over lunch time, ham and cheese salad sandwich and a handful of those yummy oriental crackers, peking spare rib or something, and my wispa (which i had to share with DD) and i am now having a coffee, well trying to but DD keeps trying to wrestle it off me.

wastingmyejumication · 03/08/2009 13:56

It's taken me ages to catch up! Good afternoon all.

Hello newbies! I've been here a week and am a very random poster.

I weigh 18 stone 4.4 lbs and would like to weigh considerably less. About 11 stone should be good for me, about a size 14, though it's ten years since I was that weight. A two stone loss would put me where I was before DS arrived on the scene.
I am attempting to follow Paul McKenna, eat more healthily in general with more f+v and less processed foods, learn about portion sizes and exercise more

tummytickler · 03/08/2009 13:57

Hello.
i signed up to food focus - slightly intimidated by it! Yikes - you really do have to pay attention dont you!
Got off to a bad start today! Dh gave me a lie in - and woke up to find they had scoffed the last of the cereal and all the bread, so i had a custard and raspberry pastry on my way to the Post Office .
But i was walking whilst i ate so thats good right?
Taking the big 2 kids off to the cinema in a mo, so will check in later - i will resist the toffee popcorn, i will resist . . .

MM - that soup sounds yummy! Are you really off bread - is it making a difference?

VinegarTits · 03/08/2009 13:58

Ella i have about a stone to loose, but i am not very strict with myself and keep falling off the wagon, getting pissed off with myself though so giving FF another go

tummytickler · 03/08/2009 14:00

VT - wow, i just assume i can stuff myself with salad and veg, and not count it at all - i guess i had better start!

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 14:01

is FF where the calorie counting comes from? sorry don't know much about all these programmes. except that my sister did that one where you live on liquid stuff and pay a fortune

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 14:02

can't think what you mean alicecrail

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 14:03

love your name wasting. hi

alicecrail · 03/08/2009 14:05

Have just put all my food into FF and have about 800 cals left for dinner this evening so looks like i am having salad and new potatoes instead of roast potatoes and yorkshire puds. Oh well.

Must go to do my daily exercise - shovelling shit!! Byeee

Lizzylou · 03/08/2009 14:06

Do I have to say what I weigh and stuff?

Am 5ft 9" and weigh 12 stone 10 lbs, am annoyed as was 11 stone 2 lbs last year and that was a good weight for me. In fact, for the first time since I was a student people were telling me not to lose any more weight as I look odd too light.
Aiming to get back to that again and perhaps some more. I am big all over and broad, big feet/tits etc , saw a photo of myself a few weeks back with my more petite friends and looked like Gulliver, was very upset. I think I look heavier than I weigh atm as I am not toned at all, hopefully getting back into exercise will stop that.

I can't find yoga on Food Focus? Is that because it doesn't count?
Dammit, just got a new DVD as well.

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 14:11

well yoga counts even if ff doesn't say so.

i'm nearly back down to the weight i was last november before eating my way back to a stone above that over the winter lizzylou. want to lose a bit more for a bufferzone and try and develop discipline and whatever it is that's needed to stop yo-yoing back up there

i hate those pics that make you feel like that. my motivator was going down to brighton to see old friends who are mega skinny and lush looking still and feeling like a blob

Jaquelinehyde · 03/08/2009 14:15

Hi everyone, hello all the newbies

Here's my little background bit -- I'm 5"6ish and weighed in at the begining at 25st 4lb I have lost 18lb so far so now weigh 24st and I have my 4th weigh in tonight at my slimming world group. My first big goal is to get out of the 20s, however, I'm grateful for every lb I lose.

I feel starving today, really, really hungry but I'm trying to hold out because of weigh in. I'm going to have some soup and a yogurt at about 3 and then not have my dinner until after weigh in as usual. It just seems really difficult today.

How's everyone doing? I'm hoping for 3 lb this week so I can have a full stone and a half weight loss. Anything would be a bonus after staying the same last week though.

tummytickler · 03/08/2009 14:19

I still had 600 calories left yesterday. so can i have an extra 600 calories today?

Marthasmama · 03/08/2009 14:20

Tum - I've been off bread for, ooooo, 5 hours now! It does make a huge difference to me as I really shouldn't eat it. It bloats me out and has always triggered binges for me. I do get to the stage where I don't miss it but that is about two weeks away for me at the moment.

Ella - The buffer zone is a good idea as most people put on a few pounds once they start on a maintenance programme.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 03/08/2009 14:23

hello, new folk..I don't get to come on very often so lose track of who is where a bit...

Getting regular exercise one way or another.

Food is mixed. got hormonal munchies though so willeat anything for a few days.

Lizzylou · 03/08/2009 14:23

Jaquelinehyde, wow your weight loss is amazing! I lost weight to get down to my last years figure on SW. I find it suits me best, am trying to work to my old fave recipes and stuff and use Fod Focus at the same time to keep a log as I can't get to any classes near me.
You are doing so well, I always used to wait until after weigh in before dinner too

Ella, I was distraught over the photo, then went on hols for a few weeks and put more weight on (even though I kept up my running, I did overindulge on cakes, cheese and wine), so am all fired up now.

Hoping the enthusiasm lasts now, hence joining this thread to spur me on and get me motivated

Marthasmama · 03/08/2009 14:24

Is that 18lbs in 4 weeks Jaq? That's fabulous!

All this talk of FF is confusing me. I have a 10 month old so ff to me still means formula feeding!!!

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 14:41

i've managed to tidy away a million cars and books and put away piles of laundry. ds went to nursery today for first time in 2 weeks - i feel human again for having had a bit of space even though it's mostly just been spent doing housework

got about an hour and a half left to get more done and work out dinner and prepare myself for the return to chaos and mess

jetcat32 · 03/08/2009 14:42

Jaq - good luck for tonight i am sure you will do well!

I must admit that i dont tend to weigh and log my salad either - i did when i first started, so i know that a medium tomato is 70 cals (or is it 70g either way i just log it from memory!

Am struggling a bit now for inspiring recipies though - have boring chicken for tonight, while girls are having pasta with lots of yummy creamy sauce I think its time to try sazzles thai noodles

AM hopefully selling my car on ebay this week (runs out on wed, with 9 watchers) so should do a fair bit extra walking over the next few weeks while i save up like mad wait for my new car. I am hoping that i can manage it though, without all the depression stuff kicking in and making me paranoid about going on a bus etc

I am liking the catch up part of this thread, perhaps we should do it on all the new threads, though poss on page 2, so as not to embarress me to the people just looking in scare off the newbies

bellavita · 03/08/2009 14:57

Good luck tonight Jaq

ellagrace · 03/08/2009 15:09

that dietchef advert has just been on.

SycamoretreeIsFullOfResolve · 03/08/2009 15:12

Ds is feeding george pig his banana.

DD is playing a game of pulling old fashioned school long jump style measuring tape from end of garden through house and out of front door.

Then DH is winding it up again as she chases it back through the house. What joy.

Had my yog for breakka and then a plain ham sandwich for a pound from M&S for lunch as was out buying bikes for kids birthdays and buying up ingredients for WW meals for next few days.

Had bag of WW crisps. Am on 9 points so far today.

I have another 10 to spare.

MUST DRINK WATER - AND SO MUST YOU LOT!

(impressive posting rate from newbies, well done girls, duly noted )
