I've been missing in action. My parents arrived yesterday with 2 suitcases full of various hams, chorizo and all sorts. I half expected to see a live chicken jump out of their suitcase at one stage. They're embarrassing.

And of course I had to cook a Spanish omelette today and I can't even face putting it on FF because I will cause the whole website to collapse. And they can't have lunch or dinner without large amounts of bread and wine.

I'm dying here. Someone rescue me please.

Ooh, I'm excited now- all the people I love on MN (apart from some obviously skinnier ones) are here! I think the only one I don't know well is vacaloca, and I like her for the chicken in the suitcase already!

actually Vaca, your post has just reminded me of something that happened a very long time ago. DH and I went on holiday to Italy to stay with some rellies. Of course, they gave us all sorts to bring back, salamis, parmesan, loads and loads of wine, brandy. Thing was, we got stopped going through customs. Stuff all hidden in the bottom of the case. But they weren't the trolley cases, just the ones that you carry, poor DH, his arms were down by his ankles . The customs men must have thought we looked a bit strange. I asked the nice man if (to this day, I don't know why I said it) if he wanted to look in our cases whilst DH just wanted the ground to swallow him up. Luckily, the man said, why on earth would I want to do that.... phew, how we got away with it I just don't know as I my handbag had been stolen the day before with all the money in and we would have had no way of paying the customs.

DH was once stopped in customs after the sniffer dogs went mad around his suitcase - it was the 4kgs of chorizo my mum had put inside. She'll never learn.
