Wake Pea Up Before you Goji - 10/10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

what's wrong with salmon? I have missed the fish talk.

Guadalupe · 22/06/2009 18:20

Yum! That frimmey thingy sounds tasty.

I put chickpeas, loads of lemon and parsley, apple, celery, onion, olive, anything that I have lying around really. Bit of olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. It's tangy.

Hard about salmon isn't it. Mine love it too, though I quite often make them fishcakes or a fish pie with tinned wild salmon. We don't have smoked salmon much these days.

I don't know. Seems there's something bad with loads of stuff. My friend says you should only buy organic strawbs as they are the worst to be sprayed but I don't. There are such loveky punnets on the market.

pinkspottywellies · 22/06/2009 19:00

I did quite a nice chickpea and tuna thing the other week with chilli sauce and red onion in pita bread with salad. Mmmm

Good veg day today. Raisins, juice, apple, banana, crudites [ponce] veg and houmous (2), pear, and cabbage (2), carrots, sweetcorn/soya beans/onion (2) Gosh 11! I'll have to go and do 10 mins on the trampoline so I can have a sticker!

DS has decided to snack every couple of hours now he won't have a full on both sides fill up. Never mind. This too is a phase and it shall pass

DD remembered today, quite specifically, where she got a book from before Christmas. She has a wierdly good memory! I on the other hand can't remember stuff from one minute to the next at the moment!

I would have freaked out at the pigeon in the house 100! Well handled!

Good news about the job wombling! Hope it all goes well when you start

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2009 19:02

what was that fish talk all about? i saw it was coming up but it seemed so arbitrary to have someone come to talk about fish

100 i am very sorry to hear of pigeon hijinks
you know you can always come and talk it through if you have PTSD (pigeon traumatic stress disorder)

mollyroger · 22/06/2009 19:20

Really really Franzo???
Were people narsty to Mr Haddock from Waitrose fish counter??
Really?

oh.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/06/2009 19:33

I don't know if the thread has been pulled, but a few questions were side-stepped by Mr Haddock.

There's a webchat tomorrow that is bound to go pear shaped. Something like Daisy Goodwin, I had never heard of her. But I gather she had something to do with the Bringing Up Baby programme. It is going to be carnage.

FrannyandZooey · 22/06/2009 19:38

was he really called mr haddock? god you could tell me anything tonight and i would believe you

i am glad i will be out tomorrow
it's going to be a complete riot (well quite right too, ruddy woman)

mollyroger · 22/06/2009 19:41

no, I made mr haddock up as i culdn't remeber his real name.

w/r daisy chat - I sort of wish i wasn't at work tomorrow, but then I hate threads where i have to read through my fingers....

Guadalupe · 22/06/2009 19:45

fish thread It's quite funny espeially when the neil person pipes up with talk of lemon and chilli in odd places. It was a bit surreal I think.

I don't think I can give up my tikka salmon with naan bread and cucumber and mint yoghurt with lime pickle though. Wild salmon doesn't ook in the same way.

littlerach · 22/06/2009 19:45

at vest Fran.

Lemur, I have seen that film and whilst I did like it, I was cross at the end because it seemed a waste.
But then again I suppose the fact that I (and you etc) watch it means it isn't a waste.

Tonnes of salad leaves
sweetcorn
pepper
carrot
tomatoes

All with a delicious lime and dill drssing.

pear
raisisn

about to have strawberries.

I think I iwll attempt the chickpeas salad soon as I am running out of stuff ot eat tat lunchtime.

The IL arrive tomorrow.....
Think I am ready

Dh Is Not Ready.
It occured to him that after 16 yrs they may Not Get On. Ya think?

Guadalupe · 22/06/2009 19:45
