Pamina's dd2 in hospital with complications from e coli

She's only just two.
They don't know how she got it.
She's being transferred to a London teaching hospital tomorrow for further treatment as her poor little kidneys have been affected.
Everyone who knows Pamina on here and in RL will know she is being her usual awesomely calm self, despite being pregnant and no doubt very worried, but can we all think of them all tonight and over the weekend and hope that the Swiper is back on her feet soon? I think it would really help.
Thinking of you lots Pamina and family

Dear Pamina:

Just seen Hub2dee's update about your DD on the July antenatel thread.

Wanted to let you know that we are all thinking of you, your DD and the rest of the family. Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery and hope that she will be back home with you all soon.

Take care.

Oh, I'm so glad things are at least stable and probably looking up.

nosyparker · 08/05/2005 18:16

poor you pamina - lots of love and cuddles to your dd and a big hug to you too.

Marina · 08/05/2005 19:35

Well, mixed news really. Dd2 and Pamina herself were in very good form this morning, with dd2 keeping milk down at last and much more alert and responsive (= shouting the odds about ransacking the ward's impressive video cupboard ).
The staff and facilities there really are super, the NHS at its best. I took the printed thread and some pressies and all seemed to be very promising, given dd2's major improvement since her transfusion.
They were waiting on some bloods when I left, but I've since heard that the results aren't too good and she has to have more transfusions over the next few days
She has something called haemolytic uraemic syndrome, which can require dialysis, but so far dd2 has dodged that. Fingers crossed everyone.
Thanks to all for continued good wishes to Pamina, I know some of you know how lonely and worrying it can be keeping watch over a sick child in hospital.
