For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Poor Dd, TooT.
I htink Fran's first answer was v good.

Did you buy any plants?

Glad you got the tent up

SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 20:22

Oh no, I don't mean ignore it completely - certainly deal with it, have strong words and explain why. And tell ALL of them why it is unacceptable.

But if he sounds like he is doing it for attention and to get a rise out of DD and, ime with 10 yr olds, they tire quickly if they don't get a big response.

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 20:26

He gets a most rewarding reaction, which is why he does it. But now she has punched him in the mouth. Not so rewarding.
Would anybody like to borrow some children?

sorky · 23/05/2009 20:57

no thanks TooT I've got enough.
Question: does sex count as the exercise for the day?

SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 20:59

I don't blame her, TooT. Not that punching someone is the right thing to do but perhaps he'll stop now?

Now I've sold my Ergo I nearly cried as I handed it over. DS will be devastated. He still talks about when I used to carry him in it.

Have you met many MN'ers?

today was the first time I've met any in RL and they were lovely.
It was a bit weird though seeing people for the first time who know an awful lot about you iyswim.

Strangely enough it felt as if I'd known them ages, which I suppose I have if I think about it

I think sex should count

littlerach · 23/05/2009 21:21

It si odd, isn't it Sorky?
You knwo things about them too
But nice as well.

Yep, think sex counts.

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 21:35

Oh yes LR, we know things about them.

SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 21:43

Peanut butter with chocolate chips.

I didn't have a sandwich because it would be fattening

Guadalupe · 23/05/2009 21:49

I have just eaten two bowls of cornflakes on the trot.

All this breakfast like a king bollocks doesn't work for me. I ate loads this morning and I have not stopped since.

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 21:50

Peanut butter with chocolate chips??!! Goodness.

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 21:52

How do you breakfast like a king's bollocks?

sorky · 23/05/2009 21:52

peanut butter smells eeeeeeeevil
If Dh wants it I make him eat in another room

pinkspottywellies · 23/05/2009 21:53

I used to sell Fenti mans ginger beer. I think Avi's right - about 1/2 a %. And I think if you're very sensitive that might well have gone to your head.

Went to chinese tonight and had quite a respectable amount of veg considering - broccoli and mushrooms, sweetcorn in my soup, beansprouts, peppers. Probably 2 portions. I did have about 8 plates of food though I was eating loooong after everyone else had finished but I was really hungry - not just 'oh it's all you can eat so I'll have more!'

Going to my mum's tomorrow so might be a bit scare for the week.

SuperBunny · 23/05/2009 22:09

TooT

Mmmm, chinese

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 22:34

Of course it was alcoholic - anything with fermented yeast and sugar is! But the amount of alcohol s negligible.

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 22:39

it wasn't [grumpy]

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 22:42

I am hypersensitive to tea...actual tea...a proper teabag waved briefly through hot water gives me a headache. It didn't used to.

Guadalupe · 23/05/2009 22:42

I reckon you'd caught the sun.

FrannyandZooey · 23/05/2009 22:43

i wasn't in the sun [tetchy]

TooTicky · 23/05/2009 22:44

You would have to have good gloves to do that.
