For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It's for the bathroom. I do really like them, they look fun. It's just we have to spend SO much on everything, the house is literally a shell, we are having to cut back a lot.

I can't imagine them in the front room!

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:33

Yes, mine are in the bathroom with rivets. It does look good Guad.

Hmm. Thing is, it's probably a bit of a rip off, and you could get good lino which will look and feel just the same but without rivets. I always like that rubber or lino not sure which flooring with photographic grass and daisies on. I have tried to persuade dd she'd love it for her room. She thinks not.

It looks v. groovy in their sitting-room. I don't think I'd dare though.

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:36

Look! Look at the grass one. Get that for your bathroom.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:39

It sounds great.

I think the green spotty lino is probably going for the raised rubber look, maybe we will stick with that. There is a man by the local shops selling beds and carpet and there never seems to be anyone in there. He was so helpful and funny, a bit like delboy, that I feel obliged to return. Silly isn't it.

Anyway, I want the butler sink with two compartments which is much more so we have to make choices.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:41

lol at the grass

look at those gerberas, I think I'd feel like I had permanent labarynthitis, either sinking through the floor or it coming up over my head.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:42

The grass is the best one. The water and stones would be a bit naff, no?

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:43

I quite like the bold stripes on that website. The blue bold stripes.

Yes. I think you are v. sensible, and the butler sink much more important than grass on your bathroom floor. Rubber flooring is a rip off really, so get good lino and be pleased with your sink.

how exciting. Am still waiting for the collage.

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:43

yes to water and stones being naff. Especially the stones.

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:44

Apologizes now to all 10/10ers with pebble-effect lino floors.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:45

God, the collage. I am so crap. Well, I may as well do it at the end now, if it ever comes.

The radiators are mining the metal I should think, they are taking so bloody long.

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:47

What will they be like? Will they be those ones that go high up on the wall and come in scarlet? I've always wanted those [shallow]

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:50

They won't be high, they will be low and fat with those old schooly columns. I am afraid they are coming in a rather dull pewter.

ahundredtimes · 07/05/2009 10:51

They sound nice. I have boring white thin normal ones. Are tedious. I am googling modern radiators. Golly. there's one called Hollywood that goes all around the door frame. Most odd.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:54

We are having normal ones upstairs except for our bedroom. I wanted the low fat ones downstairs so you can sit on them when it's cold.

Guadalupe · 07/05/2009 10:55

Right, dh is making gestures about leaving for errands so better go. He likes the grass too, but then again he likes those loo seats that have barbed wire in them. Thanks for links.

littlerach · 07/05/2009 11:15

We turfed our garden last year and it is v v good.

I also planted seed that didn't take as well.

raisins

TooT, iwent to BoA on panic buying missionm today and there was a lovely amrket on near the library. WE must go one day. 1st and 3rd Thursdays.

Boco · 07/05/2009 11:55

Lol at the grass tiles, those people are so amused by them they can't walk. It does remind me a bit of the old farm house we moved into that hadn't been decorated since the 50's, and there was mock brick wall paper in every room. Was v. odd illusion.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 07/05/2009 13:21

lol at the mock brick wallpaper, I remember that.

Turf gives you instant gratification but you shouldn't walk on it until it knits itself to the soil below (anything from 1-3 weeks). You also need to be very diligent about watering it, otherwise it shrinks and you get gaps between the turf.

There are grass places on the Fens where you can rock up with a trailer and get good price turf.

Oh, I would love those chunky school looking radiators, but we may be going for underfloor heating in the rooms where we would put them.

TooTicky · 07/05/2009 14:08

God, you are all actually grown ups with real houses, aren't you?

TooTicky · 07/05/2009 14:12

Market sounds interesting LR...farmers market?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/05/2009 14:30

I would LOVE a wetroom with that rubbery stuff,

Infact if I was a grown up with a proper house, all I would want is a wetroom, a nice sofa, a lush bed (with brushed linen, lavendar scented sheets), and a basic but bespoke kitchen. Oh and a library/musicroom/studio, and a walk in wardrobe....

Ok a proper house then...but less clutter..

If you take soup of the list I am bolloxed....

or smoothies..

A short but exhilerating run by the river and I am sorry but it is sooooooo lovely around here, bluebells and bunnies and kingfishers and lush green grass and bubbling water and dippers on the river.

I am going to cricket with DS tomorrow and hope it stays like this, will be very civilised and we are cycling to match. Just need a picnic basket and ladies bike so I can wear something elegant and drink tea with my little finger crooked...

mollyroger · 07/05/2009 14:37

I have put on a stone i think

It's not about the weight itself. It's more about the fact it has all gone onto my stomach and i look 5 months' pg and all clothes are slightly uncomfy.

Focus. I shall. I eschewed biscuits this morning. But succombed to cherry cake at the buffet lunch at work do. But it had real cherries in it. (and the slices were only stmp sized.)

lolol at the distressed cupboard coincidence!

littlerach · 07/05/2009 16:25

TooT, a country market

They had the most divine looking carrot cake, it had more icing than cake.
And polenta cake.
And quiches and tarts.

And f&v stalls

We had our carpets cleaned today and they are rather damp so we are balancing in our bedroom on the bed as it is the only room not damp.

TooTicky · 07/05/2009 16:47

Mits, I have dipper envy.

Molly {{{{}}}} I am NOT good person for advice but it will soon be lovely salad weather again and all will be well.

Sounds good LR

TooTicky · 07/05/2009 16:52

My grandmother was very proper and well spoken, but delightfully naughty when caught in the right mood.
I remem, ber once, as a child, standing at a bus stop with her....she bent down and hissed in my ear, "Here comes Mrs. Piss-hat," just before formally introducing us.
