I know it's Sunday morning an d all that but I have been up all night and my symptoms are freaking me out.

I had piles when I was pregnant, they were painful and bled a little, but that was almost 3 years ago.

Last night I had nasty stomach cramps, diarrhoea and then massive amounts of bleeding from my bottom, including clots . I felt really weak and went to bed. I woke up at about 3am and more lower back pain and cramps, lots more blood loss and no poo, at this point I thought I was going to pass out.

This morning, more blood although less of it, lots of lower back pain, no poo.

I dont think I have external piles, and I was wondering if this sounds "normal" for piles?

Im sorry its so early but really could do with some advice. As you can imagine...a trip to the docs if its not necessary is the last thing I want to do.

Morning all. Im fine. Ive had a flood of people to speak to in RL and Im right at the end of my college course...I know. No excuses....

Well, great news is my bowel is fine! Possible burst internal polyps but all fine.

My stomach ulcer needs further investigation as does my lung. I also have to have a scan on my liver (which really hurts) because of a lesion (?).

Ive been told to change my diet and de-stress (ha ha ha ha ha ha) and no ibuprofen.

Im chuffed that my bowel is nothing serious but seriously think that all this other stuff is just dragging and its starting to piss me off.

Anyway, for me I think thats the end of bumwatch...thanks for your support everyone. Its really meant a lot x

Phew! and I really mean that. I am so pleased that all is well. I hope all goes just as well with all the other stuff you have going on

Elibean · 17/06/2009 11:35

Phew!!

I'm sorry you still have loads of health issues to deal with, but no bowel cancer is hugely good.

Good luck dealing with the rest

Awh MSTG. I don't think you sound ungrateful at all. I can so relate to how you feel. Hopefully they won't keep you hanging about waiting for the other tests for too long. It would be nice to know the final outcome if you feel like posting to update us I for one will still be thinking of you xx

expatinscotland · 17/06/2009 13:04

Thanks for the update, MSTG! When are you other tests? So glad your bum is okay

ThingOne · 17/06/2009 13:14

Good news on the bowel front. Very pleased to hear that. You don't sound ungrateful. My health issues really piss me off too. I think it's normal to feel like that and anyone who tells me otherwise can piss off too .

Does your liver hurt or are the saying the scan will hurt? I have MRIs for mine, which I hate, but they don't hurt. I need valium I hate them so much.

Buda · 17/06/2009 13:17

Very good news. Hope the other bits get sorted soon.

Elibean · 17/06/2009 13:22

You don't sound ungrateful, I read your post as exactly what you say - relieved at having lovely bowels, but upset at having so much still to deal with.

Re liver pain, I used to think I had lots (I had chronic hepatitis for years, then was treated for it and it went) but found out in the end it wasn't liver pain at all It was large bowel IBS-ishness, probably due to all my anxiety about my liver! Even liver biopsies hurt in places other than my liver - I think livers are fairly nerve-less. So what I'm trying to say, badly, is try not to worry about the pain - even though it hurts, which is horrid, the odds are good that it doens't mean anything awful about your liver.

Do let us know, when you can

SpawnChorus · 17/06/2009 13:37

MSTG - I am soooo glad your bowels are fine! That's great news Hope the other problems are sorted out quickly and painlessly.

I've just had a letter from my consultant saying that my test results are back and show elevated inflammation markers in the blood, and significantly elevated in my poo sample. All other blood and poo tests were clear, so he has recommended that I take Crohn's medication (Pentasa/Mesalazine...quite a hefty dose).

I'm feeling pissed off about that too. I really fecking resent having to take medication when pregnant, when I'm such a stickler for eating lovely pure food, breathing fresh air etc (I'm a bit precious about my feotuses, aren't I? ).

Anyway, wouldn't it be lovely if we could get everyone on this thread back in tip top health?

ellymae · 17/06/2009 14:02

MSTG, that's great news about your bowels! My only niggle with what you said is the bit about possible burst polyps. Did the consultant suggest this? Is he happy that you now have no polyps that he could see? The only reason I mention this is that my consultant is hell bent on checking me out for polyps as he is obviously worried about them. Sorry don't want to come across as being negative on such good news.

good luck with the rest of your tests though and hope they're not too painful and all come back with the right results.

I've just had my appt through for my barium enema to take place next Mon! Trouble is we've got a very social weekend planned with visiting friends so there's no way I can do the bowel prep so will have to rearrnge for later in the week. Can't believe I've got to go through the whole picolax thing again only 2 weeks after the last lot - can't say I was chuffed to see those sachets fall out of my appointment letter!!

has anyone had a barium enema? Is there anything I need to know about that the hospital won't tell me?!

choochoochaboogie · 17/06/2009 15:57

Fantastic news about the bowel MSTG - hope the other problems get sorted out quickly and satisfactorily [smil]

Ellymae - I've only had the barium meal that you have to drink and then have lots of xrays - sounds like it is approaching you from the other end . As for going down the throat all I can suggest is holding your nose and drinking it very very quickly - try not to let it hit the taste buds - gets the operation over and done with quickly.
However I wish you well with having it up the other end, sounds grim but might not be so bad - good luck

Plonketyplonk · 17/06/2009 17:42

That's great news on the bum front, MoreSpam! Operation Bumwatch draws to a close. I hope the rest of your investigations go well!

MrsEricBana · 19/06/2009 11:36

ellymae - just to say have had a barium enema and apart from it not being entirely dignified (and the doctor was lovely about it so not that bad) it was fine. Certainly didn't hurt. Good luck.
