For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Morning!

What a lovely start to the day, Franny. I suspect next week you will have the morning in bed while DP takes the children out. Then you will do a wholesome family activity and everyone will enjoy it and no-one will get upset or whine and then, SP will cook a fabulous meal while supervising the DC so that you can MN in peace. Then he will bathe the children and put them in bed.

Stuffit - its a book. 100s.

SuperBunny · 15/03/2009 13:26

SP is DP. Obvisouly

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2009 13:28

Top title

I have also spent the mrning in bed

I didn;t get up until midday [result]

Next weekend will not be restful as we have DS party on Sat and then my Mum & grandmother for lunch on Sunday, so it was now or never.

I am just going to go and plant some veg seeds

May have some leftver if anyone wants anything

SuperBunny · 15/03/2009 14:40

I planted seeds yesterday. Was lovely. I sowed them inside though, just in case of frost but I have:

golden beets
green peppers
sage
cinnamon basil

and this week I will sow:
chilis
pimentos
broccoli

SuperBunny · 15/03/2009 15:06

I'm about to go and pick up a bike for DS. With pedals! It's pink with pink tassles on the handlebars though and he is in a 'pink is for girls' phase atm. I don't know where he got that idea. It's odd because he loves coming to work with me so he can dress up - his outfit of choice is a blue tutu with matching bag, fairy wings and blue high heels (play ones). He says he is a 'man girl'

littlerach · 15/03/2009 15:25

Hey, SB, seeds sound v good.
I have potatoes ready to go in and carrots and onions.

I have never grown potatoes and have some pots but am not sure how deep they need to be?

TooT, yes really will hold your hand!!

have had marvelous day with mum and sis here and partners and neice who is so scrumptious I really could gobble her up. But I Resisted.
It is so warm and sunny I feel lovely and summery.

And my mum has goven me a black bag full of clothes. She wears v nice things and buys lots but has out on weight due to HRT so is giving me her cast offs .

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2009 16:08

It's OK Franny I think you have a couple of weeks window

I do have some pepper seeds left if anyone wants any?

I also have loads of salad leaves as seem to have accumulated free sample ones from magazines etc.

I did...

Cherry Toms
Green peppers
Sweet red peppers
Aubergines (after my success last year, am hopeful)
Basil

and DS did pumpkins and sunflowers

I also did some sweetcorn but the seeds were pretty old so not confident they will germinate.

DH is cooking roast chicken and I am like a Bisto kid

pinkspottywellies · 15/03/2009 17:28

We had a carvery at the pub for lunch and I really loaded up on the veg so...

parsnips, peas, carrots, sprouts

but I didn't have any for breakfast cause I had a lie in. Will have salad for dinner and fruit and juice.

I need to look for my seeds. I think there are some in the garage (buried beneath the racing car which hasn't been touched for months ) and some in my bedroom and kitchen.

Boco, you have some experiences don't you

DD found some other children to play with today. Isn't it wonderful how they do that

FrannyandZooey · 15/03/2009 17:33

FairLadyRantALot · 15/03/2009 17:42

Huhu...I am not worthy....I have been rubbish and unfocussed and think will have another week like that....than I should be able to fully focus, aswell as properly clean this pigsty which is our home....sigh!

Hope all is well with you all!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/03/2009 18:24

Hi Fairlady, I hope everything is going ok with your in-laws.

I need some focus after this weekend. Franny can I have a kick up the arse and a dose of focus please?

Has 100 been back to tell us how spiffy her launch was? I've started her book and I'm v excited about reading it.

pinkspottywellies · 15/03/2009 18:34

I keep feeling a little overwhelmed at the thought that I will be ds's sole source of nutrition for 6 months. But we're 3 weeks in already and it's all going well so it should fly by Although I think we're going to need to enlist the help of some gripe water soon! Windy little fella!

ds1 went to 2 parties this weekend
they both had pinatas and in both cases the pinatas took FOREVER to bust and all the children were stuck there way after the party was meant to finish, waiting for it

ugh I hate this.. go away for a bit and find it so hard to get back in the swing of everything.. like trying to join in five conversations at once and going "what? what?" all the time

thanks SB and Toot, I'd forgotten I don't have a copy and won't for a while due to shitola post (we got a Christmas present yesterday)

loads of tomatoes, carrots and a couple of satsumas. Maybe six. Am eating lots of linseeds at mo.
