For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

May I take this opportunity to add my name to the list of people who know someone who has done very nicely thankyouverymuch despite having hearing loss in one ear? Most people who know her have no idea.

WRT limitations, dh has a chronic illness which has limited his career choices but in all honesty it hasn't held him back. I think he would have loved to have been a train driver though which is something he can't do. He's always known so he's always been able to make sure that he's allowed to do something before he gets his hopes up.

Mango Mingers.

Pink I am sorry to hear about ds. I hope you are ok

pinkspottywellies · 14/03/2009 19:59

Thanks Tatties, at the moment I keep reminding myself that it would be much worse to have a baby with colic

Hairdressers have so much power. It's scary. No-one is good at talking to hairdressers, surely? Although I have just spoken to mine (SIL) and we've agreed that I'll have to go brown next time cause I'm too old for blonde (according to Lemur's oestrogen theory!)

Right, have to be really quick cause I'm going to bed early, so

apricots
peas
Total of 7 - not bad (also had belgian waffles with chocolate sauce and cream )

Did I tell you I lost 1lb between Mon and Fri? Despite having had waffles, a tub of pate, a cinema sized bag of maltesers, another of aero balls and far too much tea (2 sugars) and coffee (1 sugar). Hoorah and huzzah for breastfeeding Can't wait to get ds weighed and see how much he's put on!

pinkspottywellies · 14/03/2009 20:07

Can someone who's namechanged try and see my photos and make sure it's only my mates that can see them please!? I keep wondering!

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 14/03/2009 20:13

Colic.....

Oh the crying, the endless crying and changing diet, and walking and walking, and patting and patting and rubbing tummies,

Oh don't mention colic.......

FrannyandZooey · 14/03/2009 20:16

AtillasGotABrandNewBag · 14/03/2009 21:10

Molly...

I am all in. I wish I had a laptop. Could sit like lady la-de-da and MN and beat --toot- at play scrabble.

So good-night you lovely veggers, have fun and sweet dreams all..

Boco · 14/03/2009 22:01

Pink sorry to hear about the hearing thing - I can't remember if I said that last night. Hope you're alright.

I went to Norwich today, and got to cuddle squishy baby nephew in cafe while feral girls dug in cafe plant pots. dd2 dug up a ring! In a potted palm. A proper one with fancy stones. We handed it in to member of staff. It meant dd1 and niece set off with their cafe spoons to search through the rest of the potted palms, which made me uneasy. Dd2 thought she'd found a meatball, but it was a false alarm.

And, I got karate chopped by an old lady in a motorised wheelchair! She thought I was about to step out in front of her in House of Fraser, so she did a preemptive karate chop strike on my arm. It hurt!

That is my exciting news of the day.

Oh there was vegetables and fruit but you know how all that goes.
