For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'll tell you now stuffit cause at the moment if I don't do something immediately I don't do it!!

I don't think about anything. I'm vacuous and shallow

Seriously though, I can't remember. Probably what I'm going to eat when I get home. And just about the running - how far to the next tree, how many laps left to go. I have music too so I don't have to think about anything else.

See. Vacuous

OK TooT. That's fine But don't overdo it

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 21:25

Hello Wombling. I am only just starting really but it feels quite addictive. It is quite nice that I am seeing small improvements day by day.

TooTicky · 23/03/2009 22:24

I am a wreck.

stuffitllama · 24/03/2009 02:20

Dauphinoise is cream and garlic. That's not allowed is it? Can you not even have organic free range? Sorry, I'm getting muddled up. If you have eggs can you not have milk? Oh but you don't eat eggs. I should know this.
Both my sisters are ovo-pescatarian so I should know.

Pink, I'm sure you are not vacuous and shallow. I had an idea that everyone thought deep thoughts but maybe that's not true. I'm like you Womble - "I'm not going to stop" pant "I'm not going to stop" pant "I'm not going to stop" etc etc.

Have eaten a satsuma. Pizza after school at the Italiaan Cutural Centre. They do a good one.

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 02:41

oh, you've been busy

ahundred has been interogating people and stealing prawns from her athlete

who had a washing line crisis? Lemur? And we have washing sniffers among us

Tigerfeet & Wombling were here

Pink did not wee on the trampoline

Stuffit has an fascinating but unhappy situation and can't cycle with a watermelon

Franny had a shitty day

FK went to the gym

LR always wanted to go to boarding school (I did too - like The Worst Witch)

Toot is not well and needs love and hugs and food

Bee is a crap shopper and has tummy buttocks.

I saw a shop named Guadalupe and thought of our Guad.

Lettuce
Fruit salad
Juice
broccoli
raisins

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 02:43

Fabulous Pictures, Stuffit

TooTicky · 24/03/2009 06:50

Good round up SB.

No Stuff, no eggs or cream or milk. None of those congealy things.

FrannyandZooey · 24/03/2009 08:21

stuffit are you sure that is you? it looks like someone's older daughter to me

right i had a wobbler yesterday but today looks better
problems were:
-neighbourhood boy who i still haven't found time to tell you about
-big long planned home ed event threatening to go all wrong and then when i kind of salvaged it people saying ah we don't want to go now as it isn't the same
-stress over a friend's shoddy behaviour to her family but i have bored guad to death on that one
-ds2's bottom deteriorating. have ordered 3 different creams which will DEFINTELY fix it. won't they. oh yes. hurrah. so no worries there

TooT i will be honest i am not sure what to do or say when you post about running at 6 am and not eating and feeling dizzy and being a wreck. we'd all like to help, but there is this thing about you not wanting us to talk about it, and if we do talk about it you pretend not to know what we mean
so what can we say?
why not start another thread and people can see if they can be helpful on it?
but we can't be helpful on here if you say "i am dizzy and haven't eaten" and then when we express concern about you looking extremely thin then you say it is the way you were standing
come on now

Hello

Last time I posted, I wanted to see pics. TooT and Lemur added me, and then I had a truly freaky laptop malfunction so I could see the pics but couldn't post to say Little Lemur made me feel broody and TooT's hair was great. But he did and it was.

That was on about Saturday I think.

mangolassi · 24/03/2009 08:50

And now I'm posting in the middle of people's difficulties.

7 staff? Did you send some away? I don't think I could cope - by which I mean, how do you have arguments with 7 relative strangers in the house? Sounds unbearable. Hope that school works out, it's hard to revise choices that you were so sure of before, but it's okay. (Remember you're the only person who was attached to the previous choices anyway, noone else is judging you).

And BabyFranny's bottom - but he looks fine in the pics. Now that it's been better once, can you console yourself with the knowledge that it will get better again? If not, hope creams are magic.

What else? TooT needs to eat. Eat, TooT.

Boco · 24/03/2009 09:15

Stuffit how could you think that anyone would ever get bored of hearing about your life in another country- if any of us took off to live in another country you'd be fascinated by it all, so are we! Tell us stuff!

Franny hope ds2s bottom is made better by new creams.

Toot, eat, I think exercise is great for endorphins and health generally, obviously, but i'm worried about how self destructive it sounds right now, running of every bit of food.

Dd still off school, loads to do, lost my glasses.

womblingalong · 24/03/2009 09:28

TooT sweet, you need to look after yourself, your children need you to. Running is good, as it is doing something for you, but not eating is not giving your body the things it needs to run or function efficently.

womblingalong · 24/03/2009 09:30

Hi Boco,

Is DD1 improving at all? Will she be easily distracted today, or does she still want help with crafty stuff?

Franny,

Fingers crossed that the creams work for DS2

Boco · 24/03/2009 09:34

Hi Wombling. Yes she is much better, school tomorrow I think. She still looks a bit grey and is sleeping a lot so thought she could probably do with another day.

We're going to need another thread soon aren't we?

ahundredtimes · 24/03/2009 10:17

Nonsense, I like the subliminal advertising on this one!

TooT, oh TooT. I am going to start a campaign for Honesty and Transparency on the 10/10 thread. I shall ask you lots of questions too, having pulled Stuffit out of the shadows and made her share.

There can be no more seepage through the cracks, or quiet remarks that are clearly far from quiet, just plain old fashioned Anne-like talking and then support.

We are all going to be brave and honest forthwith

I have walked the dog. Bravely and honestly.

ahundredtimes · 24/03/2009 10:25

I do want to hear about the boy in the street at some point too. I think we've heard about him before haven't we? Is it the same one?

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 12:58

Franny, I could send you more lotions and creams but I suspect they will not be any more help than any of the other ones you have tried. My faveourite is Butt Paste but only because of the awful name. Hope your day is better than yesterday. I often have situations like your Home Ed group and usually end up wanting to shout, "Fine, I won't bother then. You can sort it out yourselves, you lazy, ungrateful fuckwits" but obviously I just smile and organise stuff and then they say, "Oh, Superbunny, you do so much, always organising things..." and I smile and don't say, "Well that's because nobody else will do it"

Thinking of Toot.

SuperBunny · 24/03/2009 12:59

faveourite

favourite

littlerach · 24/03/2009 13:36

Ha, love Butt Paste, that is v funny

Can anyone talk contraception with me?

The Pill to be precise?

Are there risks associated?

TooTicky · 24/03/2009 13:44

I am fine, honestly. Well, not fine, but I am eating food. And that wasn't why I was dizzy anyway.
I shouldn't have said I was a wreck but I just felt like one. It was late and I was tired and stressed.

LR, I took it for a while but that was when I was young and didn't ask many questions. Isn't it made of horse wee or something? And it makes you wee more oestrogen or something which goes into rivers and makes fish change gender. Those weren't the sort of risks you meant though were they.
Thank you for textinmg I am replying v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.

Thank you all for being lovely and caring

Guadalupe · 24/03/2009 13:53

Eating food isn't enough though is it. You need to swallow it, digest it and allow your body to do with it what it will for your health and well being, not run up and down to a bridge before you get a chance to repad your bony arse.

You should have gone to bed when you were tired.

I took the pill as a teenager but whenever I tried since then it turned me into a banshee and the world and his brother begged me to stop.

mollyroger · 24/03/2009 14:04

morning. Or afternoon. I have dragged myself from my sick bed to share my snot of many colours with you all Don't ever say i don't do sharing....

3 clementines,
a banana
pineapple
Chervil and parsley on my eggs on toast...
Vit C in High does...

HAVE to go back to work tomorrow. I feel so ahsamed having taken to my sick bed for what is, really, just a bad cold.

I want to hear about boy in street Franny.

100, still haven't got your book. Despite having shown your book to ds in Waterstones, and DH on amazon and mentioned your name 100 times to DH so it would sink in, they all claimed not to be able to remember the title or author. So I was given the latest No. 1 Ladies Detective Agenecy book instead.
I mean, I don't want to be ungrateful, I promise but.....

Guadalupe · 24/03/2009 14:06

Are you going to Solfest again, Molly? We wanted to go to the Latitude as it's so close but the line up isn't great and it's pricey. We're sticking with camping this summer I think.

littlerach · 24/03/2009 14:07

See, this is my quandry.
I was on the pill as a yoof, then again after dd1. But after dd1 I felt like i was a bit loopy from it, came off it and was much better.
Then went back on a couple of years later and was ok ish.

We now use condoms. But I do worry that they are not as effective and i cwouldn't want another child at the moment.

However, I don't want dh to have snip, in case I change my mind (quite unlikely).

So thought about pill.
But I htink risks (health) are higher now (am 33).
