For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

That seems a shame Franny, for you to have to stop. Maybe you could try, but with strict instructions that they come and find you if he cries for more than a few moments. Maybe he was having a bad day? Hope that's all it was. It's good to get some time isn't it.

I just looked at dd1 and her eyeballs are totally bright red, it looks quite awful. She says that her eyes don't hurt at all, why would they go this red? She's really rough today, not used to it as she's hardly ever ill. She's a MUCH easier patient though, she's been sleeping and cuddling, rather than wheezily swinging from the ceiling like dd2 does.

Have been trying to do drawing today but it's been really hard with both girls needing things and asking things every 2 minutes, am desperate for childcare for dd2 right now as can't concentrate at all. Want soundproof booth.

stuffitllama · 19/03/2009 18:22

Thank you for all kind messages. It is not fun but other people have such huge things going on too I don't want to sponge.

Boco glad you got immediate prob sorted out but red eyes? I don't know. I am an inveterate googler which is a Bad Thing but I hope she has a good sleep. Does it mean watching for you? As a non Calpoller I was a keeling over on arse in the corner of the bedroom in the middle of the night type watcher. Sorry if that lies ahead for you tonight.

Fran isn't it amazing how other people "know" what is better for your dc than you. And completely ignore what you've said. But your need for the gym as a destresser is quite great at the moment no?

I have eaten so much papaya I am in fact now about 90 per cent papaya. And ten per cent sultanas. With a satsuma nose. The Fry's chocolate cream hurrah for my mum's food parcels doesn't count for anything AT ALL, no.

FrayedKnot · 19/03/2009 18:47

Stuffit I couldn;t find your thread. Would you mind saying which topic it was in?

Are papayas in season?

Franny that is not great. is it? I suppose next tme you wil just have to be very firm when you leave them. I wouldn;t not go though.

Pink...eats loads of cake and the minute anyone else around sit yourself down on sofa and do NOT budge.

Blueberries
Sultanas
Kiwis (2)
Carrots

Am going to gym.

Have made a fairly successful looking cake.

FrayedKnot · 19/03/2009 18:49

Sorry Boco meant to say also hope DD1 is on the medn son. I think sometimes they get that red eye thing when they have a temp don;t they?

FrayedKnot · 19/03/2009 18:49

mend soon

stuffitllama · 19/03/2009 18:56

hi FK

I would like to see your cake and tomorrow I will CHECK

I am the crap mum in living overseas, but quite proud today as three hours of overdue homework was done

not sure if it's because of newly established routines or the new high dose of zinc I'm funnelling down him

yes they are in season but do you know I missed mango season apparently.. i was waiting for it then blink it was over. I don't understand that at all.

May I just ask everyone something that I ought to put in TTC but really it's more about nutrition rather than pharma.

My friend has been trying for four years for a second child and I've just recommended her the book about eating oneself pregnant.

I'm no expert (ha that's for sure) but I've said about zinc and linseed oil. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge in this area? I think it's a new approach for her after a lot of focus on "conventional" routes.

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 18:58

I think sex can be quite effective

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 18:59

oh god sorry, fingers faster than sense

mollyroger · 19/03/2009 18:59

evening all.
Strawberries
Leeks
Onions
Grapes
Orange juice

Bakes beans
Mushrooms
tomatoes

stuffitllama · 19/03/2009 19:01

hi Toot
maybe sex in a bath of flax oil
how is your bottom which we are all glad you have

am going to bed -- the bedroom door has just been firmly and meaningfully closed which gives me a window of five minutes before harrumphing and tutting

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 19:03

My bottom? God, what have I told you?

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 19:03

Oh yes, that I have a bottom. Yes. It is still here.

littlerach · 19/03/2009 19:31

Evening ladies.

I hope dd1 feels better soon, Boco.
Can dp look after them so you can get some work doen?

More carrots
sweetcorn

I am working again tomorrow.
And dd1 has a Learning Showcase in the afternoon that we are invited to attend.
She has o wear a toga, they are serving Roman food and also will have gladiators and wrestlers.

Anyone spot the theme?

And the house is rather a tip.

We are thinking about getting a couple of chickens. Just thinking, for now. Dh would like them to run around the garden in a fun manner; I like my garden and wouldn't want it pecked over. We have to find a Compromise.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/03/2009 19:47

blueberries
banana
dried fruit
carrots
cucumber
mushrooms
peppers
sweetcorn
tomatoes
apple
cherries

Eff all exercise though. But I did get to cuddle a 6 day old baby. Oh, he was lush.

I love the idea of chickens, but not the chicken shit. I would only consider them if i had a huge garden.

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 19:54

cherry tomatoes
red pepper
very small carrot
probably about 1 portion in all

7ish miles walking

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 19:54

oh and some garden digging

littlerach · 19/03/2009 19:56

Ours isn't huge.
At all.

Well done, TooT

TooTLooP · 19/03/2009 20:08
mollyroger · 19/03/2009 20:13

oh poo. Star Trek bollocks is on and I just wanted to veg out and watch mindless tv....

pinkspottywellies · 19/03/2009 20:38

Just glanced at 'threads I'm on' and saw 'maybe sex in a bath' 'my bottom'

ROFL!

FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2009 20:56

well if i get all togged up to go and then pay for half an hour and then leave them and then have to come back cos he is crying, i will be disappointed and a bit disgruntled
i'll be lucky to get 15 mins i think and i'll have to pay £3.20 (on top of my usual gym fees [tight])

anyway
i can still go once a week at weekends
it just does put a bit of a shine on the day when i manage to go mid week
it'll pass

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 19/03/2009 20:57

BUT
on the bright side
i did do half an hour at the gym before realising my child had been hideously neglected
