For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh! They are sending me 100's book too, am excited. No Book Group here any more unfortunately, it fizzled out when loads of members moved away, I miss the snacks and booze intellectual discussions.

mollyroger · 03/03/2009 09:34

the bloody postman is probably far too busy delivering your sodding books to bother with me!

womblingalong · 03/03/2009 09:38

Oh Molly,

I have my fingers crossed for you, you sound so nervous. Is this the only decent school around for DS?

mollyroger · 03/03/2009 09:46

no, we have a town chock full of lovely schools. My problem is i live virtually next door to a hell-hole No-Hope High which is never oversubscribed. And all the other schools are always massively ovesubscribed. 2 are religiously selective in the case of over-subscription.
. 1 is shiny shiny Super-School (the catchment are is 0.5 mies )
1 is perfectly decent but 3 miles away.
I haven't put the awful school on my list but it does happen that if you don't get into the nice schools, they sling you at No-Hope High regardless of whether it was on your list.
hence my nerves.
Sorry for being boring but I have been having nightmares about this day (and fantasising about being able to afford to move) for YEARS

FrannyandZooey · 03/03/2009 09:50

molly keeping fingers crossed for you

Fingers crossed for you Molly.

Avi love the picture, I hope she finds a friend though.

womblingalong · 03/03/2009 09:51

You're not being boring, it sounds very stressful, I think as a parent, especially as a mum you always panic/worry about anything to do with DC's, especially Education and socialising, IME.

I know a little bit of how you feel. I am quite stressed about how DD is doing at school having started in January, and she said something on the way to school about not having friends that had me in tears!

ahundredtimes · 03/03/2009 10:11

That prostitute thread is quite interesting.

Good luck Molly, god no, you do not sound boring. It sounds very very stressful though. I really hope he brings you good news.

littlerach · 03/03/2009 10:33

Good luck today, Molly.

I have had an awful morning. Had to leave music class because ds2 wouldn't stop running around and every so often one of the others would join him and the mum would say really pointedly, no, Jehosephat, we DON'T run around at music class and then look at me.

What am I supposed to do, pin him down? After the teacher told him to sit down and he wouldn't I thought fuck this and said come on ds2, lets go to the park. Then I felt shit and judged all the way up the road. Am normally quite good at not caring but it bothered me today.

Boco · 03/03/2009 13:41

Oh dear Guad - starey woman sounds silly though. When i used to take dds to singing in the library all the kids would rush off amongst the books and you'd be left singing old macdonald with 7 other grown women and a sleeping baby.

I'm going on a one day course tomorrow 'what the fuck should I do with my life!' or something along those lines. By the end of it I will know my ideal job, and be able to get it, it's going to change everything, this time next year I'm going to be really incredibly rich. Just you wait.

mollyroger · 03/03/2009 14:14

we got third choice. (bog standard, decent comp 3 miles away) Am a bit diappointed but relieved it wasn't the scary awful local one.

OsmosisBanana · 03/03/2009 14:16

Do you all go to book groups? I thought they were a myth. I don't know anyone in RL who goes to one... Is it fun? Or worthy? Is there booze? Need more information.

I had a bad seminar today. I almost blew it off and then had a word with myself and went in. I needn't have bothered.... She just did some talking about stats and then told us to go and look at a table she had saved in Excel and 'play around with it'

explore corellation and covariant options etc etc.

She didn't tell us what these things mean or how to do them. Bah! And I was so warm in my bed ignoring DD wittering away.

Good luck with the school ting Mo.

OsmosisBanana · 03/03/2009 14:17

ah I see you already know.... Bums.

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 14:46

Glad you didn't end up at Shitsville High Mol. 11+ round here, I am fretting even though it's 6 years away.

Can someone email/FB me re 100's book?

Back later

No f. No v. No exercise. Arghhhhhhhh.

littlerach · 03/03/2009 15:08

Sorry wasn't great one, molly.

OB, Iused to belong to a book club in Bath and loved it. Since we moved here, I know a couple of people that go to them but I think not many peole can read here .
Maybe I iwll start one
Actually, the library have one but I fear it will be older people and there won;t be booze.

Banana

Boco · 03/03/2009 15:14

My one is very boozy and there is very little talk of books, unfortunately. Last one went on til 1am and felt rather ill the next day. We take it in turns to choose the book and there's some right shoite on the list. Enjoying the current one though dr strange and mr norrell, but it's massive and has lots of foot notes.

womblingalong · 03/03/2009 15:17

Oh Molly, glad it wasn't the shitola one, hope you are not too disappointed. I would love to go to another booze book club, if I could find one, the only one I've heard of is the one at our library too Rach, and it sounds far too worthy for me.
