For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Exactly Guad, except in my house the clean washing is in plastic crates that pile up on the landing until I put them away, as no one else will do it.

Oh, and the thing that drives me really potty is the way that DH chucks dirty laundry down the corridor to the bathroom, and then will step over it for literally days on end, or worse still, stack it on top of the laundry basket, not in it, mixing it up with any of the clothes that he has taken off the DC's that could be worn again. [frustrated] [over-reacting]

TF, What a PITA for just 1 kilo. Have you had WB before, I tried with DD, but couldn't hack it.

Pink - You will be fine, I found it was much harder being scared of being on my own with 2 than actually doing it. My best tip is get yourself showered and dressed before DH leaves in the morning, everything else is hard but manageable IME.

pollycazalet · 05/03/2009 16:10

In the early days when you have a good day with two you feel invincible and like the World Best Parent.

Save those moments up to take out and polish for when it's really chaotic....

Laundry is the bane of my life. I have stacks all over the house at the moment. Have just given Sir Cazalet his own laundry basket as he roots through the general one to find stuff and makes it even more chaotic

stuffitllama · 05/03/2009 16:17

mollyroger · 05/03/2009 18:36

sigh. ds2 had another meltdown at school and hurt a chld. Child ok. But timing is just awful as head is writing appeal support letter for ds1 and he is still distraught and dh is over-worked and stressed and I am running on empty. We have been summoned to see head on monday.
I just don't know what is behind this.

3rd day in a row with not quite enough food, let alone frilly food. And rather too much of everything else.
this too will pass...

Boco · 05/03/2009 18:50

Oh dear Molly, sorry to hear that. Good that head is writing appeal letter. Bad that everyone stressed.

Stuffit good luck with the marital underwear.

Tiger glad scan went well! Is always great to get past that bit isn't it.

Hello. Not having a great food day today. I went to see nurse today with list of complaints about myself, and she thinks it's all just hormonal weirdness. What is it that people take that is good for that? Angus something?

mollyroger · 05/03/2009 18:51

castus?

ahundredtimes · 05/03/2009 19:26

Steak House?

Pink, it will be okay, and it'll also be rough going sometimes. It just is. But it doesn't mean you can't do it, it just means there are loads of threads on MN with people saying 'OMG' etc etc. It CAN also be good fun though, important to remember that during the OMG moments.

Moll. Do we think something is up with ds2? Why is he flaring up so much do you think? Does he do it at home? And other questions? Sorry about stress.

World Book Day is tomorrow, rather than today. I am going to create two costumes now, justlikethat, out of nuffing. Verucca Salt and the Artful Dodger.

mollyroger · 05/03/2009 19:27
  1. yes But I really don't want to talk about it on here any more. Lovely toots is counselling me on FB.
ahundredtimes · 05/03/2009 19:31

Oh I'm sorry to have brought it up. And sorry to hear that too. Hope everything okay, and school supportive on Monday. Sounds tough.

Boco · 05/03/2009 19:32

That's it! Angus Steak House, that's what I need. A nice red velour booth with fake mahogany fittings.

No, that's it Molly, thanks. I'm not sure what it does, but people mention it in these kind of situations I think, I should have paid attention.

Guadalupe · 05/03/2009 19:36

Sorry, Molly, that sounds like a lot of stress. Eat!

Isn't it world book today? Ds1 had to dress up and dd came home with a book token.

It was a lot of stress. Ds1 was going as Tom from Tom's Midnight Garden but his pyjamas were too small and he couldn't find his dressing gown cord and a belt made him look like Robin Hood so there were tears and his friend arrived as Mr Gum so he went in his normal clothes with a skull and said he was Hamlet.

DD dressed up today. Her class theme was Peter Pan and handily she was given the entire contents of The Disney Store a Tinkerbell dress (amongst one or two other items) by the IL's at Christmas. Minimum effort required by me. Result.

Molly sorry things are hard.

I went to an Angus Steak House once. Velour and mahogany and crap steak iirc.

Pink you will be shiny and serene and it will all be fine.

One farking kilo . The hospital didn't offer waterbirths when I had dd, when I saw they offer it now I got all excited. I was allowed to wallow in a bath on the labour ward with dd and it was ssoooooo lovely. Mostly though I am annoyed with myself for not sorting my weight out in good time. Feckarse.

SuperBunny · 05/03/2009 20:18

I know BLW means no spoons, but if the baby WANTS to eat from a spoon that you hold, surely it is ok.

Tiger, how annoying.

I am feeling quite cross at a quinoa thread and all the people who claim it is revolting and should be thrown away.

And I am cross that I volunteered to help at the flower show and they wanted me to help but now they are messing around and making me change my plans and I want to say, "Forget it, I won't help now. Piss off"

And I am cross about playgroup - it goes from 10 - 12 usually so I take snacks for DS and we come home for lunch, as did everyone else. Then peopel started bringing lunch but meant DS wanted to eat with them so I had to start bringing lunch. But it's got all competitive now - started with someone bringing a peanut butter sarnie but is now boxes of peanut butter and nutella sandwiches and yoghurts and chewy bars and all sorts. And every week, I do not provide the exciting new thing that everyone else decides to bring so I am always left with the child who scoffs everyone else's food because it is more sugary/ salty/ full of trans fats than his own.

Rant over, sorry

FrayedKnot · 05/03/2009 21:51

Evening

My f&v not fab today but I did an hour in the gym and I have lost weight too which is mainly from cutting down on cheese and cake

Boco I take Agnus Castus and have done for ages now. I think it helps with water retention and possibly mood swings but it doesn;t help my headaches. I have a headache every month, sometimes just before, during or at the end of AF and it's miserable.

In the past I had acupuncture which helped a lot with hormonal things and I a thinking of trying it for my headaches.

I would give either a try.

I am hoping to be better focussed tomorrow. I am defrosting blueberries.

I HATE laundry and there are only 3 of us. I think someone needs to invent clothes that never need washing.

FrayedKnot · 05/03/2009 22:01

Molly sorry you are having a tough time right now

TooTicky · 06/03/2009 06:50

Atilla has a bright red screen on her puter and it won't accept commands. Can anybody help? I have googled but am useless, I don't understand any of it.

TooTicky · 06/03/2009 07:25

it's okay she has sorted it

TooTicky · 06/03/2009 07:34
