I cried when I read how many failures theres been and applauded hub2dees approach as sometimes theres no point pussyfooting....come on guys! Its got to be done.
I am so so so gutted that theres been vile puffing going on...did you REALLY enjoy any of them. Truely satisfying were they? No No No! Tell you what though...waking up knowing that bastard nicotine monster has got no grip on me whatsoever is liberating. I could touch the sky with the high that im free. No chain round my neck.
Remember that just one is never just one and even if it was, why would you want JUST ONE? Your aim is to STOP FOREVER.

I have been totally smoke free for a week now - and yes i am very very proud. Very angry though with my father who is also a smoker. He has been diagnosed with the start of lung disease - in eighteen months if he keeps smoking it will be Emphesema. He quit for three months but is now smoking again. Staying at theirs cause not well with baby and despite my mums repeated pleas, despite my comments and despite the fact that he coughs like an old man CONSTANTLY (he is forty five) he wont bloody stop, not only that but he keeps doing it in the house knowing i DO want to stop thinking we cant smell it. I feel like fags are more important ot him then his family then his grandchild and then his own health. I never never want to touch one again because i am so mad that a bloody addiction is worth so much more to him then all of that!!!!!!

We're proud of you too but grrrrrrrrrrrrrr to your Dad-did he not feel much better when he stopped? It could be that he didnt-my MIL says she has never felt worse since she gave up over a year ago-she has emphesema and is so bloody ill-her cough is never ending! It must be so hard for you as you are alone and about to bring that little boy into life-you are amazing to cope with it all! Keep going!

sadly i have failed, last night i had a fag and this morning and the rest of the day i have smoked. Feel totally stupid. but i won't give up on giving up.

hey charlie cat - just having a bad day for cravings today. Sat down though and wrote a big list of all the reasons i refuse to smoke. Feel a bit better just a little bit down!

Hope you are feeling better now I have been having minor thoughts of...ohhh a fag would be nice , which I thought I had totally got over, but things like not having enough time in a day to sort stuff out and choosing things like carpets is stressing me out and corrupting my brain.
Hope you have reinforced all the reasons why you stopped.
I read somewhere to remember all the reasons you had the day before you finally stoped and to understand that the just one you crave after doesnt exist. And it doesnt, ive had just one and it was awful so ive had another 20 trying to find that fictional one ive dreamt about. It doesnt exist. It really doesnt.
Must get back to my painting, this was my fag free fag break

Oh yes and try and remember that when your feeling low and fancying a fag imagine how low you would feel after smoking a fag and realising all your hard work had just been inhaled and OH MY GOD you now have your nicotine addiction back...aaaaaaaarRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

i know that is what i keep in mind. I have come this far - one will only makeme stink and its my addiction that wants it - not me!!! Horrible stinky fags - dont like them!!!!

Hi FG ....nice to be back, house all magnolia(barf) but better than rampant mismatching colour schemes...playing it safe, am half way through a zillion jobs, grouting, glossing, laying carpets etc and only a couple of things have actually been finished...er one actually...the kids room.
