For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I ran for weeks and it did diddly squat.

Yes, no more beurre. Contraband.

This isn't a very good line, you are all moving around all over the place.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 19:23

that's cardio
weight training is better for muscle tone

Boco · 27/02/2009 19:24

I'm probably in the middle for height - at 5'6, and in the middle for age, at 34, but everyone is more barking than me. I have never even heard of anyone putting butter on a rich tea, that's the most barking thing ever.

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 19:25

You weren't tactless! If you were I didn't notice anyway.

I like the sound of eating like a bird.

No fear of that I think.

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 19:25

another apology as that is rather a statement of the bleedin obvious

i must go up my stannah to bed

will there be a list by height, age, barking proclivity and will there be subsets and vectors

Toot I expect a flipchart presentation and a goody bag at the end of the workshop

TooTicky · 27/02/2009 19:26

Stuffit

stuffitllama · 27/02/2009 19:26

also i would like nuts in the goody bag
i am too old to care what PEOPLE think

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 19:27

Yes, weights. I will do something with bean tins.

Oh, I just remembered. I was talking to one of the builders about WW when I took them some cake. He said I should go and help them with some lugging and brickwork, that would sort out my chicken wings.

I assume he meant batwings.

TooTicky · 27/02/2009 19:28

Oh thank you all for being so nicely loopy, I needed this

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 19:28

Ha ha, up the stanna. Sounds like a carry on film.

mollyroger · 27/02/2009 19:29

checking in with a 5ft 6 (nestles next to Boco, on the lower end, figuring her curls might add on a nano-inch above me)

and Very Old at 39 this year. May I star regressing in age?

quite barking, but not very, I do have a life-saving sensible streak in me.

And today I can claim absolutely no fruit or beg at all. But I will be having leeks, broclli, carrots and beans for dinner smothered in cheese sauce and I did 3 hours' allotment digging.

TooTicky · 27/02/2009 19:32

No no Avi, we are doing barking now, you are quite safe

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 19:32

did you eat saladx3 at one meal, avi, or have a salad with every meal?

TooTicky · 27/02/2009 19:33

33

Boco · 27/02/2009 19:33

Sorry Avi, I was just being more trying.

Dp is cooking, which is great, but his meals always take about three hours and i'm STARVING.

TooTicky · 27/02/2009 19:33

mollyroger · 27/02/2009 19:41

Guad. I've met you, remember. You are ever so slightly barking. Which is Good!

Guadalupe · 27/02/2009 19:42

Be quiet, you.

FrannyandZooey · 27/02/2009 19:43

avi "would like life coach but cannot imagine anyone under 35"??

guad running for a few weeks won't do it - you need to lift big weights - bean tins won't do it either

i think i had wrong night for life coaching
that's not too impressive is it
