It Ain't Nece-celery So - 10 / 10 thread - with new ADDED FOCUS

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I lean over the wheel and squint. I find it hard to see in the wing mirrors and in the dark, lights in the distance are all a blur and I can't see what they are or where the road goes and when I get out of the car I have a headache and my eyes hurt.

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 21:56

Hope it's fun.

I do the leaning and squinting in the dark.
No harm in having an eye test.
Watch out for the puffs of cold air though.

Boco · 09/02/2009 21:57

I think you might need to get your eyes tested Guad.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 21:58

Do you? I just can't see where the road ahead is going sometimes. When I am a passenger I often wince as I think dh has driven into a wall but really he has followed the road to the right and I would have driven into the wall.

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 22:00

I struggle in the dark, yes. Just means I have to concentrate and slow down when somebody has blinded me.

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2009 22:00

Who will be driving on your valentine date? Boco's in the dress, so Guad's going to have to drive. And give Boco a corsage, and meet her parents and stuff. It's going to be like a valentine prom.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:02

We will be getting a taxicab.

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2009 22:03

I'm all pleased about your valentine date. I also think you are weird. But in a pleasing way. And now Guad is going to be like Mr Mgoo or whatever his name was too, and bring flowers in cardboard boxes, and drive at 3 mph and Boco will do patient smiling in the front seat, and wind her window down and look out at the february air and not mind at all that they are two hours late for the dance.

Boco · 09/02/2009 22:03

I think we need to forget the valentine element of this. It's just a party, with a swing band, and everyone dressed up. And i'm not going in a car with guad because she can't see proper.

ahundredtimes · 09/02/2009 22:04

Oh okay.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:06

We can't be late. The dance class is at 8.30 sharp. I need the dance class.

It's not that weird REALLY. We were all meant to be going but now the tickets are hard to come by, they are not as fussed about going as we are, so we are going. I'm sure there will be plenty of men to dance with.

FrannyandZooey · 09/02/2009 22:20

i do that in the dark guad
i have no idea how anyone ever sees anything in the dark or manages to drive at all
it is one reason i don't drive

i thought it might be linked with being very shortsighted (which i am)
but you are not, are you?

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 22:22

Franny you're up late again.

BBBee · 09/02/2009 22:23

carrot why don;t you go in drag? ou could have a cigar and a monacle (eye sight prob taken are of - see)

oh and you will be chic and people will do looking in [awe] and you will do head tossing and not caring.

BBBee · 09/02/2009 22:25

god it is a good job it is sold out otherwise i would be fucking coming myself - 5 hour squint drive or not

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 22:26

Hello Bee

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:27

I don't want to go in drag, I wanta dress.

Someone knit me one, please.

#Franny - I don't think I am shortsighted. I have never been tested. I assume I ould have other problems?

Boco · 09/02/2009 22:27

aw, I want Bee to come in drag with a monacle. There MUST be more tickets.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:28

like not being able to see

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 22:29

Perhaps Guad needs the monocle. Or two of them. A bionicle, that's it.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:31

There aren't. I bust my arse ringing and pestering to get these two.

We could sneak her in the large bag you no doubt have to go with the rest of your outfit.

Guadalupe · 09/02/2009 22:32

Do you think I might need glasses? I am okay in my daily life I think.

TooTicky · 09/02/2009 22:33

Do you struggle in daylight?

BBBee · 09/02/2009 22:33

hullo toot

we have loads of bionicles

um, yes generally you can't see if you can't see otherwise you can see you see.

guad - you have to go in drag as it fits in so well with my mental picture of you cobbled together from skim reading your posts on here for years and seeing you once in a cafe.

i haven't done a list but there was lots of FOCUS and BLUEBERRIES.

You know if you are doing this 10/10 thing you don;t half fucking eat a lot.
