For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh Avi but I have heard that that can happen before the actual improvement.

I have just had pizza with loads of veg, but my tongue is on fire....some foods really aggrevate it.

Another pear.....
And apple juice is just so soothing....
Non acidic fruits I suppose.

Nothing exciting or different....

FK, Quorn scotch eggs are small, and herby, with chopped free range egg in the middle. They're delicious.

Went for a long walk with ds, so ....................... 10/10 yay

My hair looks shite from walking in the rain though. I've got a frizz head from hell. But I really can't be fagged to wash, dry and straighten it.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/02/2009 18:21

Atilla - have you tried natural yoghurt on your tongue? Oh, or are you a vegan? I can't remember who does what on here.

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:21

My hips are really loose-feeling, in a post-spd kind of way, and they fluctuate but are really bad atm.
Anyway, I just wondered if maybe I wasn't eating absolutely masses, if maybe that could be making it worse? It feels as if my legs might actually come off. Well, dislocate. I have to move them really carefully.

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:27

it is a health question, and gives Franny an opportunity to say yes it would all be fine if you ATE MORE VEG
[defensive]

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:28

this is actually really bad, I can barely walk

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:31

you can ask what you want toot, please don't think you can't
are you meaning because you might be losing muscle or something, from getting thin? i wasn't quite sure what you were thinking of
i think you SHOULD eat more, yes, but i am not sure if it will help your hips
from reading on MN it sounds like chiropractor or osteopath can help spd
not cheap though are they?

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:31

toot that's awful
i know you said you saw someone and they said "oh you shouldn't have had so many children"
well they are shit, see someone sensible
would you mention it to gp?

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:33

hmm, i really don't know
anyway, it just seemed like a bit of a silly question afgter I'd asked it

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:34

well, when I go back, which I have to, i might mention it
think this is the worst it has been

is it possible that it is affected by menstrual cycle do you think?

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:35

or is that silly?

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:37

I mean, could they dislocate just like that?

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:41

oh no it IS affected by menstual cycle, definitely
it's all hormonal isn't it? and many women find it won't go till after they stop bfing
i am sorry you are still suffering
i would bet it may go when dd2 weans
have you contacted pelvic partnership?

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:42

they aren't dislocated - it's bad spd, isn't it
you've had it before
i know it's chronic but don't panic

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:42

no, I've not heard of them...

hmm, cold turkey on mummy milk methinks [hard]

TooTicky · 05/02/2009 18:43

yes, spd, but where my legs are fixed on, it just doesn'g feel very secure

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:44

oh i may be wrong about weaning
see here
but right about menstrual cycle

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:45

well that's what spd can feel like toot
like your legs are going to wobble off

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:45

oh on that link look at postpartum section

PollyannaNutjob · 05/02/2009 18:47

oh
but don't look at the scary surgery bit!
that is bonkers toot ignore that bit
