For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

it is stupid obvious that the person that cooks decides about the kitchen.

Goober · 29/01/2009 19:36

SuperBunny · 29/01/2009 19:38

mollyroger · 29/01/2009 19:48

do me! Do me!

Bloody bloody feckin computer virus bollocks....thank gods dh is techy - if I were on my own, I'd be rocking and crooning in a corner with tinfoil on my head.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 19:50

um, fun, bright, thin and friendly

actually you can fuck off as well

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 19:50
Grin
FairLadyRantALot · 29/01/2009 19:52

100...nope, I am not in Switzerland...I am frm germany, but we live in the UK...I do however have a cart for the Kids, a kinda Bollerwagen...oh can't think of what tehya re called now...brain is all fried up, I think!
OH, and by core values...do you mean what a persons core beliefs are/ a person spirituality/ anything really important to the person....well, that sort of thing is meant if OT's are talking about core values

anyways, I have seriously painful hips right now....I hate having flulike things...they give you all those crappy symptoms that come and go....sigh...

mollyroger · 29/01/2009 19:54

there's very very lovely of you, Guad, but those are not core values, are they? That's a 9rather too flattering description)

Franny, dh and I have both had life-coaching (free!) and have both done wheels of life.
The core value thing is really interesting. Dh and i have been talking about it. his is mostly defintiely FAIRNESS.

mollyroger · 29/01/2009 19:55

FAir, at achey hips. Do you have any of those microwave heat bags?

none of mine have been values really, I am not good at this game.

pollycazalet · 29/01/2009 19:56

I have realised I eat spinach everyday. That has to be good, yes?

Guad my sister was told she danced like a sack of potatoes by her ballet teacher. She has never got over it, I don't think. Those ballet madames are sans merci.

Date is an 'out' date. We will never get it together to get to the cinema. Looks as though it's the pub and a conversation then.

Perhaps we can play the core values game?

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 19:56

fairlady - cider vinegar!

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 19:58

That is what I shall tell my mother when I next see her, Polly, that she was sans merci.

SuperBunny · 29/01/2009 19:58

I wonder why we both have hurty hips, fairlady. My mum lives in Germany and just told me her German is much better now. I then tried to chat to her in German but she kept saying, "what? Mein Deutsch is crap"

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/01/2009 19:59

What does a life coach do exactly? It's one of those things I've heard of, but I don't actually know what one is.

I feel shattered today and I've made it worse by eating shite.

banana
oj
onions
humous
carrots
cauliflower
avocado
rocket/spinach/watercress
toma toes
cucumber

Guad, I have discussions like the one about your kitchen door all of the time with dh. I am very specific about what I want and where I want it in our extension. He always tuts and says how much more it will cost, so why ask in the first place???!!! IMO if we are starting from scratch then we should do it properly and do what we really want.

mollyroger · 29/01/2009 19:59

before you leap on Guad as mad pusher of cider vinegar, I'd like to endorse it.
Guad, i actually have a book - you know, one million uses for cider vinegar

pollycazalet · 29/01/2009 20:01

I agree with you on the door Guad.

Lots of things in this house I'd have done differently if I'd not had DH's pennypinching to consider.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 20:02

I need a book like that! It is all round good tonic I think.

Lemur - exactly, but dh is worried about money. So am I, but still, it means the door will always be in the corner and not letting light in.

Guadalupe · 29/01/2009 20:05

Thank god people agree with me.

I have been there this evening with torch and practical architechtural type friend and artist, designery friend and THEY agree with me. Dh is sulking, saying do what you want.

Is very odd to look up at the ceiling an see the bedrooms. Place is like a shell. Terrible craks in the back too. Needs underpinning.
