For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Somewhat lacking in exercise, although maybe pacing the floor trying to calm ds down after having a massive wobbler counts? (teeth I think)

Oh enjoy the cocktails. Sigh, I can't remember the last time I went out with pretty/painful shoes amd drank cocktails. Although I'm supping on peach bellini as we speak - however it's ready made from M&S (chavtastic!)

TWF - how are you today? Funerals are shite, but the days leading up to and following are pretty shite too. I hope you're huddled under a blanket eating jam donuts

Boco · 24/01/2009 19:16

That all sounds delicious franny. I LOVE artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes and avocado and would happily eat like that all the time, but it's quite expensive too isn't it. Dp just did the shop and despite the extensive list I gave him, he edited for budget and there's nothing tasty left.

Boco · 24/01/2009 19:20

Here is a taste of some flying conchords, singing about food

Guadalupe · 24/01/2009 19:23

He edited your list? Scandalous.

Franny - I wish I'd eaten your food, then I wouldn't feel so greasy. No more fish an chips for me.

mollyroger · 24/01/2009 19:26

oh fab @ Flying conchords

Franny I was watching Seasick Steve on tv last night and thinking about you (it was you who saw hm at festibl last year wasn't it?)

Ds and I are watching School of Rock.
I may have overdone my Indiana Jones bit. My arms and shoulders are frozen. I'm going to bribe dh with chinese takeway for one of his especially good back rubs.

Boco · 24/01/2009 19:31

I saw seasick steve at Latitude last year, was it me? have his album, it's good.

FrannyandZooey · 24/01/2009 19:35

oh dear @ flying conchords i sound like someone's mother trying to be trendy and getting it wrong don't i?

boco yes i read my list and thought "ponce"
we don't eat like that every day
i am going to try to eat avocadoes more though, they are about 50p each if you buy 3 pack and i think they are Very Good For You aren't they?

OP posts:
mollyroger · 24/01/2009 19:38

gos I love avocados. I just can't get enough.

FrannyandZooey · 24/01/2009 19:38

we did see him
dp loves him
i took ds out after a bit as he kept saying loudly "WHY did seasick steve want to kill his stepfather?" and other awkward questions

mollyroger · 24/01/2009 19:41

We want to get some SS now. The programme was awesome and then he was live at reading and marvellous and I felt so sad that we probably can't afford any festivals this year

Guadalupe · 24/01/2009 19:42

I keep thinking I know Seasick Steve when people speak of him but I think it's because I know a Seaman Nick.

TinyWhiteFeather · 24/01/2009 19:42

To be honest, Lemur, the less I say about how I am, the better at the moment.

I had to take DD out for a walk so H could watch....get this...Police Academy in peace...FFS. He's mashed .
No. No matrimonial rants.

I am trying to spend as much time alone as is justifiable as I am not sure if it is really me that is being unreasonable with some of the stress I have been managing.

I am moderating my exercising, but really enjoying what I am doing. Small challenges so that I can be pleased with myself. I NEED to be out at times like this.
I am going to get out as early as possible tomorrow onto the moors, it is my spiritual regeneration home at the mo. And I love the thought that nobody knows where I am (except you lot of course lol ).
I have my phone so am not completely absent but just dash off, vaguely pointing in an abstract direction. 'errrr, that way...!!'

Lol. like I said 'the less said the better'........Three pages later. Oooooh, I think I have 'Ishoos'

We are not bookign holidays this year either, FMV. Normally I've done it by now. DCs keep saying, look, mummy, kids go free to Butlins.

Guadalupe · 24/01/2009 19:45

I expect we will camp in the van on the marsh.

FrannyandZooey · 24/01/2009 19:45

we have been playing family dinner game scroll down to bottom to see
(it isn't religious btw despite link)
i think it is very good - especially if you are having difficulties communicating or working together as family perhaps
it is lots of cards and you take turns to throw dice and answer question eg "when was a time you remember having a good laugh with someone in the family" "talk about something you would like to do in your life"

it was a bit pricey but we have enjoyed it
you could make your own with piles of cards and a dice
it's not competitive, it just encourages communication and a special family time once a week
