For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No, they are talking about milk. They are obsessed by pus in milk.

FrayedKnot · 23/01/2009 21:17

I don't know what to post first

The poems have made me larf lots and lots.

BTW the suitor is male and older than me - just in case you are changing your mind, BBBee? 'Cos I was going to tell him about you, on MOnday.

I think the suitor is married and knows that I am, which makes it weird...although I'm not saying this was just some kind of straightforward declaration of undying love - the poem was kind of black humoured, but still the message I think was fairly obvious.

I was so busy at work today I couldn;t speak to him but I could do one of the poems for Monday....

Franny we'll help with the no dairy, really we will, we won;t mention ch**se or anything.

Maybe we can think of some things you can eat instead of the things you can;t.

Erm...wow - you could eat a whole tub of hoummous! And...er...muffins made with oil not b*tter! What about pancakes made with soya milk with maple / golden syrup?

TooT...i am glad you have made the appointment.

Guad I stopped feeding DS at 19 months. By then it was only also a bedtime feed, and I just started offering him a drink instead (he drank ordinary milk then, although he doesn;t like it any more), which he seemed quite ahppy with and I don;t remember him ever getting upset or distressed about me not offering it any more. Of course though, DS wasn;t really talking then, I don;t think he even had a word for milk, so he didn;t ever really ask. If he had been at a stage where he asked and I had had to refuse I can see it would have been much more difficult.

Pink hope you ahve a restful time in N

I can;t believe I lived not far from Boco's viallge for ages and never went there...especially with all those teashops

Tatties I was thinking of getting some sopanuts. Do they smell of anything? I kind of imagine them being slightly coconutty which is probably ridiculous of me.

How is the day going, SB? I find my mood so influenced by the weather it;s stupid, and then there;s the waxing gibberish thing as well.

100x I hope you have perfected your Lady-Di-before-she-was-Princess fringe flick for tonight.

Sorry about appalling spelling / typo rate.

TooTicky · 23/01/2009 21:17

What if I look all unhealthy and anaemic?

TooTicky · 23/01/2009 21:18

oh yes, pus in milk. 3 billion pus cells per g;lass or something

FK, I missed the thing about your suitor. Sounded interesting.

TooTicky · 23/01/2009 21:21

I am going to bed now.

ahundredtimes · 23/01/2009 21:22

Well TooT you do need to go to the doctor to address the lump but also the whole you. Don't talk yourself out of it.

If she says anything that involves looking at your arms like a blood test or BP you can always say 'no' if you're not happy with that. Tell yourself that, it's true.

ahundredtimes · 23/01/2009 21:38

FK - I love how everyone has these thoughtful nice points except me who gets a Lady Di flick.

I think you should give suitor a poem back. Something really odd and obscure like a William Blake poem. Just to confuse. It could be fun.

Tatties · 23/01/2009 21:42

You have talked a lot since tea time.

FK soapnuts do have a smell when they are wet and you squeeze them... I can't really describe it. Clothes come out of the wash smelling of nothing though, it's brill

I suppose it is nearly bed time for me too

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 21:43

I say I think of the pus but actually I can knock back hot chocolate with n'er a thought.

Dh has gone to sainsburys to get more rice milk, he will return to find that ds2 has already 'asked' and is now grinning at his door waving a light sabre.

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 21:43

I might have a hot chocolate right now.

FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:19

tatties i read all your stuff and it was so helpful
then i wittered about cheese and forgot
we have those ball things - forgotten what they are called
they are fresh air and magic i think
i will reread all and digest

FK yes hummus and artichoke hearts feature heavily in my plans for tomorrow
i had garlic bread planned

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 22:24

But you can still have garlic bread. I make it with olive oil instead of butter but you could use a dairy free spread.

Mashed potato is better with olive oil IMO, an it works really well on shepherds pie.

FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:25

i am really hungry
i have been hungry all day
FRUIT AND VEG MAKES YOU HUNGRY CHAPS
and yes i did have some n*ts

FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:26

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:26

and i like BUTTER [strop]

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 23/01/2009 22:29

No no no Franny you are having bruschetta.

Ignore the freezer and her siren call.

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 22:30

Well, if it's in the freezer then it can stay there you ninny. Then you can make a nice one with olive oil. Just put on extra garlic and parsley.

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 22:31

You might notice all sorts of interesting little things happening to yourself.

FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:38

[suspicious]
like what

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 23/01/2009 22:39

oh, trying to catch up. Any news about TWF? TooT well done making the appointment, that's what matters, 100 is right, teeny tiny next steps and you'll be fine..

JO Fish pie to die for, tell us about the cream cracker chicken [keen]

Yuck at pus in milk. I wish I didn't know that, I only like milk to drink other than water wine and gin.... [sulk] - why the pus? even in organic milk???

giving up breastfeeding I fed DS until he was 2. We cut down between us - I stopped a couple of the night feeds cos I was just too tired, he always sleeps in our bed so it was easy to comfort him without a feed...so for ages we had a morning and night time feed only, then I started to feel a bit gnawed in the morning - I suspect there wasn't much milk left so DS used to feed on me and then have milk in a bottle and one day I just stopped the BF - a couple of times we went back to it but he just sort of stopped and then at about 2 I was still feeding him at night and we went to stay with his cousins who he loves, he was so tired he just went to sleep, forgot to feed and that was that, just a bottle from then on...

daisy99divine · 23/01/2009 22:42

oh, yes, FK while the poem alternatives are very funny, I would just ignore. I was once chased around the desks at work by a senior colleague and I just found it best to ignore ignore ignore...but not be alone in a room with him again

Guadalupe · 23/01/2009 22:43

Then go to the shop in the morning. They will doubtless have a french stick or something you can make up yourself.

It is very har at first as it's such a big part of our diet but you get used to it and it's fine. Anyway, like you say it might not be for long.

I noticed little things like all the rough skin and spots disappearing on my upper arms, generally being less ill, not getting colds and coughs an so on. It's hard to describe it really. I guess I felt cleaner.
