For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I drink gallons of peppermint tea anyway as it helps with my IBS symptoms

I think I just need one in the morning before I get out of bed (just in case dh is lurking ) and all will be well

Guadalupe · 19/01/2009 10:13

I thought your glowy lady might mention cow juice, Franny!

Guadalupe · 19/01/2009 10:15

Oh, ms grim. Sympathies. Ginger biscuits helped me, and those little ricola herby lemon sweets from the health food shop. Actually, any sweet helped.

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2009 10:17

guad i will do it if i have to
am going to see if a one off first
and god i will be grumpy about it

Oh lord TF - I didn't realise you were pg!! Belated congratulations. (Broody in spite of self)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 19/01/2009 11:35

franny - if it was to do with dairy, wouldn't it have happened before now?

tf - peppermint tea and a digestive in bed before I got up helped. It wouldn't make it go away, but it would help

TooTicky · 19/01/2009 13:32

Oh TF, sympathies. It was a different thing with each pg that worked for me but I wasn't as bad as you.
Had to eat tomatoes compulsively with dd2 or I just felt too awful for words.

I have just chatted to Feather on the phone - she is sooooooooooooo lovely

TooTicky · 19/01/2009 13:34

Dd2 has zonked out. Well, she did get up at 3 this morning

I don't know how long I'm going to last. Not that I have a choice actually.
I have been awake since half past one. And have a minimum 7 hours to go.

TooTicky · 19/01/2009 13:48

Crikey my head is feeling peculiar.

TooTicky · 19/01/2009 13:59
