For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Aw Molly, what a night!
I like that you are defying Gloomy Monday though.
Reminds me of my grandmother - she always used to travel on Friday 13th.
Apart from anything else, the trains were never full
And she never wore shoes...

Avi, there are a few airfields round this way (and TooT's way). It gets reather noisy here!

Guad, dd1 gets terribly cross that she hasn't been christened. However, she is also keen on the idea of church and Sunday school, so cannot threaten that!

Rain

And I have stupidly kindly offered to accompany dd1's class ot the swimming pool and supervise them changing. It will be hot. And stuffy.

Happy Monday all.

God, have been reading thread forever, every time I get to the end I refresh and there's a zillion more posts

TigerFeet · 19/01/2009 09:51

Have skimmed thread

Molly - hurrah

I am definitely not done having children yet but dh would like to stop after this one (fingers crossed that all is well, early days and all that) and I am not so sure... we will be snug enough with four in this house so maybe he's right.

I am neither tall nor short at a smidge under 5'6 but am probably bigger than most of you I'm over a stone lighter than I was this time last year but am unlikely to stay that way now [big ]

Well I feel like shit - I was sick by the side of the road and then sick in my lap in the car so I came hope after dropping dd off at school. Any suggestions? I have called in sick this morning but would rather not have to do that every mornign for the next few weeks...

Guad I loved your christening story .

Hope you're OK after your nocturnal antics Toot

BOok sound very interesting

Add me as a friend on FB if you haven't already got me - I am CBC and am friends with numerous veggers

mangolassi · 19/01/2009 09:55

ok
guad - christening sounds lovely, except for the hell part, i want to call you Lupe, would that be acceptable?

bunny/franny - thank god for that, I thought i'd either gain smoothies or lose soup, was quite concerned

juice
satsuma
4 little finger bananas (=1 portion)
gargantuan mutant apple

dragonfruit are boring, bunny
mou had an amazing-sounding day (I even read the birdy bit)

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2009 10:04

tiger - peppermint oil to sniff, put it on a hanky or something and just have a good whiff when you feel dicey
and eating crystallised ginger really does work!

TigerFeet · 19/01/2009 10:05

I've made a huge pan of soup but I don't blitz it, I just mash it up a bit so it's a kind of chunky broth. Who's monitor, is it SB? Where is my chunky soup on the scale then?

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2009 10:05

avi she said trear the inner cause
which was, erm, probably me eating dairy
don't like the juice of the cow much these alternative types do they?

god sorry it's an emoticon explosion
stand well back they might spill on you

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2009 10:07

in soup monitor's absence i say here is the hierarchy

juice
liquidised soup and smoothies
mashed soup
chunky soup
lightly steamed veg
raw veg
veg pulled from your own organic allotment with mud still on it

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2009 10:08

she actually said TREAT the inner cause
trearing sounds painful

TigerFeet · 19/01/2009 10:11

I did think of ginger but bleughhhhh. I drank ginger ale when pg with dd and tbh the thought of it makes me feel quite ill now. I may just bite the bullet and give it a try.

I will stop this talk of MS now as I've just remembered that Tatties is an emetophobe (sorry Tatts if you're here)

I've told dh that he's to make me a cup of peppermint tea every morning - he is being very attentive and fussing lots bless him.

My soup looks quite vile this week - I overcooked it and it has broccoli in it so it's gone and odd greeny grey colour and smells of school dinners

littlerach · 19/01/2009 10:11

TF, yes try peppermint or ginger.

Neither worked for me it just dissapeared at 11 weeks. Though I was just nauseous, rather then full blown vomit.

Guadalupe · 19/01/2009 10:12

Yes, yes, call me lupe, guad, carrot or plum, I don't mind.

The bees weren't on the cake, they were separate little iced marvels. Do you think bees went on the ark? I suppose they could fly alongside though they might need a rest.

I am 5 8 so near the top end of the vegger line but I reckon I was 5 10 in my silly shoes yesterday. I can't have any more babies but I'm not really broody. Ds2 is 2 on wednesday, that seems a bit odd. He is still quite babylike though.
