For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lully! xxx(please recognise me....FB buddy, cake decorator, wearer of your green coat )

Toot, I feel jealous that you have spoken to TWF but not me (properly)

I have only mananged bananas and blueberries today. Stir fry for dinner though so will pack 'em in then.

I am almost scared of picking up ds2 from school today; he was in such a foul mood this morning, he will almost certainly have had a 'bad' day at school. (involving physical interludes with sundry 'enemies'. Sigh)

Lullabyloo · 19/01/2009 14:32

Oh Molly there are many many many........
He has Aspergers....(maybe) & struggles with so many aspects of regimented stuff

Today he was having a complete rip roaring breakdown when I arrived to collect him because he hadn't eaten his lunch up in time & soi hadn't been allowed to go out to play with the others.

He's 4.5
I wanted to home ed but he is very very keen on going to school.
He's extremely bright & very advanced in some areas ,highly sociable & eager to learn. He is very enthusiastic & says he loves it there, but is just a natural non conformist & struggles with rules & regulations.
He is very adult drawn, but doesn't have much respect for elders. He feels an equal to all & everyone & questions everything.

Lullabyloo · 19/01/2009 14:46

Franny

Lullabyloo · 19/01/2009 14:47

oh lully, tis a lonely road when your dc has any kind of 'problem'....sympathy and empathy x

Sorry Franzo but ROFL at ''whose poo is that...''

I'd move mountains to get to a meet-up! But I would want to Hug People

TinyWhiteFeather · 19/01/2009 14:55

Lully, hi.....you are describing my DS. Very very wearing. you have my hearfelt sympathies. We are in various therapies.

But he has so many issues and has just started stealing. You want so much to enjoy them, but there is so much heartache with some children. I can only listen, but on here or FB, you can 'offload' any time you like, sometimes it is just good to share because people don't believe it is so hard, or blame (my) parenting.
I hope you get some good 'you' time when he is at school and take good care of yourself...

at Toot and Molly.....

I will do a linked post to my docs appointment later, as I am starting to feel narcisistic on this thread and need a serious rant....would fill thread up lol...

must fetch dc's...must fetch dc's......

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I know it's early,I've already had a home visit tho
He has gone from a class of 12 & 4 teachers, top a class of 30 & it must be v hard for his teacher.
Ds is a larger than life, hey look & listen to me,look out world here I come kind of child.
He demands attention, talks non stop & is brimming with ideas & enthusiasm.
They have suggested more sleep....he sleeps 7.30 -7.00
& better diet....he has 95% organic ,home cooked diet with hardly any crap.

To me he is what he is,but they seem hugely shocked

littlerach · 19/01/2009 14:59

Hey Lully, sorry ot hear baout ds.

Have the school been at all helpful?

My friend's ds was dx with A and she has found that the school can be helpful with ideas and things, but it is v hard to put them into practice at times, generally due ot lack of time/money/persons.

I would love a meet up .

WE should visit SB!! Or Mango or Stuffit.

feather, link the thread when you start it please.

Lullabyloo · 19/01/2009 14:59
