For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Dh has gone to his mums, and I can't find DS. will go and try and find him after DD has gone to party. It didn't seem fair for her to miss..it, it is her friend.
He lost his phone and isn't with any usual friends.
Oh he has just walked in.....oh joy. Sees y'all later

Watch out for fireworks in the North!!! am about to 'do' cross and shouty....

TinyWhiteFeather · 17/01/2009 15:50

It is not me that got cross and shouty...sigh.
Is it normal for A 10 year old to tell his mum that she 'doesn't bloody care' or 'give a damn' and to 'shut it'?

And slam doors and try to push the shoe rack over, and snarl and take the mickey out of anything I try to say or do.

pinkspottywellies · 17/01/2009 16:00

Oh mou ((hugs)) He's a difficult little chap isn't he Wish I could help or offer some advice but all I have is hugs. Oh and roses

TinyWhiteFeather · 17/01/2009 16:11

Excuse me pink....

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When H gets back I will be going for a brisk walk.
Have also just been mother-in-lawed about my feeble parenting(darling).

Anyway, thank-you pink, it so helps to share it.
Will try to resist going to a shop and buying myself something pink and pretty to cheer myself up, re my new years resolution.

Hugs are fabulous bit I feel too sick for chocolate thank-you, weak

And my bloody toe is sore now..bah, bah, bah.

TinyWhiteFeather · 17/01/2009 16:17

Oh the beatles 'something' has come on, oh wow.
Music really does have charms to soothe doesn't it?

littlerach · 17/01/2009 16:20

Mou.

FairLadyRantALot · 17/01/2009 16:26

lol ILIke, hm....not sure if I am lovely, lol....but I try

dooney...yeah 10/10 is one of the very few threads on mn that I would dare offer hugs, lol....

Oggs, I think you are possibly more worthy than most of us

Tiny you pretty much summed us up there...but psst, don't tell anyone, I am hardly doing any exercise nowadays
yikes at losing a toenail just like that! Shudder!

Avi...send you dh round to mine...oh and does he iron, too? And how about cleaning?

Toot, you aren't used to that much sleep, I think...

lol BBBee, I am a first class procrastinator The motivating away from that is the difficult part, isn't it!

littlerach...hehe....I only nicjked the recipe from my Slimming World Cookbook ....I wish I could say it was my own creation But it is a lovely dish isn't it! My only problem is, that it gives me terrible wind, lol!

Franny, morningpaper has written a book? Wow...! So, are you in it?
Oh and on the topic of kinesiology, I am really not sure, and hate to just dismiss alternative medicine, but from what I have read about it (not much btw), I think it might be bollox.
As for going for steroid creams, I think as long as you use them responsibly than they are fine, and they do work a treat for eczema.

Guad...oh that posh christening eh...hope you find the shoes, etc...!

pink, that sounds like a good plan, the afternoon sleep for you Enjoy!

Well, I have had about 6 portions of f&v so far, Banana, Tomatoes, Mushrooms and an appl;
Lazy day today, long lay in, and Kids were great and played and watched TV quietly.
I am a bit , because, erm ,I ordered some, erm, you know, erm, toys for myself and was hoping they would have arrived by now, but nope
Anyway, I so should not be on here, I should be doing some housework, lol...but can't be arsed.
I am now looking forward to sitting down later with a bottle of red and watching crappy TV ( your country needs you...forinstance, lol...alhtouhg it is kinda really awful...oh the shame)

FairLadyRantALot · 17/01/2009 16:29

Tiny, so sorry to hear about your probs with your son. MY son can get quite shouty and things with me...and they do say things like, you don't care/you don't love me and stupid things like that!
Try not to take it to heart, but I know easier said than done, isn't it! [more hugs for you] (you were in the huggy camp, right?)

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 16:51

I am glad you had more sleep last night TooT. I never understand why it leaves me feeling more tired though. I woke up at 8 this morning then slept for another hour during which I had one of those wierd dreams where I was desperately trying to get up but couldn't move or see anything. It was very stressful but perhaps reminding me that I should have got up at 8.

Good lUck with the steroid cream - it can work wonders but it is shit to have to use it.

Sorry about toenail. Feather. I am very sqeamish about toenails and am feeling a bit queasy but wanted to not be silly and girly and tell you that I hope it grows back very very soon. Ick

I need to do crafty stuff with DS. I'm a bit crap at that.

A bokashi computer would be vyer impressive.

I am not the shortest 10/10er but am probably not far off.

Cheesecake sounds delicious. I want to make it.

pinkspottywellies · 17/01/2009 17:06

Gosh are you short SB? I imagine you to fairly tall from your FB photo. I also always picture you in bed on your laptop when you post

I didn't sleep. And dh has just phoned. He was going to have tea at his mums. He just phoned and said we're leaving soon, do you want to do tea at home. Er, no not really! Grr. Might try and have a couple of hours tohis evening then get up to watch CSI at 9.

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 17:16

LOL, pink. I would love to spend all my time in bed on my laptop. I haven't done that in ages.

My laptop lives in the kitchen but my apartment is open plan so from there, I can cook and supervise small children and MN. At naptime and at night, I slouch in a chair (one of those Ikea Poang ones that everyone seems to have), put my feet on the coffee table and MN with my laptop on my knee.

I am 5'3" but I usually lie and say 5'4

Feather, Golden Slumbers is what does it for me. A long time ago I used to have horrible depression and panic attacks, and I would often sit in my closet, and the only thing that would keep me going is Golden Slumbers in my head. It was like Paul McCartney was somehow personally promising me someday it would all get better. I know what you mean. Hopefully things get better for you. And ewww about the toe nail. ((((hugs)))) [that was special for you. I don't "do" hugs usually.]

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 17:38

TooT, you probably did this but:

Click on Tools in the bar at the top

Go to Options

then Security

And you can unclick the box 'remember passwords for sites'

TooTicky · 17/01/2009 17:48

Bless you SB. Will do later.

Oh Feather, what a day!

Ds2 hsa just presented me with a bowl of banana chunks, courgette slices and a slightly torn clementine WITH SKIN in a bowl of water. Bless.

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 17:49

Aw, he's lovely

TooTicky · 17/01/2009 18:11

I think I walked about 8 miles today
Can I have a sticker please? My legs aren't even tired [smug]

FrannyandZooey · 17/01/2009 18:11

hello, well there has obviously been some bother, i don't know what, so will assume am not meant to know
hope all is well anyway

have steroid cream x 2 (sorry chaps)
ok should probably explain kinesiology outburst earlier - a kinesiologist told me yesterday his eczema would be caused by something in my milk
i do take exception to that being the standard explanation for baby ailments (my mother usually tries it)

so

kinesiologists can sod off afaiac

littlerach · 17/01/2009 18:12

It is so windy here.

The lid ot the sandpit was at the other end og the garden, and i could barely open the door ot get it.

Am bit worried about the trampoline now....

Pear
Leek
raisins
tomatoes

Rubbish again.

FrannyandZooey · 17/01/2009 18:12

apparently i have to go and watch life on earth

there is a fabulous rainbow pipecleaner loofah and web hanging off my ceiling
am uber mama once again

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 18:15

Oh, I see Franny. DS2s excema is your substandard milk. Of course, what else could it be?

Loofah sounds v good.

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 17/01/2009 18:16

Franny... at that stupid Kinesiologist....grrr....tosser!
You go Ueber Mama...!

pinkspottywellies · 17/01/2009 18:17

Franny, I assume he meant something you're eating getting through in your milk that he's allergic to, rather than that there's something wrong with bm. Guad cut out all sort when she was bf ds2 didn't she? I think my mum has/likes/understands kinesiology. I'll ask her.

I keep meaning to send you something TooT. Hopefully now I've written it down I'll remember. And Fran I'll email you my address tonight re the raspberry leaf. Thank you

SuperBunny · 17/01/2009 18:22

I often wonder about breastmilk and how things are passed on to babies. I cut out various things when I was BF because of DS's excema and nothing made a difference. Lots of people seem to cut out things when they have a colicky or unwell baby but I never hear of it helping.

Well done Toot.
