For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I see you spotted my slight exaggeration avi

Franny, I think you once posted soemthing about having pictures to remind DS about things like getting dressed, or did I dream that?

SuperBunny · 14/01/2009 00:03

I wish I could help, FK but I am struggling with so much of DS's behaviour that I am not one to advise.

Banana
Blueberries (2)
raisins
quinoa salad
crap

dooneygirl · 14/01/2009 02:51

I think your DS is the long lost brother to DD. I do not understand how in the process of getting dressed, you forget what you are doing. Or why you have to sing to your clothes before you can put them on. Or if it is cold in the house and you are without clothes, why you would take so long to put clothes on.

Applesauce
Blueberries
Pineapple
Banana
Pineapple
Grapes
Juice
Veggie shepherds pie with corn, mushrooms, green peppers, carrots and a mashed sweet potato topping. That had to be about 3 or so, I'd say.
Lemon meringue pie Ok, not really.

SuperBunny · 14/01/2009 05:08

TWF - what happened?

TooTicky · 14/01/2009 05:59

FK, I think boys need to be dressed until they are 7 or something. Or is that just mine? Dd2 is fiercely independent at 3.

Franny, next time you go to the National Gallery, take this
They sell it there but get it before you go and read it then go dog spotting. Is great fun. We did this on the day of the meet up [misty nostalgia>

Where are the early morning people? Stuffit? Mango? SB? Feather?
I dunno, you make an effort, get up at 5, then there's nobody here

Sorry I just missed you SB, I was washing my hair then. And last night I went to bed earlyish.

TooTicky · 14/01/2009 07:13

Dooney, I love the idea of singing to your clothes before you put them on.

My boys would happily live naked I think.

mangolassi · 14/01/2009 07:42

Ooh Toot, I'm here.
Avoiding posting as no sodding f+v.
Coconut juice
apple
about 1/3 portion of morning glory.

Tis sad.

Have you already left for eye things and mother-stress?

mangolassi · 14/01/2009 07:51

Oops, there was supposed to be a good luck in there, too.

The only time dd gets dressed - actually I mean, consents to be dressed by a parent - at a speed past glacial is when we threaten to leave her behind she has a choice between getting dressed and going out somewhere, or not getting dressed and staying at home. She finds us and our house incredibly boring, I think. Dp and I have some conflict cos if we're in the house, I don't really care whether she's dressed or not. He seems to think she should wear clothes.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/01/2009 08:37

pmsl at 'a portion of morning glory' , deary me, I've got tears running down my face here.

Yes, lets move to Greenwich. It's like an oasis of lovliness in London. Shame about the Cutty Sark though. DH and I discovered the GBK restaurants in Greenwich, but as most of you are veggers I probably shouldn't have mentioned it . I quite like Blackheath as well.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/01/2009 08:37

Oh, and I too am a speccy twat!

FrannyandZooey · 14/01/2009 08:46

oh god work work work and dp is not here and i am not in greenwich any longer and ds2 is wanting picking up heeeeeeeelp

No no, morning glory the green leafy spinch-esque vegetable, not morning glory the also green and leafy strain of cannabis. I never take drugs much.

This is probably not the post to admit that yesterday I initially read kilim as chillum, is it?

mangolassi · 14/01/2009 09:08
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/01/2009 09:50

I obviously have a potty mind, as I wasn't thinking of the cannabis type morning glory .

Post holiday blues are shite.

mangolassi · 14/01/2009 09:54

Potty? Portion of poo? Now I'm confused.

Have eaten an orange.

Have to go, but will leave you with dd's lovely inspirational message to me this morning as I was cleaning my teeth:

"Mummy bottom BIG"

She was clearly impressed.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/01/2009 10:08

The morning glory I was thinking of was a man's erection in the morning. Please tell me I'm not the only one who knows this expression?!

Ah, don't you just kids

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/01/2009 13:19

Omg, please don't let my last post be a thread killer. Not with the word erection in it

FrannyandZooey · 14/01/2009 13:35

lol you can't kill this thread

i certainly know that expression moveit
