For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh wise veggers, I need help!

Babysitter - you know about this one but would appreciate a quick 'stay' or 'go' to help me decide.

And why is my lovely DS so shockingly rude?

SuperBunny · 10/01/2009 04:40

Mornin stuffit - hope you are ok on such little sleep

dooneygirl · 10/01/2009 04:49

And I don't really like berries that much, and envy you your mangoes.

You probably do, there are several places on here I say where I am. I'm not really good on keeping secrets.

SB, I have a perfect answer for your DS thread. Get an older sibling. DD is becoming the same way, but DS doesn't put up with it, and she seems to respond to him better than I. As for the babysitter thing, I don't even have one. But since you have so many options, I'd get rid of her. I'd be on the fence but the opening presents thing was strange.

DH gave me a foot rub, so I'm in a better frame of mind right now.

stuffitllama · 10/01/2009 05:01

hi girls
Superbunny I'm not sure about the rude thing. I have had it too, and they just don't get what they want unless they are polite. But the fact that he is just doing it with you and the babysitter means surely that he is a really a nice little boy and is simply starting to push the boundaries, so I would say definitely not ignore.. he is checking where his boundaries are and you need to continue to let him know they are there.
I am not a big one for advice though because I'm sure your instincts tell you the same thing and you will know him so well. I guess you have spoken to his Dad about it too?
Dooney will swap you mangoes for a foot rub right now! The tenners are the only ones who know where I am and I like to keep it that way

stuffitllama · 10/01/2009 05:02

lol at wise veggers
sorry you weren't talking to me then ahem

dooneygirl · 10/01/2009 05:07

I tend to think of the other thread that I'm a regular on as a little quiet corner that nobody really visits, so I open up much more there about specifics about me. I realize that is wrong, but. . . oh well. I guess having an ocean and almost an entire continent between me and the vast majority of the people on here gives me a false sense of security.

I gave DH a foot rub, too. But he did a much better job than I did.

stuffitllama · 10/01/2009 05:15

not wrong ..maybe I am a funny one but my dh is the only one here doing his job so I wouldn't want people finding out about his children and wife this way

anyhoo I must admit to quite a lot of transition difficulty with vegging.. it was low priority for a long time but now I'm finding it hard to readjust with the different foods and the way they are used

dooneygirl · 10/01/2009 05:20

I was just a plain hypocrite. I (think I) do pretty well giving DC's fruits and veggies all day long, but realized that I didn't have any until dinner. I knew I wouldn't stick to it, unless I had someone I had to account to, so I decided to join here for the extra motivation.

I didn't really like fruit, but have so far learned that I really, really like red grapes and I like kiwi. I love mangoes, but not being in season, they are a fortune over here, which is unfortunate, because I have a ton of recipes to use them in.

SuperBunny · 10/01/2009 05:27

No, you are wise, stuffit! Thanks for your help. Have mentioned to DS's dad so will see what he says. Night x

stuffitllama · 10/01/2009 05:39

Dooney that's how I started! was good with the children but never cooked a meal for me.. I started off eating bags of organic carrots just to keep the numbers up. Now we eat together a lot more too..

stuffitllama · 10/01/2009 05:40

night bunny

littlerach · 10/01/2009 09:24

Morning.
Where are you all?

It is white here, though not really frosty overnight. It is quite surreal as the sky has a pink tinge to it.

BBBee · 10/01/2009 10:20

FZ I hope your mum is better and guad (see 'guad' not 'carrot') that family thing sound really horrid - i hope you can get away from it a bit mentally. (as in in your head not by doing mental stuff).

TigerFeet · 10/01/2009 10:25

chocolate orange
bagel with raisins

Mou I hope your aunt is peaceful.

Guad am incandescent for you - how crappy.

Poor ds2 Franny - hope it clears up. Hurrah for HV though - the one I had with dd was lovely but I've heard some sorry tales...

Off to read your thread SB

Well

Earlier in this thread (or was it the last one?) I thought I had PMT in a big way. As it turns out, I don't have PMT. And am unlikely to have it for some time.

Erm

TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations! Welcome to the club! (There'll have been someone pg on this thread forever now! I took over from Franster and now you've got the baton!)

TigerFeet · 10/01/2009 11:21

THanks everyone

It's very early days, 4+2 today, I found out at 3+6 am feeling a bit queasy but am OK so far. First thing Weds mornign I didn't suspect a thing but I behaved very strangely all morning, eating odd things and doing a weekly shop and forgetting to buy wine and then when I had a shower my boobs nearly exploded and I had those little lumps on my nipples - now I can be a bit dim at times but not that dim so did a test (expecting it to be -ve) and lo and behold....

I thought about keeping it quiet for a while but am a blabbermouth I'll be on here and on wider MN asking stuff and I can't be arsed to namechange.

DD will be 5 when this one is born (all being well, crosses fingers) and that's a loooong time to remember what to do! I suppose I ought to get myself in the system and get booking in appts sorted etc etc

FrannyandZooey · 10/01/2009 11:46

oh tiger the 5 year age gap is just BRILLIANT
and you will know what to do

FairLadyRantALot · 10/01/2009 12:08

lol SB, I went to bed than...it was past 11pm for me

awww dooney...you do sound exhausted but glad the footrub made you feel better
OH and interesting about you having lots of mangoe recipes....as, sometimes they are reasonable cheap here...but I am not that keen on them as such...maybe if I would do something different with them, they might appeal more , ykwim, saying that I tend to have a problem to "catching" the mango at teh right time, i.e. it is not ripe enough or it has gone off...any help with recognizing a good ripe mangoe would be muchly appreciated ...

littlerach, that sounds lovely!

oh tigerfeet...congratulations are in order then Did you plan on another or is this a surprise? Sorry, being nosey, it's not really any of my business.
ll at you being a blubbermouth , I could never keep it a secret, lol...

btw...don't anyone dare to come near me with that "pg baton" do you hear....other than that I really don't want anymore (3 is plenty and it is difficult enough to do Uni with 3 and a dh, who could be counted as 4 anyway, lol), I think dh and I would possibly fall out if I was to get pg, because he had the snip in the summer, lol!

Well...as for me, had an apple and a banana so far...but only got my lazy butt out of bed about an hour ago ...

FrannyandZooey · 10/01/2009 12:25

pink what age gap will you have? forgotten how old dd is now
