For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Night, pink

dooneygirl · 05/01/2009 03:09

It is snowing, again. AAAAAGGGGHHHHH. We only see snow once or twice a year, usually, and I've been trapped in my home 2 out of the last 4 weeks.

Sweet potato
peaches

There's a reason I'm not officially starting until tomorrow. Although I had a really iffy stomach, so didn't eat much of anything until dinner today.

Off to read all I missed now.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 07:04

You were all very talkative last night.

My warmest jumper has shrunk. Blah. I am wearing a cardigan that is still damp around the shoulders.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 07:08

Ahundred, I didn't know you had a thing about birds....which is a bit of a bum because I love them....will put a bird alert on any posts in the future!

And avi likes and counts nuts....I knew there was going to be something I liked about you .

And I love early mornings and getting back to normal. Contented sigh.

Hope you are feeling better dooneygirl.

We have snow and now I don't want it because they close our school at the sign of the first flake...narrows eyes...wimps.

Am off to stalk Toot,!

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 07:08

There you are!!!!!

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 07:09

Don't you run away from me now!

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 07:09

Dooneygirl, may I ask where you are?

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 07:11

oh i'm here. Fb?

Dd1 and ds2 have nits and dd1 is back at school today.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 07:13

ok am off there now.

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 07:13

We appear to have some snow.

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 07:21

hi Toot for snow
we appear to have some smog but it's so smoggy one can barely tell
osba I admire your resilience and your chutzpah
hello all what a lot of talk
excellent start to the day got up dh and dc3 for school at 7 only to realise 20 mins later that it starts tomorrow
i interrupted dh's cold shave to tell him this and ran away quite quickly
I'm afraid I had chocolate for breakfast but I have big plans for later

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 07:22

Toot nits snap jinx whatever

are you a comber or do you go down the sheep dip route
I'm a comber and I can't imagine you doing sheep dip

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 07:26

not sure about communes, have never had a jingly skirt
might have to book into a nice b and b nearby

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 07:30

bet you are popular stuffit

I am a comber. NittyGritty is good.

Right, off to boil water....and comb grumpy angsty 12yo....wish me luck

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 07:37

Maybe our girls should fb .. mine is on fb..
What's nittygritty? is it elbow grease?
They are used to me being disorganised once I picked up ds1 a whole afternoon late for easter holiday they all went home at 12 and I turned up at 3

TooTicky · 05/01/2009 08:10

Yes, maybe they should. Dd1 is desperate to be on fb. She'd love that.

Well, I am a stupid idiot and an evil witch and a bitch. Deep joy.

NittyGritty is a comb that also combs out the eggs.

TinyWhiteFeather · 05/01/2009 08:23

Oh yes, been there Toot, DS regularly tells me to 'shut my mouth' at the moment.
He-he, all our children FBing each other, moaning about what dreadful mothers we are! Lol.
We have a nitty gritty, it does find all the unbrushed lugs though! evil cackle.

littlerach · 05/01/2009 08:32

Snow here too!!!
And no school til tomorrow.

TooT, dd2 had nits at the end of last term. Think I have combed them all out now. So far dd1 hasn't had them this year (school year). I nit comb mine almost every time I wash it as I am paranoid . My hair is long and thick so it is hellish.
I had a bad dream last week that i nit combed dd2 and found thousands on her.

TooT? you okay?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/01/2009 08:46

Snow here too today I'll be taking out ds for a stroll in it later.

Where I grew up there was a commune in the next village and I used to be fascinated by it. Years later I met some of its members at a yoga class and they were lovely and calm types. I asked loads of questions, I think they thought I was slightly mad ... or nosey ... or both!

Franny - according to the bf chart your ds is in the 50th percentile for weight. The height chart I have isn't bf specific. If you would like me to scan/post a copy to you let me know.

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 08:46

Oh Toot
I am a cow sometimes not from dd but ds -- another snap

but we have so much door slamming from dd at the moment that the handle has fallen off the door on the inside and she can't get out

leads to much eating humble pie afterwards when she wants her tea

god love em all

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 08:51

snow sounds lovely
is it good snow, soft but crunchy
does it sit softly on your coats
am thirsty for info about snow

lr how are you? I too hate having them myself as the combing is so dull on long hair it has happened once before when I had three under six and very long hair there was no time for combing so I had to use the paraquat.. it smells utterly toxic and gives you a headache

maybe it's different now

stuffitllama · 05/01/2009 08:52

am I allowed to say where dooney is? I have been lurking on the overseas thread and just read
would love to post there but I would be found by rl

FrayedKnot · 05/01/2009 09:07

Morning

I am in denial about nits, afaik DS doesn;t have them, but as I never brush his hair and it gets washed about once a fortnight, I am not sure I would have noticed

I do stroke it alot though

It is snowing wet snow, and I have a sore throat, and I have to go out and do multitudinous errnads and shopping of all kinds, with DS, because work and school start back tomorrow.

[Grump]

FrannyandZooey · 05/01/2009 09:11

morning all
snow here too! rapidly vanishing much to ds1's displeasure
i had things to say, i can't remember what

MISS HUNDRED

FrannyandZooey · 05/01/2009 09:12
