For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hello to all
sorry for gloominess pervading people's lives
i think it is an emotional time of year and if all is not well it is harder to cope

we went to see a really mediocre panto this afternoon
but saved the day with visit to ice cream shop
i had apple and cinnamon - counts as a portion, surely
god was nice
very sweet and tart at same time like best apples are
then chunks of cinnamon spiced chewy cookies

om om om

Oh, you're brave FMF. Do you have wine?

Hello LR [blue smile]

I made cupcakes and feel a little less miserable. But still

SuperBunny · 20/12/2008 18:49

x-posted with Franny. Ice cream sounds nice.

Mou, will respond to your email later - thank you so much. Am feeling quite overwhelmed.

BBBee · 20/12/2008 18:54

festive love and seasonal wishes to you all

sorry about the gloominess - i did not open guad's links as i think they may be horrid.

i did xmas food shopping today at sainsburys the market. i didn;t get lots of crap and bought lots of lovely fruit. I also got these brilliant mini pineapples that will poke out the top of the stockings - see - get me with my 10/10 stockings!!!!

have tried to economise lately - but still managed to justify a bottle of bombay sapphire gin because it was like 20p off or something.

tell me about some fruity festive plans please. espeicallu if they have either cheese or preserves in them?

thanks

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:02

Hello Bee

SuperBunny · 20/12/2008 19:05

Ooo, speaking of preserves, my sister gave me a pot of Fortnum and Mason strawberry jam and it is pakced full of tiny strawberries.

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:12

Oh oh it is SB's BIRTHDAY and she didn't tell us!!
She needs a cake and cards and a superbunny of her very own

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:21

Where is everybody?

FrannyandZooety · 20/12/2008 19:24

oh bunny! happybirthday

FrannyandZooety · 20/12/2008 19:26

littlerach · 20/12/2008 19:27

Is it really?

Happy Birthday SB.

That cake is rather scarey!

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:28

Franny, what has happened to your tail end? [concerned]

Oh, and can we please have a new thread? Pleeeeeeeeeeease?

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:29

Wow! Good balloon!

littlerach · 20/12/2008 19:29

Oh, my sister got the most fabulous gift - about 8 hat boxes, ranging in size, each filled with a food treat.

Top on ewas 4 teeny posh chocs, then some shortbread, and so on until the last was a pannettone.

How cool is that?

And it was a suprise, so even more exciting.

Think it was called a tower of treats.

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:30

That sounds like fun LR.

BBBee · 20/12/2008 19:32

FMV - that is not good enough - i know you are riddled with small boys but i really would appreciate some more detail on the cheeses - type, shop, preference, method of eating etc. you can do this when they have gone but i need detail.

toot - what xmas fayre do you favour? do you miss cheese? do you have marron glace?

SB - I had that jam once - it is SO DIVINE - i think i was almost scared to eat it it was so lovley. I think french bread and unslkted butter worked best - or a scone. you lucky lucky fruity!

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:35

Bee, I am going to make vegan stollen and mince pies with nice wholemeal pastry. Yum.
The closest I ever come to missing cheese is thinking wistfully about Lancashire or Wensleydale with Christmas cake. But I wouldn't actually enjoy cheese now.
Oh, chocolate is important too.

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:39

Bee, come back and talk to me.

SuperBunny · 20/12/2008 19:39

Aw, thank you, thank you, thank you

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:40

Now!

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:40

SB, put on this bunny-eared party hat and I'll put on some bouncy music.

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:41

So, do bunnies like hiphop?

MangeTooT · 20/12/2008 19:46

Oh, you've all gone again!

FrannyandZooety · 20/12/2008 19:49

i'm here
