For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

at SB going to a Ball. I've got a party dress on to do the ironing in cos I NEVER go out!

SuperBunny · 19/12/2008 18:40

TooT!

My dog had mange. Then I got something rather odd. And it still comes and goes. The dr says it is dermatitis but my family still say I have mange

SuperBunny · 19/12/2008 18:42

LOL @ Mou in her party frock, doing the ironing. I don't think it will be fancy - there will be belly dancers and kids activities. I have a black skirt which seems a bit unfestive but since the solstice is about darkness & light I could argue that it is quite appropriate.

Right, must take DS to find Santa on the subway.

TigerFeet · 19/12/2008 18:50

That looks fun SB

I don't have the legs for party dresses.

TinyWhiteFeather · 19/12/2008 18:52

Neither do I TF, but am growing old disgracefully enough not to care anymore.

pinkspottywellies · 19/12/2008 18:55

I like it TooT

DD, DH were talking earlier about who loves who (mummy loves daddy and dd, dd loves daddy and mummy etc [lame I know!) and we decided that we will all love her new baby brother

FrannyandZooey · 19/12/2008 18:59

avi nice to see you
shady means a little bit dodgy in essex speak
mine's also a headache but it's better now - why will yours be gone tomorrow necessarily?

so let me tell you some more about my london trip yesterday
i was feeling quite confident about the train trip what with the dses being quite easy going and also the insider 1st class knowledge thing
however was HORRID and STRESSY
train was rammed - at 10.30 am on Thursday morning? luckily nice people found seats for us in a corner
ds1 wanted toilet constantly - wtf? he is 5 and not prone to toilet neediness. we would just get sorted somehwhere and he would p[ipe up that he needed a wee
ds2 unimpressed with journey and i had to keep taking him out of the sling, which is fine, but i then need someone to hold him while i tie the wrap again to put him back in
will remember to take more user friendly sling next time but this one is most comfy for carrying around for long periods
anyway
he also kept wanting feeding just before we were due to get off a train
which obv doesn't work so he was left unhappy till we got to where we were going
ds1 nearly got stuck in train doors twice as we were getting off! people just not moving out of the way so we couldn't move through carriage to get off train at station
bfing on freezing platforms - brrr

Oh highspot was when ds1 trumped on the tube train and 2 people actually MOVED
the shame LOL
it was bad i admit but still - have some backbone people
it's only a trump

however
show was fab
began in foyer where the performers came to fetch the (small group of) children
led them into studio via a long piece of string they had to follow while walking around
took them on adventure to look after and rescue string babies! involving a pedal driven string machine (pedalled by audience)
there was a beautiful bit where bubbles rained down on us with rainbow lights - ds2 was in raptures
lovely music and singing

aaaah really nice
have to say wouldn't do again by myself though as too stressful and expensive on train
much better after dp finished work and met us
we're going for a few days after christmas - can't wait. i do like london

TigerFeet · 19/12/2008 19:05

Sorry about train woes Franny but your day out sounds fab otherwise. DD would adore something like that.

I love London too - I was there a couple of weeks ago, took my Mum to the Albert Hall to see the MAsters Tennis tournament. It was marvellous. I drove there, I heart trains in principle but the trains between here and London are, well, expensive, rammed and generally noxious. I even managed not to crash the car driving round MArble Arch [proud]. When I come into my millions [ha] I am going to buy a swanky pad in North London somewhere I think.

Guadalupe · 19/12/2008 19:15

I love London. We were meant to be going tomorrow and then on to kent the next day but I am too tired. We are all too tired really. Can't face a long day then sleeping in hotel before sunday lunch with the IL's. We'll go there and back in a day and do London things in the new year. We have a christening on the 18th, I expect I will have an outfit crisis.

Boco - I did look for a minute and wonder what being utterly ncelled meant. Isn't that annoying though if the books will come after all? They are usually quite a bit cheaper on amazon aren't they? Have fun at your dad's.

Toot - how is the mangey foot? Is it athletes foot, and have you got powder?

I am about to eat Huevos rancheros (sp?) from the deli. Too tired to cook. Have been at a children's christmas party drinking sherry and eating cheese and ham lattices. The diet pauses here I say.

Toot, I sent you a christmas card (smile).

FrannyandZooey · 19/12/2008 19:59

i think i am really rather stupid with tiredness
every year we go to this charity concert where the cast of the local panto perform songs and christmas readings etc
it's very nice
they sort of recycle the material over the years so you will get the same songs etc cropping up from time to time
they often do coventry carol and i usually cry they sing it beautifully and the words always make me blub and i often have either been pg or had a baby with me which makes it worse
anyway last night we got back from london and all i could think about was were they going to sing coventry carol because i couldn't bear it
dp came down and found me crying
"what is the matter?"
"they might sing coventry carol tomorrow oh dear waaaaaah"

LOLOL he doesn't really do emotions and this was quite bad even for me
he led me up to bed shaking his head and saying "silly, silly lady"

No but guad the ones that you got are cancelled on amazon as out of stock, the amazon order that's coming now after all is something different, it's dds present!

MangeTooT · 19/12/2008 21:47

Hellooooooo....anybody here?

Oh yes Feather, I got your beautiful card, thank you!!

And Fmv, your card too - it has been much wowed over thank you!!

I am ignoring my foot. My friend has invited us over for baths as a Christmas present sometime next week. I may look at it then [coward]

MangeTooT · 19/12/2008 21:48

Oh hello Boco

Guadalupe · 19/12/2008 21:56

Ah, I see, Boco. Well thats a spot of luck!

Guadalupe · 19/12/2008 21:58

Don't ignore it, Toot, get some powder!

MangeTooT · 19/12/2008 21:59

Hello Guad. I have researched goat patterns. There aren't many. I may have to design my own.

MangeTooT · 19/12/2008 22:00

But it might not actually be athlete's foot, so I might not need powder [obtuse]

Guadalupe · 19/12/2008 22:06

Well, I reckon it needs some sort of powder.

What else could it be? What are your exact symptoms?

MangeTooT · 19/12/2008 22:55

Oh dear. Do you really want to know?
Well, there's a sort of hole. Not deep. And a smell. It looks quite clean. It was emitting something but now it isn't, so perhaps it's getting better? [hopeful]
