For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

But I did GO FOR A RUN.

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 05:37

Where's Idris these days?

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 07:04

Sorry Guad about your woes, but what is your 'mothership' [dense emoticon]. And I hope ds2 is ok.

Belated B'day FK, sorry, was having a minor crisis, hope you had a delicious day.

Well done on run SB, I always feel so vibrant afterwards, do you get to run somewhere interesting?

I will definately keep you updated as and when postcards or cards come to fruition, but please bear with me as you know what time is like when you have to do practically everything so much in life.

Going to go and have a rant somewhere before my head explodes, if you find it please feel free to give me a shake pour sympathy on me.

Have a lovely day to all...

I love etsy, but I haven't bought anything off their yet...I just drool a lot and feel sad I am not so creative

mangolassi · 09/12/2008 11:06

Hey all.

TooT - I'd give her a dummy if she's asking for one, but I am a crap distracted relaxed parent. Can you find a non-toxic one? Have you suggested her thumb?

Guad - this thread seems to be where I display all my ignorance conveniently in one place, but what's a mothership? You don't have star trek models in your kitchen, do you? Hope ds is better and the head wound wasn't too bad.

FK - Happy Belated Birthday!

Smiles - have posted on thread but you've disappeared, hope you're running or otherwise getting you head straight X

Franny - drumming - b or c. I'm going to be optimistic for you and say c.

mangolassi · 09/12/2008 11:11

I keep posting before I'm finished today.

f+v:
coconut apple pomegranate
snow peas carrot onion cabbage tofu
rest of the pumpkin soup

As close to 10 as I've got, I think.

Not even asking about POD

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 12:05

weak tired , I'm here mango thank-you. Avoiding RL in case I make a tit fool of myself.

Anybody know any good jokes.....?

IdrisTheDragon · 09/12/2008 12:14

Although given the contents of the teddy bears picnic DD and I have been having, I am not exacly sure I should stay .

Guadalupe · 09/12/2008 13:03

Hello Idris.

The mothership is my ginormous turquiose le creuset pot that sits on the hob and has nearly everything cooked in it. It only needs a ladle and a jaunty apron appears tied with a bow and cakes cook themselves and bluebirds trill in unison on the step.

It. Has. A. Very. Big. Chip.

pinkspottywellies · 09/12/2008 13:08

Hi Idris!

Mango, did I say my sister's in Thailand at the moment? Coming home the day before Christmas Eve (airports allowing )

(((big hugs for mou)))

pinkspottywellies · 09/12/2008 13:13

Apricots, rhubarb, apple juice (I always feel better when I manage 3 at breakfast. Makes the rest of the day feel manageable!), soup - some broccoli and some b'nut squash. I'm having fajitas tonight

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 13:22

Eyes a bit blurry...thought you said your sister was coming home apricots allowing pink....mini lol

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 13:23

Oh and send it to me Guad. I am very good at 'sticking things back together again'.

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 14:16

Idris! Yay!

I run in the gym, Smiles. It is too cold (as in below freezing), slippery and scary to run outside here. And I am better on a machine where I have to run at a certain speed so I don't fall off. Can't respond to other thread now cos children are about to arrive but will read later (hugs)

I love Etsy too.

Drumming is good. There was a nightclub here that was a drumming circle but it shut before I could get there. I really wanted to go.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 14:19

Oooohhh, I like the look of etsy.

littlerach · 09/12/2008 16:00

Etsy is ownderful, but consumes a lot of time.

We had the preschool's nativity play today, and it was very sweet, quite a few damp eyes I feel.

Then mince pies, chocolate biscuits and shortbread for lunch

Am in the pit I think!

So what are all you veggers having for Christmas Lunch?

I need inspirtaion.

FrannyandZooey · 09/12/2008 16:43

we usually have lots of gorgeous deli stuff for christmas lunch
used to do the full roast gubbins (without meat) which we all enjoy but you end up faffing in the kitchen all day
now we just have lovely bread, nice cheeses, pate, olives, hummus, any little delicious things we fancy

hello idris!

drumming was good - ds2 was a bit taken aback at the beginning as he was due a sleep. he mostly looked grumpy and sucked my finger and then eventually fell asleep

just been to greengrocers and filled up my old lady trolley with apples

TooTicky · 09/12/2008 17:11

Just popping in briefly before we go out.
Good to see Idris
Hugs to Smiles.
And to everybody.

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 18:48

Franny's xmas lunch is my favourite type of meal. It was always called 'bits' in our house. I had mushroom wellington for my xmassy dinner.

Where are you going Toot? It's not DS's op is it?

SuperBunny · 09/12/2008 18:49

Thinking about the time, I am sure it is not the op, so when is that? I have confused myself about it all.

SmilesLikeNoOther · 09/12/2008 19:55

Mmmmm, etsy looks like the kind of site that my work might suit. I might approach them in the new year.

Hello Idris, we don't know each other but you must be delicious and gorgeous just because you are on this thread!

Listening to carols and finishing my last christmas cards.

My christmas Dinner has been decided for me, but we won't go there.

I love drumming passionately franny. I saw an amazing drum group at the eden project and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Is it Toots woodcraft night?

ahundredtimes · 09/12/2008 19:55

I just read the thread! How about that. I haven't been on MN for weeks, and I read this thread. Here are my thoughts:

  1. Franny's dp SO didn't buy that dress - she's made it all up because she wanted it and people told her not to.
  1. FMV. I have many, many Anne thoughts. Here they are in a shortened version: 1. you have to DITCH your anxiety when discussing this. Most important. 2. Read The Unwritten Rules of Friendship and go through this with ds2. 3. Don't be too sensitive about it. Name the problems: 'I think people are a bit wary of you because you talk too much / are a hysteric. Usual rule of thumb, say three sentences and shut up. That book is VERY good to go though together though you should read it first. 4. Get Tough, and Positive. Do wrapping in love, but also do - I think we're going to crack this. It's stupid not going in the playground. Challenge One: when you go into school today - say hello to people and SAY THEIR NAME WHEN YOU DO IT. Then come home and tell me how it goes.
I have lots more Anne like thoughts on this.
  1. I can't remember anything else now. Someone was going to do their hair.
