You have so much on your plate, with your poor dh, and a baby as well, but I admire your strength.

zubb · 16/03/2005 20:32

misdee - glad he's on the list now.
It would be easier for you if he was at home wouldn't it, even if it meant a stay back in hospital every few weeks.

Mirage · 16/03/2005 20:46

Only just caught up on this Misdee.

You & your family will be in my thoughts & prayers. You are a fabulously strong woman to be holding your family together throughout your dh's illness.

I hope your dh gets the transplant he needs really soon.

noddyholder · 17/03/2005 15:37

Sometimes staying ib speeds things up and is less unsettling for the patient I know before my transplant I was being taken in to sort out every week for a few days ata time and in the end they kept me there.I know this will be horrible for you but i9f he is so ill at home you will have 1 more person to look after which may be really hard for you.I know someone in the US who had the LVAD and it was v succesful and actually made her feel better before a heart became available Your dp could go home with that IIRC Hope things get decided asap xx

misdee · 17/03/2005 16:16

this is going to sound really really selfish i know. but i need dh to come out of hospital long enough to sign the new agreement on our car (which is currently sat at the dealer garage waiting for dh to collect it), so at least its for when i pass my test. to have a car and be able to drive would mean it'll be easier for me to see dh and i'd be able to do the school run etc without being tired, and be able to do things for dh.

noddyholder · 17/03/2005 16:23

Can't he sign it from hospital Dp had to bring in all my letters bank stuff etc to sign when I was in.Good luck with the driving

misdee · 17/03/2005 16:29

we were able to order the car etyc with him in hospital and signing the paperowrk then, but he has to collect the car in person.

noddyholder · 17/03/2005 16:33

Then the hospital may just let him out to do that if you stress how important and vital it is to your family. In a serious situation like yours the hospital should help you in every way they can not just medically.I was allowed out a couple of times for school things although it wasn't standard procedure they do bend the rules at times esp as you are a young family I hope they can help you it sounds like you have so much to deal with xx

misdee · 17/03/2005 16:35

will wait and see what they say over the weekend. they still arent 100% decided on the angiogram tomorrow.

misdee, you posted that you were due to take your theory test this week. Did it happen or did you have to postpone ?

You mentioned that you need the driving licence to organise all the family ferrying - and to stop bankrolling the local taxi firm I bet !

Can I ask if you hope to do a manual licence (to drive all cars) or an auto license (only drive auto cars) ?

I ask because the wife of a mate of mine (posted on here only a few times - jazzybee), is a manual driving instructor. She does intensive tuition. They live in Pinner, but could teach you around Harefield if you're gonna be there lots as it's near her ds's school.

She can't teach auto as her car is manual, but if you want to go for it (with her or anyone else) I'll shout you your first lesson. Gift from a stranger. I'm sure others who wanted to do a tiny gesture of MN help for you in your crazy situation might be able to help out.

Well ?????

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 21:54

no more like, getting her sister to ferry her everywhere!!!!

hub2dee · 17/03/2005 21:59

"Hello, Sparkly Taxis..."

"Harefield ? Of course, sir. We're there all the time sir. What time is the pick up, sir ? Of course, sir, all our drivers wear ties sir."

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 22:00

hehe!!! I have just texted her to tell her to come back on here...

hub2dee · 17/03/2005 22:01

Can I ask if you're the same poster as Miaou, sparklymieow ? Or are you someone else ? Are you pg and due in August and trying to figure out what nappies to buy ? Or are you someone else ?

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 22:03

hub2dee · 17/03/2005 22:09

Are you sure ? Have you taken a test ? Sometimes it can be hard to tell.

Are you feeling nauseous ? You know... I had this friend once.... she gave birth in the toilets at work....

hub2dee · 17/03/2005 22:11

As if misdee doesn't have enough problems of her own, sparkly... her sis can't even use a mobile phone properly ???

Kayleigh · 17/03/2005 22:11

misdee, am keeping everything crossed for your dh. And thinking of you. X

hub2dee you are lovely

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 22:11

no I defo. ain't pregnant, I think I would die!! do you know my life story??? I couldn't have another baby now, too much going on!

sparklymieow · 17/03/2005 22:13

she keeps changing her number, I know she gave me a number recently but whether I actually put it into my phone is another matter

hub2dee · 17/03/2005 22:19

Sorry, don't know your life story sparkly. Can you summarise in three lines (if that's not being too flippant) - can't be rummaging through Archived Threads trying to piece together the family tree

Kayleigh - not lovely, just sometimes want to do something tiny to help people when life dials them a bad number. There are loads of people like me, who would do some tiny silly gesture to help out another in need. (Kind of humanistic optimist I guess). There was no collection for Bo, but I wanted to do something then too. I have suggested to MN HQ that some kind of 'donation' system be considered and I am sure they will ponder it at their next meet. If hundreds of people give only a few quid - and only if they can - it costs everyone very little but can have a very big impact into people's lives.

Anyway, I'll shut up now.

Kayleigh · 17/03/2005 22:20

well i think you're lovely
