For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

yes, i would prefer to write 2 sentences but sadly it has to be a page. I reckon a couple of glasses of wine grape juice and I could waffle on enought o fill a page. It has to be a typed page too, not written so even longer. Doubel Pah!

I sense i may be using size 14 font and 1.5 line spacing.

Howdy Daisy, fear not, they let me stay and I am definitely nowhere near wholesome enough.

I have just eaten un an popped kernel of corn and it has somehow wedged itself up in between 2 of my teeth. It's made half the teeth on my top jaw go numb. Not unpleasant actually as before that happened i had horrendous wisdom tooth ache. Not anymore!

I suppose you could say for the pros: that the world wide web gives one a truly global perspective on things and stops one from becoming too ethnocentric.

OP posts:
OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:30

like it.

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:31

ethnocentric is a buzzword in voluntry sector at the moment

TooTicky · 07/10/2008 16:33

I used to have a brain once. You are talking above my head (which isn't difficult at just over 5')

I smell mango - has Franny been here?

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:35

Umm hello. Thanks for offering a guided tour FMF. I have read this thread (is there more to know ?!?) sounds to me like a fair bit of eating and quite a lot of talking which sounds excellent

but please guide me if I go a bit wrong

crikey, it's a bit like starting school. I hope you will like me

Osba I always do embarrassing things like try to fish bits out of my teeth with a paper clip just when someone else walks into the room....

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:37

I would say a con for the internet is you start out with a perfectly sensible question like "what is that spot on my chin" and then google through 5 links and end up convinced you have some necrotic violent death causing thingy instead

not put very academically but you know what I mean

I think it has a name - googlitis?

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:38

what I mean is the searching through the internet thing has a name

of course the necrotic violent death causing thingy has a long latin name

that you have to google to find out how to pronounce....

OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:38

tsk. Amateur. I am using my cross stitch needle as we speak to remove the offending item.

Seeing as I have ground to a halt on the cross stitch mat as well put the needle to some use.

DH (vile minger) uses the edge of £ notes. Skanky man. I dread to think where they've been.

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:39

Hmm
I have first day nerves. Talking too much

I hope I don't have to change my name to Last Post

I'll shut up now

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:40

don't the £ notes go all soggy and get stuck too?

it could be an expensive spiralling circle of things getting stuck...

OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:41

Yes, it's the length of the writing that is bothering me really seeing as every seminar for each different subject has given us the same assignment worded ever so slightly differently.

OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:42

lol, yes we're forever losing money in DH's gob.....

No, he has it down to what is suppose could be called 'a fine art'

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:42

well, you should know our great leader FranmnyandZooey is tsaking a MN break at the moment as she has just had a baby.
And some of us have met up, so if it seems cliquey, it's not, but some us know each other more than 'just' on MN.
And some of us use all sorts of excuses as to why we don't do formal excercise
And some of us have seen photos of each other nekkid
And some of us (me) will try and make you eat more cake than is strictly healthy....

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:43

if no one else is around, I use my long hair as dental floss!

OP posts:
OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:43

and FMF is a pirate

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:44

Butternut squash soup and grapes.

And I would have had an apple but the sandwich shop had sold out. So I had to have cake instead. But it was home-made....

OP posts:
OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:44

she only has one leg

and uses her hair as dental floss.

oh, I see you've already covered that

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:46

oh, and if a poster callled filthymindedvixen turns up and greets you in an over-familiar way you've scored it is actually me! I have a low boredom thresh-hold so like to ring the changes, depending on my mood.

OP posts:
daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:48

I definitely have an clock in my tummy that ticks and tocks most of the time saying "EAT EAT"!!!

Oooo meeting up in real life, how wierd! Did you get on? well, that's a stupid question or you wouldn't still be posting together....

Maybe I should go and eat some bean sprouts in a surge of First Day goodness

OsmosisBanana · 07/10/2008 16:48

you've scored

funny bugger

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:50

How curious. Does a name change alleviate boredom?

Do you ring changes always with a F sort of name - Filthymindedvixen/ Fullmoonfiend - actuall an FM sort of name...

FrayedKnot · 07/10/2008 16:51

Hello one and all and welcome to Daisy

For the record no-one has ever seen a photo of me nekkid

I liked that last point about self-diagnosing a spot on chin as necrowhatsit

I have had a salad and two clementines thus far.

daisy99divine · 07/10/2008 16:51

you've scored

actually, I hadn't got MN down as a key place for a snog....

fullmoonfiend · 07/10/2008 16:53

well no, not per se, but I was fmf for years then another mNetter dubbed me a filthy-minded vixen and I thought ''how fantastic a name is that?'' and I am a gemini so am a little dual-personality, so FMV comes out when I am feeling saucy or minxy.

I'm scaring you now, aren't I?
