For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Pink - stop glugging the neurotoxins!! Have fat coke or no coke. Just do the stepper a bit longer.

TooTicky · 07/10/2008 22:32

Ooh, I have googled 100x too!

Franny, come and tell me all about it

Um, well done to all you fruit eaters. I am doing v. badly atm, except for apples. We have lots of apples and I eat them when I am walking.

MrsC, I like the way the house spoke to you.
(extreme at 5 bedrooms though!)

pinkspottywellies · 07/10/2008 22:36

'it felt like my front door' I love this I feel similar about my mum's new house. I didn't mind where she lived before but the first time I visited the new house I just went 'ah, yes, this is right'.

Boco · 07/10/2008 22:40

..I just googled 100x too - did anyone else come up with erotic fiction about people giving each other enemas? Dirty 100x. That poo disdain was all a front.

TooTicky · 07/10/2008 22:41

No Boco, are you using a filth engine?
Nice to see you btw, you have been scarce of late.

berolina · 07/10/2008 22:51

Good evening all. Hello Franny. House at Guad. Excitement for Boco.

Pear. Apple. Much pumpkin soup.

I am sort of back on MN but feeling a bit restless with it and do not have the time to be on MN properly, which means people forget me I have come to the conclusion that I am rather forgettable. I remember when I left my teaching assistant job during my degree many moons ago one of the teachers said something like 'You've been a great help in your quiet, modest way'. I was a bit as I saw myself more as quite pushy actually. But actually I might be quiet and modest.

TooTicky · 07/10/2008 22:53

Bero, you are not forgettable. I'm glad you're back

daisy99divine · 08/10/2008 00:09

Oh I am feeling a bit overwhelmed that two of you gave me actual proper thumbs up

FrannyandZooey of course you can keep me

managed grapes this evening (mostly half spat or cut up for DS but still fruit) and carrots - bit raw 'cos ran out of oomph for cooking

and I did cycling today - half an hour on proper bike cos that's how I get around, but I mostly mooch and dream so I am not sure it is actual excercise, but you have to keep moving a bit or you fall right off ...

right, gotta go and do some work - always after all others are in bed right?

thank you for a lovely first day

daisy99divine · 08/10/2008 01:59

Just scored 13 out of 15 on celebrity baby name quiz. I feel strangely proud

It's not fruit, it's not veg, it's not exercise, but I thought you might understand

Nor is it work or any excuse for sitting at my desk at 2am ....

but I guess I could help Osba with her Star magazine thingy

mou · 08/10/2008 07:45

Mmm, i'm a bit of an early worm, so morning all.
Added broccoli, cauliflower, blackberry and apple, and nuts to my list for yesterday and got out for a bike ride.

I'm adding drinking the 2 litres of water to my goals.

I can't actually remember what else I did yesterday.. senior moments at 39!!

Anyway, off to do packed lunches and all so, I hope you all have a good fruity day....

poshtottie · 08/10/2008 07:55

Yay! I managed five portions yesterday.

orange juice, pineapple, broccoli, kale and sweet potato.

I also dusted off my juicer and had a carrot, apple, celery and ginger juice.

Walked to nursery to pick up ds yesterday and back again instead of getting in the car.

TooTicky · 08/10/2008 08:50

A night bird and an early worm!

Mou, sorry to shatter your list but Franny says nuts don't count. Very good in their own way but not actually F or V.

Ds2 fell over last night with his toothbrush in his mouth and there was blood. He is having a day off to recover. Ds1 is taking it very well.

mou · 08/10/2008 09:10

Mou has a hissy fit about nuts...

Yeah , I burn the candle at both ends, and in the middle. But touch wood the insomnia is in remission at the moment.

Miss late night chats though.

Poor Ds2, no serious damage I hope.

Guadalupe · 08/10/2008 11:30

I just walked past the house and the for sale and auction sign is still up because dh hasn't confirmed a solicitor yet. Other people were stopping to look and I had to stop myself from hissing at them to go away for it's mine. I can't take this much longer, I've barely slept and I keep bumping into things. Que cera and all that.

No food, though I might have scrambled eggs on toast in a minute.

Boco- good luck with deadline.

Just realised there are loads of new people!

Boco · 08/10/2008 12:02

Steal the sign Guad, it'll make you feel better.

Just had my allergy test appointment - took off all the patches and one of them very red and angry - and turns out it's nickel. Dr said with a reaction like that i'm probably allergic to coins too! I had NO idea. So, buttons and belts and underwire etc all have to go or be replaced. Glad to have got to the bottom of this horrible thing though. Will be lovely to not itch. Back on friday for the next bit and then i'll know for sure.

Guadalupe · 08/10/2008 12:08

Wow, Boco, so it could have been your belt causing the stomach rash? Gosh, what a relief to know at last. Annoying about the coins though, you'll have to get the shopkeepers to drop it on the counter and then flick it into your purse. They'll think you're bonkers.

OsmosisBanana · 08/10/2008 13:21

if you tried asking any of the shopkeepers round here to flick coins at you you'd get the police called out.

I am having a rather nice day. It is very sunny, have been to the gym, been round town and paid bills and all rather dull, but peaceful and pleasant cos DD is in nursery.

CharleeInChains · 08/10/2008 13:26

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!

It's me! [perky perky!] bet your all soooooo excited!

I didn't know this was still about! I am so joining again but im going to generally lurk untill i come back from holiday on the 17th if thats ok.

But just so you all kow i am still doing copius amounts of shopping so am still excersisng my butt off and i am still eating loads of fruit and veg but unfortunatley also alot of junk so i am going to try and cut down afer my break. I am also loving Wii Fit its awesome.

daisy99divine · 08/10/2008 13:41

morning / afternoon all!

So far banana and blueberries and pear and a glass of orange juice - does that count?

Like the idea of stealing house auction signs - you could put it up at your "old" house to help it on its way

also lol at flicking coins - but not so sure about underwired bras - could get in trouble flicking those

see you later!

daisy99divine · 08/10/2008 13:45

Is Boco the bra flicker also Boco with the umbilical cord in the Hunterian jar thingy?

I read that thread and laughed a lot and made about my first MN post on what was a very busy thread which suddenly died ...

I felt a bit foolish and like all the kids had run off to play in another playground

Guadalupe · 08/10/2008 13:51

Everyone gets that, Daisy, rite of passage.

Boco · 08/10/2008 14:23

Daisy yes that was me with the jar of umbilical cord. Sorry about that rites of passage thing - still happens to me now, all the time. I started a thread yesterday about something fairly stupid and had that 'no one will reply' fear.

OsmosisBanana · 08/10/2008 15:16

I am thread killer de luxe. Sometimes i write stuff on here and people bugger off for days on end.

Mostly happens elsewhere though.

jar of umbilical cord?? how did I miss that treasure??

mou · 08/10/2008 15:46

Hey, I've just backtracked on thread a bit....hi superbunny!

And hello to all the names I don't know.
Exciting about the house Guad, and a bit scary.
Mind boggles at jar of umbilical cord!
Apple juice, apricots, cherry tomatoes and am about to make a big veggie casserole.(whispers nuts). Also doing well on water.
Got out for another good run. Best so far.
Hi daisy, not been on here long myself but welcome anyway, nice to 'meet' you.

daisy99divine · 08/10/2008 16:12

well that's ok then
I won't worry about you all running off!

jar of umbilical cord is well worth a look - not least because Boco's DCs are playing on it - they have little people running up and down IFSWIM - I suddenly realise I might be reviving old thread on here so will shut up!

Sorry to hear that nuts don't count, had a few mascerading (sp??) as a chocolate praline last night
