For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Have we had that as a title?

When I was not falling asleep last night I thought of another Levellers one but tis not v good and sounds quite un 10/10

Spuds, swedes and peas really don't matter...

Will think of good ones but have lost the ability to do this

filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 20:09

evening all, have just had huge veggie curry - realised I didn't eat today among all the sorting and stuff.

Hello

Have a good time Franny & family

Sorry to hear of postal problems but I think Parcelforce can take ages, can;t it?

Have been to Ikea (at 9am to avoid crowds ) and then had a big clear out and reorganziation in my kitchen

I feel most refreshed and ready to cook lots of stuff

Had huuuuuuge row with DH in car on way to Ikea. Luckily we had made up by the time we got there so no need to have the normal huuuuge row in the middle of the store! It was actually quite relaxing and enjoyable.

F&V a bit sparse though....had some tinned peaches found at back of cupboard

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 20:27

What a find, FK

I have been making decorations for DS's birthday cakes and my hands are now red, purple and green. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed to no avail.

Had the Talk with my friend last night and was sort-of ok. I'm not thrilled with her but we chatted and was quite nice. She said she was glad I had emailed her.

Lots of rain here. Ike is on it's way.

littlerach · 13/09/2008 20:35

Oh, SB, are you on the path for it?

WE are braving Ikea tomorrow morning I htink.

Bought lots of F&V today, but not eaten much.

DH has just droppped a jug out of th ebathroom window
He was removing a spider form dd1's room, and forgot to keep hold of it

Dd2 really enjoyed school, and the teacher said she was confident (euphemism for loud, I think!)

But she has been crabby as hell since.

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 20:52

lol @ jug

Am glad DD did well at school. I think loud confident is good in the first week.

Ike will have died down but will reach me tomorrow, so lots more rain and wind. But nothing like Texas or Arkansas.

FrayedKnot · 13/09/2008 21:06

LR glad DD2 got on OK. DS told me that he said he was bored to the teacher one day last week

I can;t reliably know he did, for sure, but I got the impression he was disappointed that there was nothing out that he wanted to play with - he wanted the trains out, I think.

Still I expect she has formed an opinion of him

Glad talk went OKish UR

Will you post a pic of the cake? What is it?

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 21:53

Bored? Oh dear. I think it takes some time to adjust to a classroom and work out what you can do there. Especially if the trains are not out.

Was making Lego bricks to go on the top of cupcakes. Had to make them in advance so they can dry. Birthday not til next week.

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 21:57

We have had a mad day - walked/cycled/buggied 7 or 8 miles along the canal to go in a tethered hot air balloon, then arrived to find they'd run out of gas
Didn't leave as early as we could have done, ds1 shot off on his bike and got home in an hour and a half.
The rest of us were somewhat slower, not helped by buggy puncture - luckily front wheel.
In the end dp picked us up because dd1 was flagging.
Canal path strangely lovely in the dark - lots of mist and bats

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 21:58

Edible lego bricks? Do your talents never end?

FrayedKnot · 13/09/2008 22:00

Respec' to UR

Hello TooT!

Sorry about balloon

FrayedKnot · 13/09/2008 22:01

Actually respec' to you, too, TooT

7 or 8 miles

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:02

Still, it was a day of achievement - the furthest we've been along the canal. And we had nice things to eat

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:02

Yeah, and at least 5 back....

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:04

FK, I hope ds's teacher respects his honesty and takes on board what he's said!

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 22:15

Shame about the balloon. But lovely to see mist. And Bats. They're my specialty. What a long walk, especially with a flat tyre and flagging children. Well done, Toot.

The lego bricks are not very impressive. I bought a Lego ice cube tray and squished fondant icing into it. Not v creative at all. Will throw them on the cupcakes. Will post pic when I've done them

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:18

And there was me thinking you'd carefully hand-moulded proper, buildable little bricks
Bet they'll look great though.

If we'd known we would be out so late, dd1 could have brought her bat detector.

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:19

Is it Daubentons that fly low over water ? Or Natterers?

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 22:21

Ooo, you have a Bat Detector. How Fab. SO do I. But then it was my job... Yes, Daubentons over water usually. They fly low over it and scoop up insects from near/ on the water. Other bats fly over water too but they don't scoop

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 22:23

What was your job.....?

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 22:29

I was a volunteer bat worker - rehabilitated injured/ orphaned bats and worked for my local county council conservation dept. I had to survey listed buildings for use by bats. Am an expert at crumbling bat droppings

mou · 14/09/2008 09:31

Just a quickie...

Wow, can i interject and say what a fab job? i love bats, they are so pretty. We get a lot where we are. I worked for the wildlife trust for a few years and bats and voles were two of their primary concerns in this area. There is a resurgence of voles in our local canal, do you see them Toot? If you go in the evening they are really confident and sit on the banking for ages so that you can watch them.

Brilliant idea about the lego bricks SB,i never think of stuff like that for cakes, my kids get icing and hundreds and thousands.....anything else looks like an explosion in a confectionary factory.
Hope the weather doesn't get too awful, we got sun yesterday and that lovely crispness of autumn....i love this time of year.

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 11:00

8 miles TooT!
You are SuperMum....

Wish me luck today, I need to raise as much as possible for ds's bloody expesnive school trip.

TooTicky · 14/09/2008 11:07

Good luck fmv!!! May you have many happy customers and none of the sniffy sort that haggle over 10p items

Wow SB, cool job indeed!

Mou, we don't see many voles, but we are rarely quiet in our walking Ds1 did see an otter recently though!
Which bit of canal are you near then? [nosey]

Right, off out for another busy one but taking the car this time. Bees, big bubbles and Jeremy Strong here we come!!

Love to all xxxxxxxxxx

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 11:08

TooT, what a heady mix (we heart jeremy strong, are you going to meet him?)
