For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The taxidermy is self-taught. In my defense, it was for education/ conservation purposes and the creature(s) died a natural death.

It's one of my secret talents.

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 08:45

I like your DD2, Toot!

Spine? Fresh spine?? Who's spine

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 08:47

Is it not quite icky to do?

Spine, probably field vole. Courtesy of savege hunter one-eyed cat. Now ex-cat.

mou · 13/09/2008 08:48

Laughing now Toot....don't know what to say! Also giggling at the thought of random things that could turn up on ones pillow!
Time for breakfast.....bye for now.

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 08:48

Self-taught? I can't imagine where you'd start.

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 08:52

Yes, can't remember how I learnt. It's quite satisfying in a way. Not icky to do at all. The ones I have done were all the same species and, um, the inside comes out as a little parcel. All v neat. Hope that wasn't tmi. I realise it is breakfast time for you.

I would not be pleased to find a gift from a cat on the floor.

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 08:54

Really? [fascination starts to overcome horror]

Guadalupe · 13/09/2008 09:00

Nothing worse than standing on cat's 'presents'. I went out to get the milk one morning at my mother's and felt sick as I stood in something squishy thinking it to be poo. I looked down and it was a bird with its entrails splayed through my toes like a little fountain.

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 09:06
Shock
filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 10:49

TooT - I found tht cake when goodling Boco cake images!!

My cat used to regularly leave half birds on a pillow as a present for me. She thought I was her mama!

Nearly had a huge fall out with dh. I went to party but came home early so he wouldn't feel all home-aloney on a friday night and also because I fancied some, erm, rubbing hands in doorways, as Franny would say.

He leapt up with joy when I came in and said: ''Oh good, You're back....now I can go to the party...''

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 11:11

On your pillow? Oh yuck!
We have a no-cats-upstairs rule - have done ever since one took to weeing on beds. Oh, and our one remaining one pooed on ds1's pillow last year.

Did you kick dh?

filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 11:18

no, I sulked
But then we had a full and frank discussion this morning and he is being most attentive

TooTicky · 13/09/2008 11:19

I have a mystery vegetable. How are you on gourds?

filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 11:22

OP posts:
TooTicky · 13/09/2008 11:38

Oh. I planted 2 types of pumpkin and 2 types of squash, from the catalogue without the colour photos, and I have a big vegetable - don't know which it is.

Of course I don't remember what I planted where!!

It is green and mottley but seems to be turning orange - or yellow....

FrannyandZooey · 13/09/2008 12:35

Hello, Franny. Have a lovely time in Southwold. We are camping next weekend but I think that's pushing it for the weather, will probably be our last one. The van will be great for weekend walks though, cooking a quick hot dog or making tea when it's freezing.

FMV - It's a whole week now, I am concerned about your parcel. I usually send first class but this was parcel force as it was heavy. It wasn't that much cheaper though, to take this long. If it isn't there by monday I will make enquiries.

Now I have begun to do stuff, I realise we have just been perching on the top of it precariously, and the whole thing could fall down. Metaphorically speaking and the actual house. There is fresh woodworm in the logs in the grain bucket and the wiring needs doing and the plumbing and there are mice and slugs and I am concerned that the whole house is shifting again. Bloody period properties. A Bovis home seems appealing for the moment.

Grapefruit, tuna salad and grapes.

Lullabyloo · 13/09/2008 14:41

Hello Franny
Have a lovely trip

I'm worried too Guad..it's five days since I posted mine to fmv.Sods law I didn't have enough money on me to use recorded delivery as it was a heavy parcel.

I sympathise with house stuff..we have damp & moths.Clothes & food type for about the sixth time,I cannot get rid of the varmits & keep chucking away vast amounts of dried food.
Yup ,a Bovis home could seem quite appealing

filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 14:41

I know Guad I'm sorry this has caused you hassle...
I'm feeling paranoid as Lully has sent me something too and it hasn't appeared yet. Though I did get my bargain boots from Faith delivered with no problem.

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 14:42

oh and Lully too

I don't normally have postal problems.

OP posts:
filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 14:44

I have that horrible feeling of ''oh we might make quite a lot of money tomorrow'' tempered ''what if we make no money and dh will be grumpy and we'll still be drowning in crap.''

We have some decent stuff to sell. Dozens of those metal Thomas toys, a playstation1 console, a rustic pine shelf unit with iron coat hooks and loads of VGC current paperbacks.
The temptation to just sell everything for 50p, just to get rid...

SuperBunny · 13/09/2008 15:26

Hellooooo Franny. Enjoy Southwold. I campled there once. My friend's elderly mother fell off her stool and bent then tent pole.

Show us your gourd, Toot

Yuk @ Guad's cat story

FMF, am sure you'll sell all that. Good luck

filthymindedvixen · 13/09/2008 15:37

is it a gourd of the chance??
