For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Yes, he lives near here - this is our third time
(If I had any spare money I'd get a signed book for your boys)

Actually, email me their names again [sieve brain]

TooTicky · 14/09/2008 11:30

Oh, you've gone

I just can't remember - they're on the tip of my brain - and my inbox has emptied itself since your last email

i am a motivation free zone in my head i have lots i want and need to do but i just dont

it is like being in a vacuum

Guadalupe · 14/09/2008 11:47

I like hot air balloons. I just bought a victorian piece of newspaper with a picture of a one leaving Paris for a friend, the one who's just had a baby while doing her textile MA show. Her work made me think of balloons.

Zippi - did you dream about Strider? Look out for that scene I mentioned next Saturday.

I thought ds2 had escaped lightly last weekend but he was sick last night and the night before so he is on dried crackers today. He keeps taking them to the cupboard and pointing to the peanut butter poor thing, but he ate normally yesterday and obviously it didn't clear up. Such a drag. I am meant to be going for an Indian. I am determined to make it though i don't exactly fancy it atm.

pinkspottywellies · 14/09/2008 11:48

FMV Wait come back!!!!!! Metal Thomas trains? Is it the Take Alongs?? We have started getting the take alongs ones and now DH DD wants more track and carriages and everything!! Ah well, I guess you've already left but if you come back and still have any then we'll talk!

I had more veg and bean chilli last night. TooT I've posted the recipe before - it's vegan, I guess. Just veg and chilli flakes and beans. You should try it.

Apple juice this morning is the extent of it. I've run out of museli and can't bear the thought of raisins (my other morning staple) in cornflakes is too odd for me (although I would in branflakes) [fussy foodie]

zippitippitoes · 14/09/2008 11:51

no didnty drean about him

i finished reading a novel this morning which i think was really enjoyable the woman in the fifth douglas kennedy

hope ds is better later

TooTicky · 14/09/2008 11:55

Oh MrsC, you know fmv's boys' names, don't you? Could you email them to me?

TooTicky · 14/09/2008 11:58

Sorry for all illness and don't-know-what-to-eatness and unmotivatedness.

pinkspottywellies · 14/09/2008 13:04

I'm going to do a roast today and have some parsnips out of the garden for the first time

MamaG · 14/09/2008 13:18

hello fruity ones. Been rubbish today re F&V I just want stodgy carbs so had noodles for lunch. Just noodles .

Hope everybody is OK, don't have time to read 200+ thread

pinkspottywellies · 14/09/2008 13:57

Stodgy carbs is good mamag. Don't forget we have special permission to eat anything

mou · 14/09/2008 15:02

Can i be vague and just say Derbyshire Toot? some of my threads a bit personal and a little bit paranoid about my identity, (sad). But didn't come on here to be negative.....

It's only quiet on the canal if i'm on my own for a run or something! And lucky Ds1 seeing an otter, i've never seen one in the wild.

Doing really well on F&V today, had a binge day yesterday.. naughty but very nice! Addicted to mixed nuts though, and tinned apricots if i can get them (in apple juice). Yummy cauliflower and broccoli soup for tea, allthough drooling at thought of roast parsnips!
enjoy!!

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 16:39

Lully!! MrsC Guess what!
postman came today . Sadly we were out but we have card through letter box saying there are 2 parcels for me. Phew!

It may be tuesday before I can pick them up (and I am assuming they are your parcels, as I'm not expecting anything else...

Pink, they are old school Ertl metal models. Will tell you what I still have later though if you are interested.

Well, car boot was quite grim,(DH hid in van in mortifdication as he hates the whole thing) but I actually am a born stallholder - i love chewing the fat with people
We made £50 profit which was my target figure and is a help towards the school trip fund.
It is desperate when people haggle over a Hobbs velvet coat and walk away because I asked an extortionate £2....

Have only eaten a mouthful of cheese sandwich but I will be doing one of my roasts with everything so am confident of hitting 10 by dinner.

FMf, 50 pounds soudns quite good. Will you do it again.

How amazing to see an otter, Toot. I've only seen them in a zoo or at the otter sanctuary place in Suffolk

I was going to try and make mincemeat today. It's pouring so I can't go out.

pinkspottywellies · 14/09/2008 18:27

Glad you made a decent amount at the car boot FMV. Won't have the Thomas thanks. When we got the Take Alongs it was at a model railway museum/day out place and I thought we should hang on and see what other sets there were in case we wanted a different set. DH thought dd had to have it then and there so I said once he'd decided that was it and we couldn't start collecting any other ranges, so I'd better stick with the ones we've got!!

The parsnips were lovely [proud] and the rest of dinner was quite vegful then we had Angel Delight. I also had chicken soup for lunch with decent amount of veg in. I'll have some fruit tonight while I'm ironing [yawn] so not a bad day considering my recent form!

SB - mincemeat

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 18:27

well I was quite chuffed DH hates the whole thing with a passion (snob!) so if I do another one, will team up with some friends in a similar position, as we can fit so much stuff in our car it's unreal.

OP posts:
Lullabyloo · 14/09/2008 18:38

Oh well done fmv
& woooo hoooooo about the parcels

at not spending £2 on a hobbs velvet coat

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 18:49

oh Lully, I am an arse...I have offered it to a friend - I should have sent it to you!

Grapes

OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2008 19:04

Funny how travelling with children is never as relaxing as we are lead to believe. I have had a small wriggling beast on my lap all day it feels like, screaming and kicking for the last 2 hours.

How is everyone? My contact lenses are so dry they are falling out of my eyes so will read thread at some point...

filthymindedvixen · 14/09/2008 19:09

have you been in portugal all this time OB? Are you all brown and chilled ?

OP posts:
OsmosisBanana · 14/09/2008 19:22

brown - a little, I don't really go brown.
chilled - not so much.

We had our wallet stolen the 2nd day we were there. With about 200 Euros and £150 in it and DH's bank card. Why DH felt it was necessary to have all of that in his wallet or indeed have his wallet on the beach is beyond me, but whatever......

Lucky we were with family who could lend us cash, but it adds another £350 onto the cost of the holiday, which apparently is going to come out of my new wardrobe fund. [pathetic]

But it was really good fun, way too much alcohol, am going on the wagon tomorrow to sort my head out for uni. The last bit of our hectic 'summer' is done and dusted, time to knuckle down......

SuperBunny · 14/09/2008 19:26

Welcome back OB. Sorry about wallet.
