For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Does anybody know about weeing and kidneys?

And nobody answered my question about wet walnuts tasting quite odd. Well, some of them.

Okay, off to bed AGAIN

TooTicky · 26/09/2008 00:20

I hasten to add that the wetness of the walnuts has nothing whatsoever to do with my bladder.

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 08:51

Happy Friday!

What are wet walnuts TooT?

Feel a bit more human today (Thank the gods, I haven't felt so crap for years, and normally I just Get On with stuff)
Still feel a bit crampy, but not as tired and woozy.
Housework blitz followed by some allotment digging today, followed by dssses both having friends over for tea (gah!)
Another family party this weekend, weather looks nice, am looking forward to an autunmal river walk in my parent's town, which is very old and crammed full of tea-shops and atmosphere

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 08:51

what about weeing and kineys, exactly..?

SlurZoom · 26/09/2008 08:54

Morning! oh yes I remember, vaguely that recipe thread. I'll hunt about and revive it it.

Very pleased you are feeling a bit better FMF

What about kidneys?

Erm no f&v yet

pinkspottywellies · 26/09/2008 09:03

Banana, raisins, swig of apple juice from the carton

Hoovering, washing up, clean cooker, will clean ktichen floor before I go out to storytime. Looking after 2 extra children this afternoon [terror]

Moony you sound very busy, have a lovely day.

An old friend found me on facebook last night. I have also found a couple of other people from the same group of friends. I've been thinking about them all this morning and miss them so much I want to cry. Oh I am crying!

MamaG I'm 19 weeeks tomorrow. Scan in 2 weeks. Nearly half way there!

Don't know about wet walnuts TooT. They sound charming

I don't think I've ever seen that recipe thread. But if someone finds it I will add some.

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 09:07

OMG pink, 19 weeks!

MamaG · 26/09/2008 11:20

ooh pink its always exciting to get to the halfway mark! How are you feeling?

Boco · 26/09/2008 13:15

I don't think that wet walnuts sound very nice at all. Probably don't eat them. What do you want to know about bladders?

Pink will you find out what kind you're getting? My friend had her first baby last night, very excited. She had a little boy.

Dd2 is BETTER. She's so better my head is spinning. Went to harvest festival service as dd1 had to say something about cheese, and dd2 jibbered adn jabbered and fidgeted and said 'when will the man in the dress stop talking?' and SO many people said 'well I can see dd2 is better!' as we filed out and she sang the 'We sow the seeds and SPLAAAATTTER' loudly to herself while hopping.

OsmosisBanana · 26/09/2008 13:23

I have my timetable.

It is good but is causing me to fret.

1st semester I have Tues and Weds off completely

2nd semester I have Thurs and Fri off completely

What to do? DD is currently booked into nuresry here 5 days week. Should I try and get a job in Bath those two days? SHould I make them half days so I can do a bit of library work but save on fees (petrol though?)

Or should I scrap them altogether? Would save about £280 a month. Admittedly about 75% of that is paid for by WFTCredit or whatnot.

Hmm. It's all good, just don't know what to do!

I don't have to be in till 12 on a Monday. Awesome!!

OsmosisBanana · 26/09/2008 20:50

farts.

no-one notices. possibly gassed to death.

anyone know if the M&S £10 thing lasts all w/e?

pinkspottywellies · 26/09/2008 20:51

Oh Boco DD sounds wonderfully better

I always feel like such a let down when people ask how I am, pg wise. 'Fine' is such a lame answer! But there's never really anything to tell. But I am fine thanks for asking and yes we will be finding out what we're having if they can see.

Hmm OsBa re nursery, can you hang on for a while until you get an idea of how much work you're going to have, whether you'll have to do groupwork between classes, how the driving is (might find it really tiring so want to keep to a minimum) etc etc. Niiiice lie in on Monday though!

Just been out for a work leaving do which was nice but had acrappy burger and chips. Teeny tiny bit of coleslaw though and some fried mushrooms so not all bad

Might do some steppering before bed.

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 20:51

ooh bugger, forgot about that...
Find out, OB, there's a love

pinkspottywellies · 26/09/2008 20:53

M&S £10 thing?

womblingalong · 26/09/2008 20:55

Hello my fine veggie friends!

How the devil are you all. Is Franny back? I have been lurking occasionally, but have been so boringly busy, have not had the time to anything interesting to saychat

womblingalong · 26/09/2008 20:56

How are the new schoolers getting on? We are going to start to get DD some uniform for starting school in jan - eek! Am a bit worried about the whole thing!

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 20:57

Not that I would ever buy a readymeal...

But M&S have this thing where yo can get 2 mains, 2 puds and a bottle of gutrot wine for £10

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 20:57

wombling!!! were were worried about you

womblingalong · 26/09/2008 21:02

Bless you FMF/FK, I'm fine, just feeling a little boring and stressed of late. Also I owe you a book from Bookcircle, I just depend on getting the next one to prompt me to send you the book I have, and I have not had another one for ages. I will pop in the post this week. Sorry!

OsmosisBanana · 26/09/2008 21:05

Yay! Womb! I mean Wombling!

Yes tis M&S 2 mains, 2 starters, 2 sides, 2 puds and a bottle of gak for £10. Apparently tis Thurs till Sun.

Some mysterious benefactor sent me a M&S voucher recently so will be standing in doorway of M&S dribbling and rubbing hands innapropriately!

Yes you're right PSW re hanging in there to see what extra hours i will need anyway - will have to serve notice of 2 weeks anyway whilst supposedly not 'at uni' so am planning on using the time doing A LOT of MNing photocopying then..

Ha! I knew the fart would draw you out!

Tis TooT's bday this w/e yes?

fullmoonfiend · 26/09/2008 21:11

oh! Oh Is it? I didn't know

TooT, if you check in, hope you have a splendiferous, sunshiney, sparling, smiley weekend!

(Many Hippy Returns)
x

OsmosisBanana · 26/09/2008 21:14

On Sunday. So the ol'FacieB tells me.

She's a dark pony that one. Pony on account of her cuteness.

BBBee · 26/09/2008 21:38

hello vegetablers

how are you all?

I am back in university study head burst mode - i hop elife is all good.

i have eaten crap

pinkspottywellies · 26/09/2008 21:52

BBB you're meant to put it on facebook when you eat crap!

OsBa sounds good about the M&S. I might head down there myself.

I saw about TooT's bday too. She was trying to keep that quiet! I'll put the balloons and banners out on Sunday morning. Who wants to be in charge of punch and nibbles? Or shall we have pancakes for a special birthday breakfast?

FrayedKnot · 26/09/2008 22:08

Hello dahlinks

Sorry I'm unfashionably late tonight.

OB could you drop one day of DD's nursery and then one day for study etc (whether at home or in library)? Methinks that's what I would do. Half days sounds a pain.

Pink [excited]

But if you do find out, are you telling?

We need to make a suitable cake for Sunday then

Hi Wombling, glad you are OK...DS has been getting on swimmingly at school so far, but goes f/t on Monday

Where is SB today

Am just pondering at the lack of chest hair on the lead singer of the Kooks...

Ask me not why
