For anyone who wants a boost to their general health (and to talk bobbins with a load of fruity nutters). The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh, making up stories is great! We have lots of popular story types that we return to. And one dreadful one which I think they have finally forgotten, thank goodness!

S1ur · 19/09/2008 00:14

Toot I like the generic ones too, the old faves that are like comfy jumpers and don't need new thought.

We have the superhero family (strangely similar to our own family natch) and several featuring forest animals and one about an acorn - used to send anyone to sleep for monotony

The latest we wrote down and illustrated and published was yesterday....

'The Surprising Elephant'

I thank you.

S1ur · 19/09/2008 00:15

Mind you I scared dd shitless telling tale about wolves and parental abandonment and vunerability, overstepped a line methinks.

TooTicky · 19/09/2008 00:20

We have Kipperbirds (dp's invention) who go for picnics and have their pants stolen by Bert the naughty weasel then found by Mr Policeman the Badger, endless variations on the three little pigs/monkeys/dogs, etc, various scenarios where dd2 meets Alfie and Annie Rose, usually at Monkey World, and she and ds2 turn into monkeys...... but thank goodness I have lived down the belly button bears!

Oh, I must sleep. I have stayed up late eating because I was so tired. Is this in any way sensible?

TooTicky · 19/09/2008 00:21

In what way was the elephant surprising?

S1ur · 19/09/2008 00:24

It wasn't clumsy. It made little wooden toy animals. very moral tale.

Oooh it reminds me I had a 'Party Cat' series for aaaagggeeeesss.

God that was great each day would ring me and tell me about party last night, ice party at North pole with polar bears, bubble party, halloween parties gawd everything!

May have to revive that one!

Night Toot.

TooTicky · 19/09/2008 08:34

Hello all

I'll give you a whizzy update on life a la MamaG at the mo

  1. Went to see MW today and feel HUGELY reassured. WAs feeling v wobbly about every decision I've made about birth/afterwards etc and utterly indecisive. She was fab, sensible and lovely.
  1. I rant Sky yesterday and LIED and said I was going to cancel becuase Virgin have offered me a V plus box for free - Sky said £49, I said no, Sky said free Sky + box plus free installation so they're coming to fit it a week today.
  1. Have a horrid cold so plan to do Not Very Much today, even though I need to pack for night away tomorrow (only PILs, nothing exciting).
  1. Banana so far today
  1. Got electric man coming to fix a faulty wire todayu - rock n roll eh?
SuperBunny · 19/09/2008 15:39

FRANNY!

Weetabix. They don't really have them here so it's a very special treat. DS calls it his New Special Cereal.

Glad MamaG is feeling happier re baby stuff

pinkspottywellies · 19/09/2008 16:01

No! Wait! Someone stop her!!!

Hopelessly badly organised today so ended up with chips for lunch but had banana, pear, raisins, oj this morning. Going out for dinner - dd much better today - but will need to eat with dd also I think. I'm starving. I have a friend who corrects me if I say starving. Cause I'm not but there are children in Africa who are indeed starving. But the appetite is definitely back now as is the weight

Glad to hear you're feeling good about things mamag. Stories sound fab, story-tellers. Can we have some tapes please?

filthymindedvixen · 19/09/2008 16:08

'FFrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to be whatever I, whatever I choose and I'll sing the blues if I want'

Joyously skips off to pub for leaving do.

Was there a whisper of a Franny about the place?

Hope all are well, I have some drinking to do. Get thee behind me wagon. Still, mustn't get too carried away, have serious clothes shopping to do tomorrow.

SuperBunny · 19/09/2008 16:14

I'd roaat the beets in balsamic or red wine vineagar

Do people still really say the staving children in Africa? I haven't heard that since I was about 6.

I was so hungry when I was pg. I could eat all day. And even more when I was BF. In fact, the hunger hasn't actually gone away although my need for the calories is vastly diminished

SuperBunny · 19/09/2008 16:14

have fun OB

FrayedKnot · 19/09/2008 20:34

I am always hungry

I have to be ill not to be starving

10/10 is a great way to eat loads but not put on much weight I have found, though

I have decided to make the chilli tomorrow am too tired tonight

Feta in the hole would be yummy, UR

Is that what you meant?

FrayedKnot · 19/09/2008 20:35

Sorry, meant FMV not UR

I must be tired

SuperBunny · 19/09/2008 20:54

I agree, FK

FrayedKnot · 20/09/2008 07:33

filthymindedvixen · 20/09/2008 10:40

morning. Am surprisingly hungover this morning., Which is not good. It is terrifying how much we all cosnumed in a relatively short space of time.
The roasted beets and feta in yorkie pud was a triumph!!

I did manage 10 yesterday though (we did roasted veg with the sauasages - squash, sweet potatoe, onions, shllots, peppers, parsnips, carrots. And green beans. And the beetroot of course.and raspberries with the tiramasu.
Have to get my head together now and pack for our night away.

Don't come too close, I am likely to sneeze on you. I have run out of cut up old muslins handkerchiefs.
Sniffle.
