For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

They were all still UP, huge difference between all still and all still up.

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:14

MrsC, was it the food that was tasty or your dh? Frosty but tasty like sorbet?

Am going to have to do lots of bitty posts I think. Apologies.

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:17

Tatties, what was it you wanted? No real notice needed unless it's something he has to order in, and most things come quickjly anyway. Escept glass chopping boards. Dp ordered one about a year ago to test and it still hasn't arrived

SB, dp says 5-7 days to get to you so not too late

Can I link to his site? Not in an advertisey way, just to save wffly explanations. Special rates for 10/10ers
here

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:17

except waffly

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:18
Hmm
TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:19

FK, I hope you had a bath afterwards.

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:20

Boco, that sounds good!!

Fmv, what are go-gos?

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:22

Avi, does he have to go? Do you want him to? Does he have to for practical reasons? Not knowing the situation, I'd be tempted to say forget it.

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:24

Bero, so glad ds1 enjoyed kindergarten.
Hope you can manage to find a way to escape that job. I still& haven't emailed you!! I want to do it when I am mentally efficient

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 00:26

Sorry I have probably missed people out but I am tired and BOLLOCKS just realised I haven't switched oven on for bread.

SuperBunny · 03/09/2008 03:04

Tatties · 03/09/2008 08:02

LOLOL at link for MrsC
Guad sounds like you had a good night!
TooT I will look at website and hopefully get something ordered this week

Right, need cup of tea

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2008 08:15

well does your nursery tend to answer the phone Avi? cos ours doesn't
I will assume your ds might be a bit sharper about this than mine though
good luck anyway

Boco who was the parcel from?
no you don't have to tell anyone you home ed, if your child has never been registered at a school
however they do tend to find you (can take years if you are lucky) and then you are legally obliged to give a statement of your educational philosophy - that's it. They may ask to visit or speak to you or whatever but you are not legally obliged to go along with it - however if they are not satisfied your child is receiving a suitable education they can take you to court and make you send them to school, so most people co-operate in one way or another

FK thanks I was reading a book last night which explained the shift from thinking that only play which is directed by a teacher has any educational benefit. That's what used to be believed, that a child couldn't learn anything from playing at all unless someone was sat alongside them saying "oh look! THREE blocks, and ONE block, makes FOUR blocks!"

I think meet up was adjourned
due to lack of giving a damn interest

I have really screwed up AGAIN with work and maternity pay
basically I have agreed to return to a job which will be extremely disruptive to us all, and probably knacker my pelvis which is NOT better, and will gain us about £6 each week
am twat
will cause bad feeling not to do it

OP posts:
Tatties · 03/09/2008 08:26

Franny do you feel you have to go back because you said you would? Your situation has changed though hasn't it? You didn't expect your pelvis to still be giving you trouble

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2008 08:29

no-oo
that isn't really why, though
I mean I am going back to my other job which is quite physical

I just don't want to completely upheave ourselves for £6, tbh

but I shouldn't really be discussing it here I don't think

Tatties · 03/09/2008 08:43

Ah sorry

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2008 08:45

lol superbunny's link...

F&V, we do give a damn about meet-up - this is just the time of year when I can least afford to go gallivanting, due to everyone's birthday, xmas, ds school trip, boat repairs etc etc etc Othwrwise I'd be there like a shot. Even if I was sitting in solitary splendour!

Toot, go-gos are litte plastic characters to collect which my 2 play with endlessly.
like this

they are 99p for 3 and we seem to have hundreds. Which explains why I am always so skint . Having said that, they buy a lot themselves and I will say there are loads of things you can play with them and better than sweets as a brbe/treat etc.

filthymindedvixen · 03/09/2008 08:47

oh and Guad at your lovely meal

F&Z - please don't force yourself to go back to work if you're not up to it

Boco - I had that free life coaching for the same reason last year - it was not rocket science but I did find it a great kick up the arse motivator to achieve some stuff I'd been putting off doing.

Tatties · 03/09/2008 08:55

Oh yes, I most definitely do give a damn about meet up... but can't commit to anything until we are settled. Afternoon tea in the spring though maybe?

OsmosisBanana · 03/09/2008 10:31

what what? when was there a hint of lack of interest?

I have crossed out all of DH's weekends in hid diary throughout Oct and Nov just in case.

Dammit. I hate being revealed as over-keen.

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 11:00

No meet up?????

Oh dear Franny, doesn't sound good

TooTicky · 03/09/2008 11:01

Oh, after a week of chasing eye hosp, have just found out that ds2's mystery appointment was "sent out in error". Good thing we didn't go then.

FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2008 12:06

FMV, sorry, I didn't mean you didn't give a damn! I kind of meant me, it was meant as a joke
only 4 people seemed to want to go though, and I couldn't be arsed to organise all that hoohah for 4 people, so I let it drop
I did say at the time - TooT I thought you said you couldn't come anyway? sorry if I've got this wrong....

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 03/09/2008 12:07

ditto Tatties, was not meant to be insulting, and I know you can't commit
just it wasn't happening as far as I was aware, not with 4 of us
