We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No, no, soggy sandwiches are for Wales. If we are lucky there will be teacakes.

There will ne langoustine and champagne but at a later date. I believe it may be raining in Antigua at present.

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 19:41

Look. It's just an away-day to cheer everyone up. It is the 10/10 sunshine bus from TooT's village. There's room for everyone. The castles will be fascinating. There will be singing and humbugs. We won't mind the rain because erm, well, we'll all be together. And yes, there will be lots of toilet stops.

Huddled up together, with a slight steam and smell of old perfume rising off us?

Are we allowed a cream tea, and are pop socks obligatory?

littlerach · 05/09/2008 19:43

Hopefully proper toilets, not squatty one slike in France.

Shall I bring my recorder for toooones?

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 19:43

[packs Ribena and sandwiches, crisps, luke warm overly milky flasks of tea, and a few vegan treats]

Oh Avi. I'm sorry. Did she say that? That is very rude of her. I hope everyone glowered at her.

I remember him liking it, and having a girlfriend or something? Has he picked up on your ambivalence about the place do you think? I mean that properly, helpfully.

Guadalupe · 05/09/2008 19:45

I used squat toilets in Thailand. That is all I have to say on the matter.

I don't like milky tea.

OsmosisBanana · 05/09/2008 19:45

Equally good. I consider myself honorary Welsh having always lived with the buggers and being married to a part one.

There will be ruddy cheeks and talks of walks up Snowdon that end up in the local cream tea shop. We shall all wear fleece and be way more glamorous than t'other fleeced up gaiter wearing folk.

We shall have flash 'walking poles' but strap them to the back of our rucksacks so we look super fit - 'what these' 'these are to fend of Welsh mountain lions'

And we shall pronounce Betys y coed properly like seasoned pros. Professionals not prostitutes in case there was any confusion.

Guadalupe · 05/09/2008 19:47

Yes, yes, Avi. We have postponed the hurricanes in the carribean, for, um, storms and gales in Wales, or have they reached the midlands now?

I read your post that you were going to take ds to playgroup and leave him there. I assume I misread it.

100 you're only doing this because you know the actual real meetup has been cancelled due to lack of interest. If it was going ahead you'd be too scared in case we demanded you put your money where your mouth is, or something on the table, or some such aggressive saying.

Swimming fine in the end, took it in turns to float my grandmother around.

I have put the children to bed extra early because they were SO NOISY and CROSS and because I'm half way through series 2 of The Wire and I need more. I'm thinking rude thoughts about Stringer Bell. I want to work at the Baltimore Docks now, with Lester Freamon. Wonder if the life coach can sort that out for me.

OsmosisBanana · 05/09/2008 19:49

good. welshness is good.

We used to mock it at school.. I never understood why. Especially when I went there.

Not so much the really northern parts that are a bit er Scouse. Sorry to any scouse.

Tough one Avi. Can you spin it? Thing is, it's a bit rubbish if you don't think the place is up to much. Is there anywhere else you might like more? Have we been through this?

I'm probably, or probably was, more hard core about it and just dispatched without giving them a glimmer that I would stay, or that there was an option they could leave - which I don't think you'd be comfortable doing. And anyway, I'm not sure it's quite the right thing to do in hindsight.

littlerach · 05/09/2008 19:51

Oooh, boco, what about Omar?

SuperBunny · 05/09/2008 19:51

oh dear, Avi.

Will we be allowed to wave at lorry drivers? And draw in the condesnation on the bus window? I once got in trouble for that. Someone wrote 'shit' on the window on the way back from swimming and the head teacher interviewed all 50 of us from the bus to find out who it was.

ahundredtimes · 05/09/2008 19:51

I'll come to Avi Island in 1928 only please.
