For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

There will be plenty MrsC. Everyone only needs a teaspoonful if it's with loads of other stuff and not everyone will want each dish. (Remind me of this next weekend when I'm making coleslaw for my new god-daughter's christening please )

OsmosisBanana · 01/08/2008 19:18

don't freak MrsC, it'll be great. No-one will notice even if it isn't great as they will ALL be swigging wine from the bottle.

I offered to cater a friends wedding as they only had £150 and I had a cafe so could get stuff cheaper and didn't charge for my time.... I offered when I was vvvv drunk at a festival and then had to cobble together THE lot in 2 days.

And my cafe staff didn't turn up to work whilst I cooked like a demon.

Everyone said it was good, all i could think after I saw the photos was 'it's all the same colour'. I'm pretty sure it was good though in spite of myself, as will yours be

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 19:33

I do hope so, OB, I am worrying about the balance of lemon and spice and parsley, def could have done with more parsley I think, and mint. Oh well, it will have to do.

Coleslaw is a pain to chop, Pink!!

Franny - I like quinoi too but I suspect we are in the minority. Maybe people will eat it by accident.

OsmosisBanana · 01/08/2008 19:38

taste it tomorrow, if lacking chuck in some preserved lemon bits, always a saviour. If you happen to have any. As i bet you do.

If in doubt - salt. Many a lacking dish can be disguised by a leeetle more seasoning.

I like quinoa. Or Joaquin as I like to call it to annoy my sister who thinks she is waaaaaayyyy more worldy wise than I.

I prefer bulgar wheat though. To cous cous and Joaquin.

pinkspottywellies · 01/08/2008 19:48

Food processor Guad Grater attachment for carrots, slicer attachment for cabbage, bung in huge bowl and mix mayo in with hands. Bob's your uncle

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 20:52

Yes, they were all out of Bulghar wheat in Rainbow. It had to be cous cous.

I don't actually have preserved lemon pieces. I have lemon oil, and lemon curd. And Ferero Rocher. They are proving handy.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 20:57

where is the talk round up
i had me and Boco tipped to be in it this week

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:08

they haven't sent it to you as a punishment for presumption

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2008 21:09

Hello

DH took the laptop on a work trip to scotland. Have been eating some f&v and doing some tidying the house exercise

When was I solemn and pithy I wonder?

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:12

oh come on
the clay cock and pigeon bingo both deserved to be in there for sure

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:13

big bowl strawbs, grapes, pear, apple

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:14

oh, yes the cock! That must be in. I forgot about the clay. I didn't read anything about pigeon bingo though, what was that?

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:16

vegetable quinoi and couscous salad.

Idris - we are all paranoid about what 100 said for one reason or another.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:17

oh there's a link on the home page
it's v funny

i am not paranoid but i now have delusions of funniness hence wanting to see if i am in talk round up

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:18

Well, you wouldn't be would you, because you were FUNNY, not ill or pithy or BLANK.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:22

i don't think there IS talk round up

bother

IdrisTheDragon · 01/08/2008 21:24

Is MP away?

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:28

well, I read the whole thread just now and i didn't laugh once. Not so much as a slightly forced exhalation through the nose at the same time as lifting the shoulders.

It's like reading a Richard and Judy book. When you know everyone else is doing it it puts you off.

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:30

Now, the 'what can I shorten Bruno to?' name thread made me guffaw.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:31

yes I know what you mean MrsC
wind up threads are the worst, when you come to them cold after the event
they are so not funny

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:36

yes they are the bad sometimes

that botox one was cringey while the pink one was fun

if you are involved in it and posting and wondering then it is a great laugh. I love the burned up boy in the cupboard.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 21:38

ds2 spent most of afternoon in sling sleeping
occasionally waking up with big unhappy roar then falling fast asleep again
wtf?
I don't understand babies and anything he does out of the ordinary makes me Nervous
because of, well, you know

Guadalupe · 01/08/2008 21:40

is that out of the ordinary?

I see why you are nervous but I thiink that's normal. He has a lot to sleep off. So do you.

fishie · 01/08/2008 21:41
