For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

It's reassuring to hear how long other people were on ADs and how they came off them. Thank you for sharing.

Is a 4.5 yr old and a pile of cherries not very messy?

Cauliflower (almost a whole one , erm 3? There must be a sticker for that?)
Courgette (2)
Blueberries (2)
Bananas (2)
Onion (1)
Tomatoes (1.5)

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 08:26

Tatties - Wow!! Would love to learn to crochet (Do I recognise those colours ? )

UR, it is a hard decision to make, I have no personal experience - but I am in a definitie minotiry in my family . But really really slowly as FK and TF has said would appear to be the best way. Good luck.

Franny - I just keep wanting to look at your ds2's photo and go Awwwwwww lots...

people are still posting on my wind-up thread, even though I definitievely confessed it was a wind-up - with sttupid pic links and everything.... People really do just read the OP, don't they?

Yestersay: Artichoke, Salad, melon, mango.

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 08:35

we were child-free last night and went out to see a band. I only had one pint and went to bed at midnight but feel so groggy and tired today [old fart]

berolina · 30/07/2008 08:41

at going out. I think I can vaguely remember what that is...

FrannyandZooey · 30/07/2008 09:29

UR there is a sticker for that
it says "Don't stand downwind of me today"

I was on abs for several years but I hated them and they never did me any good. They were the old crap sort, I haven't been depressed recently enough to get the new fancy sort that actually work
Anyway I consequently haven't any good advice to give about coming off them, but wish you luck with it

Avi please DO I am all agog

apple
strawberries
raisins

we are meant to be going to a children's show and then the cafe to see friends this afternoon
am unfeasibly nervous, feel like I am decocooning

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 09:32

morning.

A contact lens fell out of my eye on the way to work so I am doing to try and see. Looking forward to driving home later!! Hopefully will get a replacement at lunch time....

I did rather well last night on the bollocking DH front. I did the silent thing for a bit until he said 'are you pissed off with me?' (Ha ha ha) and then I actually managed to have a grown up conversation about exactly why I was so angry and managed to not shout or start ranting and throwing in unrelated minor incidents from a million years ago.

AND THEN, dear reader, I managed to to let it go and not sulk at him all night.

Lorks. It's unheard of.

TF, crikit today. any thoughts?

Boco · 30/07/2008 10:19

Which was your wind up thread Filthy?

Well done on good man-handling OB.

I want and need a car - am getting village fever, am banging on the walls of the village shouting 'let me out!'.

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 10:27

pink, pink wedding

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 10:29

Boco, you know you can't leave The Village. the Village will not allow it. mmmmwwwah hha hahaha. If you try and cross the boundaries, the hedgerows will grow huge and dense and block the path, and the cawing rooks will warn the scarecrows who will edge foreward zombie-like to grab you...

Boco · 30/07/2008 10:47

We were supposed to be going to stay with a friend by the coast in a 9 bedroomed huge house! Dp couldn't get the time off

dd1 has made a medical kit for my bag as she says I'm never prepared when things go wrong. It contains plasters, tissues for the bleeding, sudocrem to stop the infection, insect bite gel, and a tube of athletes foot cream. I did explain we hopefully wont' need that while out and about in the village. I think she may be developing my neurotic tendencies.

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 10:49

Like in Sleepy Hollow - you must never leave the village Boco.

What do you mean pink, pink wedding FMV? Are these the ramblings of a madwoman drunk on a night of freedom?!

Boco - I read your excema post, I do a lot for one of the paed consultants here and happen to have a copy of the Clinical Guidelines for childhood excema (still can't it though) as set out by NICE if you want it. I can email it to you.

I refer to it occasionally for DD. Who shall just be D today on account of her horrendous behaviour this morning.

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 10:49

can't 'spell' it though. Duh.

Boco · 30/07/2008 10:51

Oh yes, I did see that, thanks that'd be great. Do you have my email?

Boco · 30/07/2008 10:54

I tell you how bad things have got. Yesterday went for a nice walk with friend - in the village and to the nature reserve up the road - and was outrageously excited to find not one, not two, but THREE white dog poos! I thought they were a 1970's early 80's thing. I was tempted to start a thread, but managed to talk myself round.

Do you see? See how I'm living?

TigerFeet · 30/07/2008 10:54

Well done OB on the DH thing. I am hoping that Collingwood's recall will magically transform them into winners [hollow laugh]. I heard the Edgbaston groundsman on the radio the other day saying that Harmison would be a crap choice because the wicket wouldn't suit his bowling style - looks like the England Selectors agree. (see - I sound like I know what I'm talking about again there don't I?). Do you follow county crikkit? I'm afraid I don't really

Even if you get a car Boco will They let you out?

Three small apples
Had to throw my two clemetines away, they had all shrivelled up inside
Also my plums were far too soft and had bruised so tehy are in the bin too

STOP PRESS I remembered my lunch today

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 11:08

Can't find your email address as am at work (!!) but try thisBoco

It's quite wordy, I have a scaled down version if you want it.

I don't follow county cricket, it's not interesting enough.

berolina · 30/07/2008 11:14

FMV that was you?! Well done! Pure gebius. I really was not sure if it was a wind-up, though the pink sashes did tip the balance a bit.

oh Boco shall we swap? I am desperate for a bit of Rural Idyll.

talking of swapping, our flat is empty from 6-16 Aug, if anyone wants a last minute city hell idyll break. We thought a friend's sister would be coming but it seems she probably isn't.

Hooray for TF and her lunch

ds1 and I are going to make carrot muffins now for the summer party at New Lovely Kindergarten this afternoon. I would very much like to make a good impression.

berolina · 30/07/2008 11:15

genius

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 11:19

Ah! Now I see.

Very good.

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 11:21

OB, not drunken ramblings, was just explaining to boco which my wind-up thread was.

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 11:23

pmsl at athlete's foot cream.

Perhaps your dd should also consider something to help staunch the bleeding lest you stumble accross some man-traps...

Boco · 30/07/2008 11:37

Lol I did say to her 'shall I take a staple gun in case any of us lose a leg or an arm?' And she looked at me with a puzzled expression and said 'no, if anything like that happened we'd need an ambulance and probably a surgeon.'

OsmosisBanana · 30/07/2008 11:39

She must live in fear of a serious household accident! Maybe you should take to carrying around a roll of Gaffer tape and some WD40 - known to fix all things. Not that i'm encouraging you to torment your children...
