For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

pink are you running and yogaing? HOw are you feeling? Did you get very sick?

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2008 22:10

Got a bit slack with the running but have been going occasionally and have dug out my antenatal yoga dvd which seems quite easy but is fairly hardcore!!!!

I've been fine. No sick. Very little appetite at the moment but did have a few days where I just couldn't eat fast enough!!

Had a scan yesterday. They said about 10 weeks, which I knew, and it all looked about right. Next appt with midwife will be around the time we go on hols to Belgium. Camping Which will be fine

maybe we should lock up pink - there is no-one coming.

You empty the bins and check the windows, I'll check the electrics and turn the water off.

  • oh you might as well bring those apples - they'll be past their best of sunday.
UnderRated · 25/07/2008 23:58

No no no, I'm here, don't lock up yet.

UnderRated · 25/07/2008 23:59

Bero, those pictures are lovley

UnderRated · 26/07/2008 01:33

Apple
Banana (2 manybe 3, I can't remember)
Beans (baked)
peas
corn

6 Oooops

If I count planting lettuce and spinach seeds, that'd be 8 Not that they'll grow- it's far too hot

UnderRated · 26/07/2008 02:05

Zippi, how is your face?

Guadalupe · 26/07/2008 08:52

dd poured maple syrup on her pancake this morning and about 100 dead ants flooded out. Nice. The lid had been left off. Amazingly she cut them off and ate the untouched corner. She really likes pancakes.

We are going here today. It looks really sunny atm though a lot of rain is forecast. Hopefully it will just be showers.

Have a nice day.

Congrats, Pink!!

Guadalupe · 26/07/2008 08:55

We are friends with some of thr fairies. DD has been instructed not to blow their cover this year as last time she squealed in the crown workshops and said, you're not called Piperella, you're called Alex!

IdrisTheDragon · 26/07/2008 09:19

That looks wonderful MrsC (still can't manage to reliably type Guadalupe)

TigerFeet · 26/07/2008 09:44

That looks lovely Lupe, I'm not telling dd about it, she will be . Heavy showers are forecast here too (don't think we're that far away from you if you're off to Narborough Hall, atm it's blue skies and roasting - if you get caught by a shower you'll be really unlucky I reckon.

We're off to a village show later, I am in the midst of packing a picnic. DD is gallivanting about in the nude. I suppose I ought to put some clothes on her before we go out. I probably ought to get out of my PJ's too

F&V consumption crap but I'll be spending most of the day on my feet so that's the exercise covered

TigerFeet · 26/07/2008 09:46

Oh dear, I pressed post and then thought of how you will all giggle at being on my feet all day being exercise . In mitigation I sit behind a desk all week. Hence wideness of arse.

filthymindedvixen · 26/07/2008 09:52

oh NrsC, there are times when I wish I had girls....that looks wonderful. Sigh.

When we are done at this party dh wants to go to the boat. I want him to ring his mum and see if we can stay tythere tonight (seaside) and go beach tomorrow, seeing's as how we will be halfway there at this party. The boat is lovely but it is moored under trees so no chance to sun worship unless we go for a ride, in which case I will be too busy doing locks and bridges to laze in the sun...

I have made 40 buns this morning, tidied kitchen and sorted back garden after last nuight's bbq.

FrayedKnot · 26/07/2008 10:07

Morning all

Have hoovered as energetically as possible given this heat

And mopped the floor

Have a melon gently warming on the windowsill to have shortly.

Everyone sounds like they have lovely summery days planned. FMV I would choose the beach. There are not many days when it is actually warm enought to strip off and swim and stuff, right?

We are giong to the River Festival in our town - will be a raft race and lots of stalls and stuff. 'Tis jolly hot though

I would probably prefer the beach too actually

filthymindedvixen · 26/07/2008 11:17

Yay! I win!! Off to beach
