For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Zippi, what is the story with the car? What car is it and why is it in London and why is it costing so much? [baffled]

I love it when kids go out in dressing up clothes. We often see 'Spiderman' round here. Complete with snow boots when it is 90 degrees

zippitippitoes · 25/07/2008 18:03

its a long story

it is all part of my bad luck

of which i have just had some more

i picked up a voicemail from the garage and there was another message left on monday apparently

the british heart foundation wanted to interview me today

but as that was the only way they let me know i didnt know and have missed it by 2.5 hours

so i rang the number and it was her voicemail saying she is on holiday now till 11 aug

so that is cocked up as they will have appointed someone else

the closing date was yesterday so i didnt expect to hear anything till after that

UnderRated · 25/07/2008 18:10

Oh no zippi

pinkspottywellies · 25/07/2008 18:12

Oh Zip that does sound like quite a run of bad luck.

oh zippi that is bad luck.

maybe they won't have appointed anyone else, if she's on holiday now?

FrannyandZooey · 25/07/2008 18:25

oh zippi that's crap, sorry to hear all that

pink I know, I just wanted to share the name etc so much and I could not resist I am sure we will all revert to ds2 etc again soon

I am back off to the hosp soon
hoping to be home for good on Sunday [fingers crossed]

I was really sorry and surprised to read about everyone who had dc in SCBU or similar
mine sounds a bit precious compared to all those tbh
I hope banging on about it hasn't dragged up a lot of stuff for people
it was really helpful to hear stories from everyone, especially as I know some of your dc and know they are fine and fabulous

broccoli, carrots, red cabbage, sweetcorn

TigerFeet · 25/07/2008 18:48

OH lovely news Pink, am so pleased to be able to congratulate you

Franny - dunno what to say really, it all sounds so grim, other than @ lovely doctor. DS1 sounds so clever - loving the dumpling . So you're still on for being chucked out permanently on Sunday then? Great news.

LullyOfShallot · 25/07/2008 18:48

FFFFFFFFFFFRrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyy hello lovely one

LullyOfShallot · 25/07/2008 18:50

Avi, I have the parcel!!!! Have emailed

Re ds2, I am just feeling quietly sick. He got something in his eye today, his good eye, just a bit of grit or something trivial, but I really panicked internally.
They tested him at the hosp and with his poorly eye, he can only just see a 4"/5" high letter from about 3 feet away. This won't improve without the op.
Must phone homeopath when there is a quiet moment (HA!)

FrayedKnot · 25/07/2008 20:50

Congratulations Pink

You had us all guessing

Franny great to hear from you.

We have been sweeping up the apple cores from the yurt floor and everything.

You have trained us well

TooT it must be such an awful worry. Is DS2's otehr eye compensating?

berolina · 25/07/2008 20:56

Hello TooT. I know ds2 eye situation is a worry, lovely.

Have put photos of BeroBoys' balcony-paddling-pool-splashing session on profile. That was a nice thing

Tatties · 25/07/2008 21:03

Oh TooT what a worry for you

Bero your boys are gorgeous You always have lovely photos. I really like the one of you with ds2 in the red sling

BBBee · 25/07/2008 21:17

toot - my dad has very poor sight in one eye - if he covers his good eye he caqn see shapes but not much more and it has been like that all his life. He has trouble judging distances really accurately (e.g. to catch a ball) but other than that he is fine. He is also a very accomplished artist and paints the most wonderful pictures.

I know you are worried about the good eye and I cannot imagine how worried you must be about this whole situation.

S1ur · 25/07/2008 21:20

Hello,

Congratulations PInk

lettace, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado, dried apricots, egg and chips satsuma

TooT, How worrying for you. I have missed the intervening weeks but remember when ds was hurt. Do you have options?

Gorgeous pics Bero!

I think I have a glut of apples ready, but not sure how to tell for sure. The tree looks full and some of them have turned red, they are quite small though. I think I need to get the ladder and try one... I may be posted lots of apple based recipes in the near future.

BBBee · 25/07/2008 21:27

slur - good luck with apples - we have a tree heaving with them and they are tasteless. I hope yours are nicer.

We made banoffee pie today as I saw it in pizza express yesterday - it looked easy enough and so we had a nice time. Then we came to eat it and some alchemist transformation has turned it into somethin sweeter than sugar - it was nice for about half a spoonful and then it was sickly.

Had huge tuna salad in vague attempt to recreate pizza express salad nicose - but mine was all sweetcorn and peppers in place of capers and anchovies and all kinds of exotica.

BBBee · 25/07/2008 21:28

(I don't like anchovies)

S1ur · 25/07/2008 21:31

hmm Bbbee, yes these apples are untested, this is our first summer here so it may be the blossom was the best thing about the tree. We have pears at the back, which came out just after we moved in last autumn they were scrummy. But the apples will need investigating soon.

I'll take sweetcorn over anchovies any day.
