For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

oh good luck zip

TooT I am so sorry the eye is not resolved. I can so imagine that sick feeling being there underneath all the time

I agree about banoffee in P Express - all their desserts are crap - shall we write and tell them? everything else in there is so nice

we are home for the afternoon - well we even got home for lunch
all very lovely and mellow and calm so far
a different consultant came to look at ds2 and said "this is a normal baby"
she was a bit that he had been ill
will post picture later and you will see her point
she doesn't think he ever had an infection, she thinks it was a feeding problem

anyway am going to read Finn Family Moomintroll
At Home With My Family

Good luck Zippi!

Franny that's what you thought initially, isn't it - a feeding problem? Enjoy your afternoon

FrayedKnot · 26/07/2008 14:40

Ooh good luck Zippi, that sounds interesting

Franny, I suppose you will never know, but so pleased things are settling down for you now..how is feeding going now?

I am such a noodle today, after planning we would go to River Festival & everything I was just aimlessly folding some washing at precisely 11 AM and suddenly remembered out of the blue DS was supposed to be at a party at 11 and also that several children had dropped out of the party so it was really important he went

Rushed downstairs, bundled him into car with DH, then had to wrap present and card and take it down there afterwards

I was so

Now we are kicking our heels and wondering whether to go into town later on.

S1ur · 26/07/2008 14:59

Good luck Zippi, that's excellent news. And Franny, glad to hear you have a normal baby ooh and I think I've just realised our sons (firstborn) have the same name. ANd both have fabulous blonde curls. Is yours also currently obsessed with collecting sticks and following bees or is that just mine?

Oops Frayed! least you got him there!

Thank you Lupe for Posting about that fairy fair, it looks great, am sure you'll have a lovely time. I think I might try to take the children next year, since ds will be (almost) 3 and might be able to join in a bit more.

S1ur · 26/07/2008 15:01

oh I have apple news.

They are a bit rubbish. shame. dd likes them though and is insisting on apple pie, I think I'll have to add lots of other things like maybe plums and cinnamon to make it worth it.

So today so far sweet potato soup, handful of raisins, and some rather tasteless apples.

We've just come back from a v depressing chicken nugget & chip party.Ds spent most of the time in tears & I was hot bothered & longing for a glass of water
Ds ate about half a chip & a sip of squash & now says he isn't hungry as he's too tired & full up.
Another party tomorrow..............

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2008 17:45

here he is
he is in that "passed out pink and sweaty with milk all down his chops" state
if you wonder what is in his bulgy sock it is where the divine registrar put the IV line in the end!

I am going back in a couple of hours
ds2 and I slept in our own bed for 2 hours while dp took ds1 out to collect sticks (if that answers your question Slur )
everything got quite shouty later - ds1 VERY CROSS
he growls
very sweet with ds2 though, and some lovely moments in between the shouting and snarling

ds2 feeding VERY WELL
my god really well
I had forgotten how it gets quite relentless - have bleeding nipple, how long does that last?

IdrisTheDragon · 26/07/2008 17:47

Oh he looks lovely Franny

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2008 17:49

is it me or does he look VAST
I just can't believe he was in me a few days ago
mind you my stomach can well believe it
wtf does it even begin to go down? a little bit?

pointydog · 26/07/2008 18:00

aw, he looks gorgeous

LullyOfShallot · 26/07/2008 18:03

Oh Franny he is beautiful
So like ds1

ouch at bleeding nipples
Have you got any Lanisoh?

BBBee · 26/07/2008 18:11

oh franny he is just beautiful!

I remember looking at mine and feeling a bit head fucked that they were once in me.

In fact, during transition I started shouting 'how many people are there in the room - how many - have a guess?' like a crap magician, it even continued after teh birth as a 'how many people came into this room and how many will go out of the room?'

I (of course) found this to be witty, philosophical and profound. However, I did see midwife adn DP exchange one of those raised eyebrow things.

Slur - tasteless apples. Avi is right they are better cooked. My advice if you are doing a pie is to pre-cook them and boil some of the watery stuff off. Add lemon or cinamon or whatever - cut up dried apricots work well. OH the other thing I use mine for is chutney - so many other flavours going on so it is fine. Don;t despair - although they are no good picked and eaten there are loads of other things you can do.

Pizza express salads are divine - that is what I had to other night - much better than the ones I make at home - but I have said all this before. God I am boring.

zippitippitoes · 26/07/2008 18:25

toot sorry to hear that ds is having continuing eye problems

baby looks lovely and yes quite big

pointydog · 26/07/2008 18:28

har - during transisiton with dd1 I turned paranoid. I kept turning, giving the mw and dh the evil eye and saying/gasping 'I know you'r talking about me, I can hear you, I can hear you, you know'. They were talking about me - about the impending birth of dd1 of course

Tatties · 26/07/2008 18:32

Franny he's just perfect isn't he! He looks extremely well fed

Agree with Lully - next time you see the midwife ask her to do you a prescription for Lansinoh (costs £10 otherwise ) - that should help them heal really quickly, it's great stuff.

LullyOfShallot · 26/07/2008 18:39

One of the lovely midwives at the birthing centre gave me a tube
& boy was I glad of it.

Guadalupe · 26/07/2008 18:46

I never got bleeding nipples. I got more than my fair share of mastitis but they never bled I don't think. He is big, Franny, and gorgeous. He looks very healthy indeed.

Lol, Pointy, I was convinced the midwife thought I was a pain with ds2 and I didn't want any tension so I kept saying sorry all the time. She went off shift and it was a relief to be honest.

Lovely lovely day at the fair but it was SO hot, and I got cajoled into doing the maypole and I was holding F and it went much faster than I had seen it do and my scar HURT! Then he said this will ensure fertility. Oh, how I laughed.

Off to have a barbeque now, dh glaring at me to help with salad.

UnderRated · 26/07/2008 18:46

Am glad DS2 is 'normal' Franny - probably best to have been cautious but good if it was nothing more then a feeding problem. I think I'd be feeling a tad pissed off if I were you though. Still, as long as he's ok now, that;s the main thing. He is gorgeous. And huge! I love the stripey baby gro. Lansinoh was good for me too.

I taught a boy who growled a lot. I thought it was quite endearing but everyone else was shocked.

Bleurgh @ ants in syrup.

Congrats on interview, zippi.

3 types of bread in oven and cinnamon rolls. Cake cooling. Been to farmer's market. Done cleaning. Am worn out.

Meant to be going out tonight but BF is crap at getting anywhere on time. He often says, "I'll see you in the evening" but doesn't show til 10 which I suppose is technically evening but really more like bed-time. Must have words, I think.

S1ur · 26/07/2008 18:50

Wowee Fran he just lovely I second, er, third lansinoh. It is marvellous stuff and pure so can be left on for bfing. My ds had to be admitted into hospital at 3 months and have lumber puncture (mengingitis concern), then they spent ages stabbing him with needle trying to get tube in for abs. Horrible. I do get the err of side of caution thing though.

Thank you for apple advice, the tree is heacving so would be a shame to waste them. Pies and chutney, hmm, never made chutney - will have to look it up

lol @ bizarre transition stories.

LullyOfShallot · 26/07/2008 18:53

Guad (())
ds has a maypole at nursery..i love watching them dance around it.

UR
That is an astounding amount of baking & effort

We are living on salad
Tis too hot to cook

UnderRated · 26/07/2008 18:57

I know, I'm not sure what came over me Lully. I am premenstrual - perhaps that is it.

Will take cake to craft group and feed bread to BF if he ever shows up. Will freeze the rest. It smells yummy here.

I am about to have a glut of tomatoes and need to work out what to do with them.

UnderRated · 26/07/2008 19:00

Oh guad (())
